Create a personalised Mermaid card with the Magical Mermaid and Labeler Alphabet stamp sets from Stampin' Up!

A handmade Mermaid card with the words 'Dream Big' made with the Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Love Mermaids?
I think I mentioned before that when I was a child I used to pretend to be a Mermaid whenever I went swimming. Looking back, I can remember how vivid my imagination was - I truly felt like a Mermaid and I would spend hours swimming along the bottom of the pool by waving my shimmery, beautiful tail. I didn't want to get out the pool and would have happily stayed a Mermaid forever...

Fast forward thirty years and I still love Mermaids just as much. I have to make do with creating them from paper using the Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin' Up! but they appeal to me just as they did then.

I have used this stamp set a lot (also available in Wood Mount) - it is so much fun changing the colour of her tail and the background.

Make today's project
This is an easy project with a little bit of detail - some colouring and fussy-cutting. I decided the sentiment would be 'Dream Big' but you can create any sentiment you like using the Labeler Alphabet stamp set. This is another stamp set that I use time and time again and is well worth the money. Follow the steps below to create this project.

Follow the easy steps below:

1. Stamp the seaweed stamp from Magical Mermaid in Lemon Lime Twist onto some Very Vanilla Cardstock
2. Mount on to some Pineapple Punch Cardstock. Mount again on to your Very Vanilla Cardstock base.
3. Stamp your Mermaid in Black Memento Ink and leave to dry.
4. Using a Blender Pen and the following ink pads colour your Mermaid in: Tranquil Tide, Lovely Lipstick, Lemon Lime Twist, and Pineapple Punch - or whatever colours you fancy.
5. Fussy cut your Mermaid.
6. Stamp your sentiment using Labeler Alphabet and fussy cut out.
7. Add some Artisan Pearls
8. Assemble your card - I used Snail and Dimensionals.
You can create this same card with alternative colours for a different look. You can make the background as simple or as complicated as you like depending on your mood or your level of skill.
