Learn how to create rainbow swirls for your projects with the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Die by Stampin' Up!

A white handmade card with rainbow swirls and the sentiment 'fabulous friend, you amaze me' made with Stampin' Up! products.

Back to the gloomy weather here in England... it's so wet and cold, which is very odd after 29 degrees worth of heat last week!

Today I decided that I wanted to create something really bright and beautiful. I decided the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies would form the basis of my project, and it grew from there.

Create your rainbow swirls...
Today's project looks complicated but it's super easy. Just follow these easy steps:
1. Using an Aqua Painter add some ink to our Watercolour Paper. I chose Rich Razzleberry, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Old Olive. Leave to dry.
2. Stamp your sentiment - I chose Banners for You and cut out using the coordinating Bunch of Banners Framelit Dies.
3. Using the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies cut out swirls and flowers.
4. Put your project together using Snail Adhesive and Stampin' Dimensionals.

This image shows a white handmade card with rainbow swirls and the sentiment 'fabulous friend, you amaze me' scrolling across the middle, stamped in black, made with Stampin' Up! products.

This project definitely cheered me up and made me feel a tiny bit warmer!

How to create a Dragonfly Card using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies by Stampin' Up!

This image shows a handmade card with a white background and water-coloured segment in Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry and Garden Green, a black dragonfly cut out with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies sits above.

Love Dragonflies?
Then the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies are for you! They partner up with the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set but are also good to use on their own, like I have done with today's project.

This image is a photograph of the dies in the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies set by Stampin' Up!

This picture shows the stamped images that comprise the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Or perhaps you love Bees?
These Dies also come with a Bee, which means your scope of projects to make with this set is large. I used these Dies to create the Summer Dragonfly Card that I showcased last Friday. In fact these Dies are so useful because you can just change the background of your projects and create amazing designs.

This image shows a handmade card with a white background and water-coloured segment in Elegant Eggplant, Crushed Curry and Garden Green, a black dragonfly cut out with the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies sits above.

Choose your colour...
I used some Elegant Eggplant ink which is retiring with this current catalogue on May 31st 2018. I also used Garden Green and Crushed Curry inks, although they have blended and created other colours altogether! Obviously changing the colours would completely change the look of this card.

If you have this set already then I'd love to see pictures of your creations! Forwarded them to me at the email address at the top of this page.

I'll be back tomorrow with more Stampin' Up! news and ideas,

Beautiful You is staying!
Us Stampin' Up! Demonstrators are over the moon that the Beautiful You stamp set is staying for a bit longer and moving over in to the new Annual Catalogue (coming 1st June 2018).

It is such a gorgeous stamp set; personally I love the artistic feel to it.

It comprises of 13 stamps, with a sentiment for every occasion, and is available in both Clear Mount and Wood Mount

This image shows the 13 stamp images that make up the Beautiful You stamp set by Stampin' Up!

How to make this card
Follow the step-by-step instructions below and recreate this project:

1. Create a wash on Watercolour Paper using an Aqua Painter and Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Real Red ink pads. Give the pads a careful squeeze and use the ink collected in the lid. Set aside to dry
2. Cut out a swirl of Daffodil Delight Cardstock using the Big Shot and the Swirly Scribbles Thinlits Dies
3. Stamp your sentiment and chosen figure from Beautiful You. I chose the lady with the hat. You can colour her if you wish.
4. Put your project together using Tombow Multipurpose Glue, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Stampin' Dimensionals, and some Pearls to finish.

How to make this gorgeous summer Dragonfly Card with shades of blue and green.

This image shows a handmade card with black die-cut dragonflies suspended over a water coloured background in shades of blue and green.

Summer is here!
Well, here in England Spring has been totally bypassed and we now have SUMMER! It was an extremely long winter, and despite having heavy snow here in Suffolk only three weeks ago, we had 28 degrees yesterday! The hottest April day since 1949.

With that in mind, I thought we should have a summer card. I used the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies for the dragonflies - this project makes me think of the gorgeous river nearby and the dragonflies and damselflies that dart to and fro...

Today's project is a super-quick one, you just need to allow time for drying, which isn't a problem in this weather.

This image shows a card with black die-cut dragonflies on a water coloured background of blues and greens, created using Aqua Painters and other products by Stampin' Up!

How to make this card
1. Create a wash on Watercolour Paper using an Aqua Painter and the colours you desire - I used Tempting Turquoise (retiring), Old Olive and Garden Green. Give the ink pads a little squeeze and then pick up colour in the lid.
2. Leave to dry. When it is dry, stamp your sentiment. I used Thoughtful Banners. The adhere to some Very Vanilla Cardstock.
3. Die cut your dragonflies in Basic Black Cardstock using the Detailed Dragonfly Thinlits Dies and the Big Shot.
4. Adhere using our Mini Stampin' Dimensionals

A super quick and easy, but extremely lovely, easy dragonfly project.

Get your hands on the Myths & Magic Suite before it disappears!

Cute Bermuda Bay cartoon Mermaid card made using the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

Bye bye Myths & Magic...
So, as the title suggests we are losing the Myths & Magic Suite in the upcoming new Annual Catalogue. It's ok, because there are lots of fabulous new products coming, but if you want to add these items to your craft collection take action because they're only available while stocks last...

Today's project has been made using the Myths & Magic Specialty Designer Series Paper - I carefully cut out the Mermaid from this fabulous DSP and mounted her on some sponged white cardstock. Thanks goes to Lauren Alarid, a fellow Stampin' Up! Demonstrator for this idea.

Create beautiful cards with the Magical Mermaid stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Image shows a grey and brown mermaid card made using the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

Our Magical Mermaid stamp set is staying!
I am so pleased to report that our Magical Mermaid stamp set is moving over to the new Annual Catalogue (coming 1st June 2018).

Every time I play with this stamp set I love it!

How to make this card
I started today's project by creating a wash on Watercolor Paper using Basic Grey and Crumb Cake ink and an Aqua Painter.

This is a picture of a grey and brown themed mermaid card made using the Magical Mermaid Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!

I embossed the Mermaid in Silver Stampin' Emboss Powder and used my old Versamark pen to colour in some of the scales on her tail, embossing them in Silver, Copper and Gold.

The beauty of this project is it only uses the one stamp set.

Learn more about the Stampin' Up! Colour Revamp 2018 - View the New Colours

Yesterday we looked at the Retiring Colours in the 2018 Stampin' Up! Colour Revamp, so let's take a look at the new colours that will be coming in.

The New In Color Collection 2018-2020
First up is the new In Color Collection. As you know we have two In Color collections running at any one time. They last for two years and they alternate.

The column on the right hand side is our current In Colors, and the column on the left will be our new In Colors, starting 1st June 2018:

This image shows the In Color colour collection by Stampin' Up! for years 2016-2018 and 2018-2020.
I can't wait to get my hands on Blueberry Bushel - it's such a gorgeous colour!

The New Colours 2018
As we are having a complete colour revamp with colours leaving, we also have some new colours arriving 1st June. Take a look at them below:
This image shows the new colours coming to Stampin' Up! in 2018

These are also so lovely! I can't wait to get my hands on all of these - I bet you can't either!

View our new Colour Families....
We have completely overhauled our colour families. Stampin' Up! took out the unpopular colours to make way for new colours based on current trends and fashion, and filled any gaps. Stampin' Up! wanted a colour spectrum for each group that worked well.

This means our new Colour Families will look like this:

This image shows the newly formulated Stampin' Up! Colour Families, with four groups of ascending colours.

I think you'll agree this is very exciting news and the new Color Families look great.

Stay posted for lots more Stampin' Up! news between now and the new Annual Catalogue coming 1st June 2018.

Create a simple Ship Card using the Message in a Bottle stamp set by Stampin' Up!

This white greetings card has three hand-stamped ships crossing the middle of the card - they have been made using the Message in a Bottle stamp set and coloured with Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise colours, all by Stampin' Up!

Love simplicity?
I do! In my quest to create simpler cards using less products they have (of course) turned out to be Clean and Simple (CAS) - a term we use in Card Making to describe simple cards with lots of white space.

Today's card is no exception. I love this design. It is perfect for a child's card, and of course you can colour the ships in their favourite colours. I used Pumpkin Pie, Real Red and Tempting Turquoise from the Brights Stampin' Write Markers. The Message in a Bottle stamp set is used for both the ships and the sentiment...

A picture of all 19 stamp images in the Message in a Bottle stamp set by Stampin' Up!

I have been using this stamp set a lot recently. I apologise for the number of nautical and sea-themed cards on my blog of late - I just can't resist a watery stamp set!

I'll be back tomorrow with more Stampin' Up! news and ideas,
