How to make an embellished tree using the Sheltering Tree stamp set - Old Meets New

A picture of a greetings card depicting a tree made with the Sheltering Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up! It has green leaves and a red heart.

Have a go at using up your old (and new) adhesive enamel shapes and decorate this gorgeous tree...
I wanted to create a card for lovely Mr Hippy who does so much for me.

I knew that I wanted to use the tree from our gorgeous Sheltering Tree stamp set and embellish it with leaves and Brights Enamel Shapes from our selection of Embellishments.

I also had some old Enamel Shapes that I wished to use, and I knew I wanted a little red heart in there somewhere.

I used three colours of ink pad - Early Espresso, Old Olive and Garden Green.

Touches of Texture thank you card with white embossing

Touches of Texture, Stampin' Up!

Use white embossing on your projects to create a fresh look
I create so many cards with a white background, and as a result I don't often use white embossing powder. Embossing in white creates a really fresh look and adds texture and depth.

Touches of Texture, Stampin' Up!
This card is a variation of the Perfect Plum Touches of Texture Card I made back in February (picture below).

The Touches of Texture stamp set is perfect for floral projects and this card is perfect for using up your scraps. I love the contrast of the white embossing on the coloured card. The white embossing on the white cardstock also creates a layer of extra depth.

I really went to town with the embellishments; I used a mixture of Brights Enamel ShapesIridescent Sequins and some white sequins from the Metallics Sequin Assortment

I fussy-cut the flowers using our Paper Snips, and layered everything with some Stampin' Dimensionals.

You can find the full list of Stampin' Supplies used for this project at the bottom of this post.

Create a bright and colourful heart card using the Heart Happiness stamp set and Sale-A-Bration DSP

Create this Heart Happiness Card using Ink Refills and DSP by Stampin' Up!

Create this Heart Happiness Card using Ink Refills and DSP by Stampin' Up!
Isn't this gorgeous?
My favourite make of the year so far I think.

I have used the Babywipe Tie-Dye Technique and the Heart Happiness stamp set to create a mottled heart.

I used Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Ink Refills.

I have mounted the heart onto some Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper - this paper is FREE when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products, but be aware this offer ends on the 31st March 2018, so only a couple of days left.

I created the sentiment using Tuxedo Black Ink on top of Pool Party Cardstock - the stamp set is our fabulous Labeler Alphabet set. I really hope this one will be carrying over into the new catalogue in June.

The flowers are from Touches of Texture (also available in Wood Mount).

I finished my project off using some Brights Enamel Shapes - I used the Rich Razzleberry stars.

How to make the tree from the Sheltering Tree stamp set taller

How to make a gorgeous Garden Green Sheltering Tree card by Stampin' Up! Learn how to stretch out the tree to make a taller tree.

Sheltering Tree...
Sheltering Tree is a customer favourite stamp set. The main image in this collection is a beautiful tree with out-stretched branches that can be left bare or decorated with leaves:

Sheltering Tree stamp set, Stampin' Up!

How to create a taller tree
You can stretch out the tree by stamping on a separate piece of cardstock and layering it slightly further down. This makes it appear taller, leaving more room for the leaves stamp, which is exactly what I have done with today's project.

You can also use this same technique to make the tree look wider - stamp the leaves outside the box to the side to make its width bigger.

How to make a taller tree using the Sheltering Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up!

I used Garden Green and Old Olive ink to stamp the leaves on my tree; the trunk has been stamped in Chocolate Chip and some Crumb Cake at the bottom. Change the colour of the leaves to change the look or season of your card.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners.

I will be back tomorrow with another project, thank you for stopping by,

Make a Fresh Fig Magical Day unicorn card

How to make this unicorn card. Use the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Create fun fantasy cards with the Magical Day stamp set
I am still loving this unicorn stamp from Magical Day. Unicorns are all the rage at the moment, they can be found everywhere from clothes shops to Claire's Accessories to stationery shops. They seem to be particularly popular with girls in the 10-13 age bracket. I know my daughter is no exception!

This card was an easy to make, so instead of laying out the instructions I've created a list of the Stampin' Supplies you need to make this project (below); simply assemble the card by copying the picture:

Isn't it gorgeous? The possibilities are really endless with this stamp set. I'm still yet to use the knight or the mermaid but they are up next!

Simple Sunday: High Tide Card

How to create this High Tide card, using the High Tide stamp set and Classic Stampin' Pads from Stampin' Up!

How to create this High Tide card, using the High Tide stamp set and Classic Stampin' Pads from Stampin' Up!
I really love the simplicity of this card...

Sometimes less really is more. Take this gorgeous card for example. There is plenty of white space, and some simple one-step stamping.

And yet the simplicity doesn't detract from the card. If anything, it adds beauty.

I love cards like this.

I have used the High Tide Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! and four basic colours - Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and So Saffron.

Simply stamp, copying the image. And Voila!

Bee exceptional and create this Bee Happy Card!

Learn how to create this gorgeous bee and dragonfly card using the Touches of Texture stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly Dies from Stampin' Up!

As Summer makes its way towards us so do the bee and dragonfly projects...

Which I love!

There is something about bees and dragonflies that are so evocative of Summer - maybe it's the way they buzz about, busy with their business... flying from flower to flower. As I sit here trying to warm myself up with my Cup-a-Soup, just thinking about it makes me feel warm and happy.

Don't forget the Designer Series Paper I've used in this project is FREE during Sale-A-Bration (ends 31st March), when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products (excl. P&P).

Learn how to create this gorgeous bee and dragonfly card using the Touches of Texture stamp set and Detailed Dragonfly Dies from Stampin' Up!How to make this card
This is a really easy make. You're going to love this. Just follow the instructions and the picture above:

1. Cut your Whisper White and Crumb Cake cardstock to make your card base.
2. Cut a rectangular piece of Bubbles & Fizz Designer Series Paper - I selected the page that looks like honeycomb (FREE during Sale-A-Bration).
3. Cut out your dragonflies using the Detailed Dragonfly Dies and Big Shot. I used Basic Black and Tranquil Tide cardstock.
4. Stamp the Crumb Cake Cardstock using Tuxedo Memento Black Ink and the Touches of Texture Stamp Set.
5. Using Tranquil Tide Ink stamp your sentiment using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set.
6. Assemble your card using Snail, Dimensionals and a piece of Silver Metallic Thread.
7. Add some Gold Glitter Flakes (which are hexagonal shaped) using the Fine-Tip Glue Pen.

And there you have it! A quick, simple, gorgeous, bee-and-dragonfly-themed card.

Make this gorgeous Pieces & Patterns Bear Quarter Card - VIDEO

How to create this gorgeous Pieces & Patterns Bear Card by Stampin' Up! Follow this Stampin' Up! Demonstrator in the UK.

Ok, so you guys LOVED my Quarter Card. First the Original, and then the Fish Triple Cut Card which I named as such because it used three pieces of cardstock instead of the four.

Today's project is a wonderful, clean and simple Bear Quarter Card which uses only one stamp set, Pieces and Patternsso it's really easy to make.

I know you guys will love this so much I've made a video.

As I mentioned previously, the possibilities for this type of card are absolutely endless, and I have so many ideas in my head but don't want to bore you endlessly with making them.

This project is especially quick and simple because it only uses one stamp set, so is easy to replicate over and over.

I used Chocolate Chip, Crushed Curry, and Smoky Slate which were the perfect combination:

Apologies for not being able to finish the card completely in the video, my Fibromyalgia is really playing me up at the minute!

I really hope you liked this project, hope to see some CASEs about.

Stampin' Up! Brusho Crystal Colour - Create this Sheltering Tree card

Brusho Crystal Colour, Stampin' Up! Have a go at creating this gorgeous Sheltering Tree card.
Getting creative with Brusho...

I love the addition of Brusho Crystal Colour to our catalogue.

If you haven't heard of Brusho Crystal Colour it's basically watercolour crystals that you use in your watercolouring projects.

You can either sprinkle onto wet Watercolour Paper, or sprinkle onto dry Watercolour paper and spritz with water (watching the colours pop into life before your eyes), or just mix in a pot with water to create amazing shades for painting with.

I've had so much fun with Brusho!!

Before I made this tree card using the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set, I had just created a tree picture with Bonus (step) Daughter #2.
I painted a tree trunk and boughs using ordinary watercolour paints and then BD#2 sprinkled the Brushos onto her picture.

She was so delighted when we spritzed the paper using one of our Stampin' Spritzers. She loved watching the colour pop and watching the colours slowly blending into a unique pattern as it dried. She was really proud of her creation:

Brusho Crystal Colour, Stampin' Up! Have a go at creating this gorgeous Tree Project. Full details.

If we did it again we'd probably add more colour to the top of the tree, but we were very happy with our first go.

So of course, I had to recreate this same picture using our stamps. I opted for the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set which has this gorgeous shape:

Brusho Crystal Colour, Stampin' Up! Have a go at creating this gorgeous Sheltering Tree card

As you can see I have used mainly the Prussian Blue and Brilliant Red shades for my creation. There are 5 pots in our set of colours.

The sentiment is from Pieces and Patterns - I love this sentiment and have been sticking it on everything recently!

I look forwards to sharing more Brusho creations with you all. Back tomorrow with another Stampin' Up! project,

Create this Heart Happiness multicoloured heart card using the Babywipe Tie-Dye Technique

How to use the Heart Happiness stamp set by Stampin' Up! to create a multicoloured heart tie-dye card.

Good morning, my hearts!
Today's project has been one of my favourite makes this year. I love how the effect of the heart stamp from Heart Happiness has merged with the technique and the colours to create this fab mottled heart.

I used the Babywipe Tie-Dye Technique which you can see below:

I used Elegant Eggplant, Rich Razzleberry, Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party Ink Refills for today's project. The amount of ink you use dictates the look of the card - use more purple and you will have a darker looking card. Use only a few spots of purple and it will stand out from a lighter heart.

I used Thoughtful Banners for the sentiment.

How to use the Heart Happiness stamp set by Stampin' Up! Use the Tie-Dye effect to create this gorgeous mottled heart. Learn more.

On Friday I shall be making today's heart card using shades of blue, pink and purple; be sure to come back and see the video.

Make a Splash! Make the Triple Cut Card (similar to the Quarter Card) using the Seaside Shore stamp set by Stampin' Up!

How to create the Triple Cut Card using Seaside Shore by Stampin' Up! It's a lot like the Quarter Card. Follow the instructions for this technique. www.craftyhippy.co.uk

Create this gorgeous card...
Today's project, which I am calling a Triple Cut Card is very similar to the Quarter Card I showed you earlier on last week:

Quarter Card made using Touches of Texture by Stampin' Up!

The idea is you create an image over several pieces of Whisper White Cardstock, which you then spread out with gaps.

How to create the Triple Cut Card using Seaside Shore by Stampin' Up! It's a lot like the Quarter Card. Follow the instructions for this technique. www.craftyhippy.co.ukHow to make today's project
Today I used Seaside Shore (also available in Wood Mount) as the main stamp set in my composition.

The length of the strips of cardstock are much longer than in the original Quarter Card I made, but this allows for more detail to be added.

The piece of card I used in this project was 3" x 4" - I cut downwards at regulars of 1" (making each singular piece 1" x 4").

I used some other sea-themed stamp sets which are in the list of Stampin' Supplies used (below).

I stamped everything in Tuxedo Memento Black Ink and then used the Blender Pens to colour in the fish.

You could create so many different cards using this fantastic technique - and you could use different layers of cardstock - for example the side pieces could be slightly shorter creating a 'cross' effect. It would still work really well.

Add some techniques...
Of course you could also use a variety of techniques on your project, too, for example embossing, sponging and brayering to add depth to your card, depending on your subject.

Stampin' Supplies
I used the following supplies to create this card:

How to make a simple and elegant Sympathy Card for a pet lover

How to create a thoughtful sympathy card for the loss of a pet. Use Heart Happiness, Soft Sky and Foxy Friends by Stampin' Up! to create the perfect card.
Losing a pet is hard.
They are our constant companions and often a lot of fun to be with. A pet is not just an animal, they're a much loved member of the family, and saying goodbye is a hard thing to do.

I made this card for a friend when I heard he'd had his dog put to sleep last week.

Very often it is hard to find the right words, so a simple, heartfelt card is perfect.

I created this card using the Heart Happiness Stamp Set, the sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Sentiments, and the paw print is from Foxy Friends.

I chose Soft Sky blue - not just because his dog was male but because it's a soft, peaceful and respectful colour.
