Get creative with the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! - FREE when you spend £45 on products

Did you see the Lots of Lavender card I made earlier in the week?

This is an exact copy of that card but I have changed the colours - doesn't it look completely different!?

That's the beauty of the Lots of Lavender Stamp Set - even just a difference in colour can radically change the look you are creating.

Night of Navy Lots of Lavender Card by Stampin' Up!

How to make this card
Stamp your flowers using the Tuxedo Memento Black Ink Pad. Leave that to dry. Use a Blender Pen to colour your posy in Night of Navy and Rose Red.

I used Always Artichoke for the stems and leaves and some Daffodil Delight for the ribbon.

I used Night of Navy Cardstock and the Layering Squares Framelits Dies (in the Big Shot) for the background. So simple and elegant.

You can get this stamp set FREE when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products, in fact get a free gift for every £45 spent (excl. P&P). Take a look at Sale-A-Bration for more details.

Mum's 60th Birthday: A personalised card made using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set from Stampin' Up! (and her birthday adventure!)

Create this gorgeous flowery card using the Beautiful Bouquet stamp set from Stampin' Up! Full instructions.

Today I am sharing a card that I made for my Mum's birthday back in December. It was her 60th and it all felt a bit strange, really, as I made this card many months in advance and we had her surprise birthday adventure in January to avoid the Christmas crowd!

We went to The Shard for lunch! Mum thought it was just her and Dad going but Mr Hippy and I showed up in London and surprised her by walking into a cafe. Her face was a picture!

A day out in London with my parents!

I've never been to The Shard before and neither had my parents. The views from the bar (Oblix) were absolutely amazing and definitely an experience to take up if you ever get the chance. The food was absolutely divine, and very generous on the portion size, though as you expect very expensive. But so worth it. The staff were lovely and very accomodating, and moved us to a window table just before out food came out. So lucky!

The food at the Oblix Restaurant in The Shard was absolutely amazing.

None of this would have been possible without Mr Hippy who very generously arranged this and made it happen. He is the nicest husband and it's no wonder my parents love him. My Mum had a really lovely time and we created some gorgeous memories.

I would have shared the pictures the very next day but I was too exhausted!

Create this gorgeous flower background
So, on to how I made Mum's card.

This project uses two stamp sets - Beautiful Bouquet and Number of Years (for the word 'birthday') - and shades of blue with a bit of purple and pink.

The Large Numbers Framelits Dies, correspond with the Number of Years stamp set, and I used these in the Big Shot to cut out a '60' using some Marina Mist Cardstock.

Choose your mix of colours
There is a very similar card on page 93 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue, using bright yellows and oranges, but in this project I used Blushing BrideElegant EggplantMarina MistSoft Sky and Sweet Sugarplum.

This is such an easy look to create - use lots of layers and one of our Sponge Daubers to create a misty look, dabbing here and there.

Happy birthday Mum!

Make a striking but simple flower card with the Lots of Lavender stamp set from Stampin' Up!

Have fun creating this gorgeous card - use the Lots of Lavender stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Be inspired with the Lots of Lavender stamp set

So as you might have guessed, the Lots of Lavender stamp set is proving to be one of my favourites this Sale-A-Bration.

Not only do I like it because it's free, but because it's actually really quite versatile.

It's only a bunch of flowers, but it's a gorgeous bunch of flowers, and changing the colour of the petals, ribbon and leaves actually makes it look like a very different stamp each time (it doesn't have to look like Lavender).

I coloured my stamped image using a Blender Pen and some Melon Mambo and Peekaboo Peach ink. The leaves are Old Olive to match the Old Olive Cardstock in the background. Easy Peasy.

The sentiment is from Thoughtful Banners, which I use a lot.

I really hope you liked this card!

A closer look at the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin' Up! And a visit to some distant childhood memories...

Create this mystical Dragon Card using the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin' Up! plus some Embossing Paste
What do you think about dragons?!

One of my favourite dragons of all time has to be Smaug, who is the primary antagonist in J.R.R. Tolkien's 1937 novel The Hobbit.

Despite being described as 'a most specially greedy, strong and wicked worm' I love Smaug!! The idea of him guarding a large pile of treasure inside a mountain for 150 years was so evocative to me as a child.

Dragons have been portrayed in popular culture in many different forms over the years - radio, film, television, art, comics, puppetry, games, songs, toys, theme parks, shows, the list goes on and on.

Another dear childhood memory of mine was singing Puff the Magic Dragon, oh how I loved this!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
in a land called Honnah Lee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff, oh!
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name, oh!
A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave, oh!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
in a land called Honnah Lee

Anyway, enough of my childhood day-dreaming... let's look at today's project and what you need to make it!

The gorgeous (and very friendly) dragon in today's project is from our new Magical Day stamp set. Demonstrators and customers alike are having so much fun with this set:
Here is the Magical Day Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

You can create all sorts of magical fun with this.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up! came up with a fantasy stamp set as in the time I have been a Demonstrator (nearly 6 years) there has been one Fairy set and that's it.

I created the background using the Shaving Foam Technique. If you click on the link you'll find instructions, videos and more information on how to do this and create amazing backgrounds for your cards and scrapbooking projects.

You'll find all the products you need to make this card in the chart below. I'll be back soon with more ideas!
