Painted Harvest Sunflowers

Painted Harvest sunflower card by Stampin' Up!

Painted Harvest
I know we're well into preparations for Christmas and the festive season, but everyone loves sunflowers. They're bright and cheery, and they'll brighten any mood. They grow tall and proud, and they're found in many a country garden in England in the late summer and early autumn. Stampin' Up! have really captured their beauty with their Painted Harvest Stamp Set. You can buy the stamp set by itself or opt for the Bundle and save 10%

Here's some amazing facts about sunflowers...

- They're the only flower with 'flower' in their name.
- Their heads follow the movement of the sun across the sky.
- Sunflowers are one of the fastest growing plants.
- The spiral sequence of seeds on a sunflower head nearly always follows the Fibonacci sequence.
- Sunflower seeds are found in two ways: black and striped.
- Black seeds are used to make oil, and the striped seeds are used for snacking.

Create this card
This project is a simple, one-layer card. You can create multiples of this card very quickly and easily. Just cut all your cardstock first, stamp the front of your cards, then assemble.

I used Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Early Espresso and Garden Green, and Crushed Curry A4 Cardstock; plus either Very Vanilla or Whisper White cardstock.

All the products I've used are in the Showcase Reel below.

Alternative colours...
Of course you could create a completely different look altogether using bright colours - who says you have to create traditional-looking flowers for your cards? You could use some gorgeous Tempting Turquoise or Melon Mambo for a modern look.

If you've bought this stamp set I'd love to see your creations! Please send pictures of your projects to and I'll share them.
