10 Best Flower Cards

Read on for a list of conventional and uncoventional flower cards - they're all easy to make and there is a link through to the original post for more detailed instructions.

Make a gorgeous greetings card using the Painted Harvest Stamp Set by Stampin' Up!
 1. Gorgeously Simple Sunflower Card

Made with the Painted Harvest Stamp Set this sunflower set has been so popular since it was released a couple of months ago.

You can make your sunflowers as conventional or unconventional as you like depending on what colours you use.

This card featured on the 10 Gorgeous Stampin' Up! Sunflower Cards.

Read the complete instructions on how to make this card HERE

2. Use the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set to create pretty flower mandalas

The Eastern Beauty Stamp Set is another favourite amongst Stampin' Up! customers and demonstrators alike.

You can use it to create gorgeous flower centrepieces for modern cards.

Take a closer look at this project HERE.

3. Cheerful Daisy Card

This card uses the 'Congratulations' from our Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set but you can use any sentiment for a classy and cheerful card.

The daisies are a sheet of our Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper - of course you could create an entirely different looking card by using different paper.

4. Use a Card Kit to create a beautiful floral card

This card took seconds to make.

I used the Soft Sayings Card Kit which comes with everything you need to make 20 gorgeous cards (except adhesive), plus it has pre-printed instructions so that you don't have to spend time thinking up designs.

Of course you can get creative and completely ignore the designs in the pack and create your own, the choice is yours.

5. Use subtle flowery backgrounds for cards with a strong focal point

This card is yet another Delightful Daisy Designer Series Paper creation.

I think the gentle flowers offset the bold dragonfly from the Detailed Drangonfly Thinlits Dies perfectly. I used Night of Navy and Calypso Coral cardstocks.

6. Watercolor Words 'You're the Best' Sunflower Card

This beauty is a quick and easy make.

Add a shock of Garden Green Cardstock at the edges for a cheery, garden-inspired card.

8. Colourful Flowers

Layered colours create the feel of a summer country garden - packed full of blooming loveliness.

I used the Beautiful Bouquet Stamp Set and Sponge Daubers to create this dreamy card. Swap the sentiment out to suit your recipient.

9. Have a go at the Triple Stamp Flower Technique

This technique is something I came up with recently. Stamp three flower stamps in bright colours to create an eye-catching design.

I've used the Watercolor Words Stamp Set for the large sentiment which is fabulous for card making.

10. Add a Doily and pearl to your flower cards

Embellishments always add extra depth and dimension to your projects, no matter the subject matter.

I have finished this card off with one of our Metal Rimmed Pearls and with a Delicate White Doily, which both add a bit of elegance to the card.

Of course you can change the Designer Series Paper and the sentiment to alter the look you are going for.

Spotlight On... Bundles

Invest in a Stampin' Up! Bundle and save 10%

What is a Bundle?
Stampin' Up! Bundles are a pair of combined products that complement each other that can be ordered as a set.

Why buy a Bundle, rather than the two items seperately?
If you buy the Bundle you'll get a discount - saving 10%

Are all the Bundle items available separately?
Yes, if there is a particular stamp set or set of dies that you like (but not their complementing item) you can buy that item individually.

I haven't got a Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine, do all the Bundles contain Dies?
No, some of our Bundles contain Punches, so don't worry about missing out!

Where can I see the Bundles?
You can view all the available Bundles HERE.

CASE Card - make this gorgeous Sheltering Tree greetings card

Sit under a Sheltering Tree...
Do you like trees? I do, and I think they are the perfect subject for cards. I am very fond of trees, as they feel like friendly guardians. They're a big hit in our house as Mr Hippy is a trained Tree Surgeon. I think trees are very evocative no matter their shape, size, condition or colour - they're always beautiful.

This lovely card was originally designed by Dawn Olchefske. It features the Sheltering Tree Stamp Set and gorgeous shades of Island Indigo and Tempting Turquoise.

This gorgeous stamp set Sheltering Tree by Stampin' Up! is a must for any craft collection

Learn what you can do with this fantastic stamp set

I pretty much CASEd Dawn's card exactly, except I changed the sentiment.
Dawn used a 'Merry Christmas' stamp but I have opted for 'thinking of you' which I really like and is a sentiment included in the Sheltering Tree stamp set.

As you can see there are four lovely sentiments in this set which can be used for all manner of occasions.

You can create trees in every colour for every season with this fantastic set.

It's definitely a Crafty Hippy favourite and a must for any craft collection!

A big thanks goes out to Dawn for her inspiration on this card. I love her work and am often inspired by her creativity.

Simple Stamping - The Triple Stamp Flower Technique

Learn how to create this gorgeous flower effect for all your greetings cards, scrabooking projects and home decor ideas.

Learn more about the Triple Stamp Flower Technique

Ok, so I don't know if any of the other demonstrators have thought of this before, but I'm calling this the Triple Stamp Flower Technique. This creates a bold and bright pattern which is perfect for your card bases or Scrapbook pages. It is easy to reproduce, and you can stamp large spaces of card or paper quickly.

Create this look
Basically, I took three flower stamps and simply overlapped them in colourful ink shades from our Brights collection.

In this instance I used the one-step and two-step flower stamps from the Touches of Texture Stamp Set, and the flower stamp from the Watercolor Words Stamp Set. The sentiment is also from Watercolor Words.

Create these gorgeous flowers for your card making, home decor and scrapbooking projects by simple stamping

Colour Combinations
I stamped the flower in the top project in Bermuda Bay, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo - of course you could use any combination of colour, the brighter and bolder the better.

I created the project immediately above using the same stamps, but using Basic Black, Rich Razzleberry and Tempting Turquoise. Can you see what a difference using other colours make??

Try out the My Create Ink SU Color Lab to see what colours work well together.

You could try this with any flower stamps that you have, they don't have to be the ones I've listed above.

Fussy cut the sunflowers from the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up! for instant embellishments

Make a Greetings Card using the Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper by Stampin' Up!

Create this cheery greetings card

Good morning all!
Us Brits are always talking about the weather. It's a good way to start a conversation and as our weather is so changeable there's always something to talk about. Well, we've have had a couple of unseasonably warm days, like summer, and apparently that's because of Hurricane Ophelia, which is heading our way. We'll be ok here in the East, but the West of the country is going to take a bit of a battering.

So even though we've a storm headed in our direction the weather has been amazing which means I have been in a summery mood, and created this gorgeous card.

Fussy cut your sunflowers...
The Painted Autumn Designer Series Paper features lots of lovely sunflowers and pumpkins that can be cut out to create instant embellishments for your cards that match other sheets of the pack. This way you can create a gorgeous co-ordinated look for your cards, scrapbook pages and home decor projects.

Complete the Painted Autumn Suite with the co-ordinating Painted Harvest Bundle

Create summer and autumn card making projects with the Painted Harvest Bundle by Stampin' Up!
I think the Painted Autumn Suite has to be my favourite suite of the year.

The Painted Harvest Bundle (left) saves you 10%. The Painted Harvest Stamp Set and Leaf Punch featured in this Bundle are the perfect addition to the Painted Autumn DSP.

You can create all sorts of summer and autumn projects with this simple two-step stamping set.

The Leaf Punch quickly and accurately punches out the leaf you have stamped, or you can use it to punch out coloured cardstock, creating a solid leaf look.

In the project posted today you will notice our Crushed Curry Solid Bakers Twine - this is another item that goes perfectly with the products in the Painted Autumn Suite and is well worth investing in to add those vital finishing touches. You can pick this up for only £2.75 and is the perfect finish.

Stampin' Up! Cat Punch - And meet Baby, the Crafty Hippy Cat

Baby, the Crafty Hippy Cat

Meet Baby, the Crafty Hippy cat and take a closer look at the Stampin' Up! Cat Punch

So this is our lovely little dumpling, Baby.

She is the sweetest little cat I have ever met. She enjoys sleeping, chasing a laser light - although she is a little bit lazy and usually flops over, trying to catch it with her paws - and having her tummy and back feet stroked. Now that it's the autumn she will spend most of her time indoors on a bed, or in one of our living rooms.

Her favourite food is Beef with Tomato! Which I think is an odd choice for a cat, but she loves it. She is extremely gentle and does not bite or scratch, she'll even play with us with her nails firmly tucked in. She likes to come and sit with us ladies when we have class.

I'm sure the cat lovers out there will appreciate what a little beauty she is.

Any crafting cat lovers out there will also enjoy the new Stampin' Up! Cat Punch.

Make adorable cat cards with the Cat Punch by Stampin' Up!

It's one of the fabulous items in the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue - it is perfect for all those cat-themed projects, and of course for all those Halloween crafts and home decor projects.

It is sturdy and will quickly punch out a cat silhouette:

Take a closer look at the Fox Builder Punch by Stampin' Up!

Use this fabulous Fox Builder Punch by Stampin' Up! to create gorgeous cards and home decor projects

The Foxy Friends stamp set and co-ordinating Fox Builder Punch by Stampin' Up!

The gorgeous projects above were created using the Fox Builder Punch and the co-ordinating stamp set Foxy Friends by Stampin' Up!

Aren't they wonderful?

Many of you are lamenting the retirement of the Owl Builder Punch - so many of you bought that punch (thank you) - and were disappointed when it didn't appear in the latest catalogue.

I actually think the Fox Builder Punch is even nicer - it offers more possibilities as it creates a number of animals, as you can see in the cards in the picture.

Check out the Foxy Friends Stamp Set by Stampin' Up! You can create gorgeous forest scenes with this fun stamp set. The Owl Builder Punch was for punching coloured cardstock and paper, and creating owls (and other animals) by assembling those bits of card, although at the end we did have a co-ordinating stamp set.

However the Fox Builder Punch co-ordinates with the Foxy Friends stamp set, so you have a choice of how to use it, and it means the possibilites are endless.

I have seen some brilliant animals made with the Fox Builder Punch - all you have to do is a Google Search and you'll find lots of inspiration. The same goes with any other Stampin' Up! product - simply search for it and look at the images section of Google and you'll find lots of ideas of what to do with that particular item.

The projects above have been created using the Coffee Break Designer Series Paper.

I haven't personally used the Fox Builder Punch in a while so prepare yourself for a barrage of fox-themed cards!

If you have any questions at all about these products, or any other by Stampin' Up! please don't hesitate to contact me on the above email address, I'd only be too happy to help.
