Stampin' Up! Mustache Die

Mustache die, Stampin' Up!

Morning crafty peeps!
Those that are close to me or know me well know I have a thing for the mustache trend - I have mustaches on quite a few items at home. And so (as you can imagine) I was super super happy when Stampin' Up! put a mustache die in the new annual catalogue!! It was the first thing on my to-buy list!

Here I have teamed it with some floral paper (Flower Pot Designer Series Paper) to create a cool and contrasting card.

All these items are available to buy in the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop:

Anniversary High Five!

Good morning crafters
This is an anniversary card I made for my lovely friends who celebrated their first wedding anniversary on Sunday.

High Five, Stampin' Up!

I used the High Five stamp set by Stampin' Up! which is new in the catalogue and has only been available since July 1st. Isn't it gorgeous??

I can see myself using this set over and over again!

A change of colours would completely change the look of the card altogether; I'm thinking shades of blue with a touch of red for a more masculine card, or for a young boy.

This stamp set, along with all the other gorgeous Stampin' Up! supplies you see on this website are available to browse or buy in the Stampin' Up! Online Webshop - just click the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page.
Or view the Catalogue in catalogue-form, using the link, also at the top left hand side of this page.

A very happy first anniversary C & D !!

Happy Birthday Sally!

Good morning everyone
Today's project is a card I made for my lovely Godmother, it was her 60th birthday recently.

She is a Fairy Godmother!  She is a truly wonderful lady, and is the inspiration for my life and spiritual self. She is kind and sweet and has been a marvellous influence on my upbringing.

I made this card using some old Stampin' Up! supplies, as well as some new ones. Often when I make personalised cards I delve into the cupboards to find old supplies with just the right colours or pattern.

To celebrate Sal's birthday (and that of her husband, who is turning 50 this year) we had our very own festival! It was absolutely brilliant and I had the honour of poi-ing at their celebration - it was lots of fun.

Here's a few photos from their special day:

Gorgeous tents with Moroccan chill-out style:

The entertainment line-up for the evening, including me at 9.50pm - eeek!

Me providing some fiery entertainment!

A brilliant time was had by all. Happy birthday Sal!

Don't forget to browse the Official Stampin' Up! webshop - the new Annual Catalogue was released in July so there are lots of new, exciting products to view.
Use the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page to browse or buy via the webshop, or there is a link to the catalogue on the left hand side of this page, also.

Back soon with more inspiration!

By the Tide

As those that follow me will know I've had a few days off here at Crafty Hippy. I've been super busy with Little Hippy and work, and I've also not been very well the last few days. I'm starting to find a bit more balance in my life and as much as I hate not updating my blog I'm learning it's not going to kill me if I don't!

Well I was hoping to get some good, restful sleep last night but the AMAZING thunderstorms (and my daughter!) took care of that. I've been up most the night as a result.

Image from the Telegraph website taken by reader Dr J A Whitehead in Bath.

In the papers this morning they reckon that in two hours alone there was over 3000 lightning flashes recorded, there were certainly two notable storms that came over this part of Surrey. Ironically, my daughter woke up in the lull in between storms, she said the rain woke her! Thankfully she was not aware there were storms happening otherwise she would have needed to come into my bed and that would mean a wriggling, worried chatterbox!! Not brilliant when you have a banging headache and need desperately to sleep. Of course she was as bright as a button this morning and I am somewhat lagging behind!

There is some brilliant footage of lightning strikes in cornwall found on the Telegraph this morning: 3,500 lightning strikes hit the UK and Ireland over three hours ahead of hottest day

Whenever I think of Cornwall I of course think of the sea which has prompted today's post. It is actually a CASE from the lovely Joanne Penney of Toocraftyjo fame (thanks Jo!).

By The Tide, Stampin' Up!

By The Tide, Stampin' Up!

I've used By The Tide to stamp the gorgeous lobster, script and coral. The watercolour effect was made using the Happy Watercolour set which has now retired, but there is a very similar stamp in the new Work Of Art stamp set available now - use the Shop Online Now button to browse or buy the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop.

Thank you for the inspiration Jo!

I'm hoping that Thor will bring us more thunder tonight!

Happiness is....!

I saw this yesterday and it made me chuckle.....

Truly Grateful ~ CAS on Sunday Challenge

Good morning all,
Today's project is my entry into the CAS on Sunday Challenge #37 The challenge theme is "One layer wonder" - a flat design on the card.

I have used the Stampin' Up! "Truly Grateful" stamp set and the little heart from the "Just Sayin'" - plus some ink blots from the "Gorgeous Grunge" (all available from the Stampin' Up! Official Webshop by using the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of the page).

I masked off the wheatsheaf  before stamping the ink dots, and I used some Stampin' Write Markers to ever so slightly shade in the wheat and the bow.

Thank you for stopping by, more card ideas tomorrow.

Hello Honey ~ Hang in There!

Today's project is actually a CASE from American demo Linda Callahan, minus a button and thread. I love this stamp set as you know ("Nuts about You") and have been using it a lot.

It is one of the Hostess sets and can be yours when you spend £150 or more.

I love the little creature that is hanging from the tree, very cute!

The colours I've used are Lost Lagoon, Soft Suede, Night of Navy and Hello Honey.

Don't forget there is a link at the top of the page "Shop Online Now" - click through to browse or buy from the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop.

Back tomorrow with another inspirational card post,

Six Sided Sampler - Retro Sketches Challenge blog

Good morning everyone!
It was so lovely to have a day off yesterday and get on with a bit of crafting. I decided I would take part in a few challenges this week so here's the first; an entry for the Retro Sketches Challenge #122

Here's my card:
Six Sided Sampler Stampin' Up!

And here's the challenge sketch they wanted us to follow:

Some close ups of my card:

Six Sided Sampler Stampin' Up!

Everything Eleanor Stampin' Up!

I used the Stampin' Up! 2013-2015 In Colors but swapped the Baked Brown Sugar for Crumb Cake; a colour I absolutely adore and is one of the most versatile in my humble opinion - it complements so many other colours.
I also left out the Coastal Cabana as it was a little too bright for my project.

Don't forget you can browse or buy - visit the Stampin' Up! Official Webshop using the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of the page and get your hands on lovely craft products of these colours.

Hello, Love

Good morning paper crafters!
This card is perfect for a wet day like today! I made it using the "Hello, Love" Hostess stamp set from Stampin' Up!, and if you scroll down to Sunday's post you'll see another completely different card made from the same set - it is a very diverse stamp set that you can do a lot with.

When you spend over £150 you get £25 to spend absolutely free. The more you spend the higher these Hostess Credits get - and you can spend them on either the special Hostess sets (that you can only buy with these credits), or you can spend your money on absolutely anything in the catalogue.

I think this makes a great masculine card (depending on the colours you use) and of course for heart lovers out there. I've used Night of Navy and Real Red for the colour scheme.

Back tomorrow with another project.

You Make Me Happy - Perfect Pennants

Perfect Pennants, Stampin' Up!

Good evening everyone,
Today's card is another creation using the Perfect Pennants stamp set and the Moonlight paper stack. I've got some new bits hopefully being delivered tomorrow from Stampin' Up! so I look forward to showcasing some new projects soon.

Have you all had a good day? I don't like Mondays much so am pretty glad to have today out the way! Tomorrow is my day off so I can catch up on all the household chores (boring!).

I'l be back tomorrow with another project,

Happy Birthday - to me!

Good evening crafters!
Well, as much as I've wanted to increase my posting again to once a day it hasn't managed to happen over the last week, I'm sorry! It has been SO busy this week and then Mr Hippy came down yesterday (a bonus visit!) as it is my birthday today!

So today's card is dedicated to me, and why not!?

It has been a really lovely couple of days, thank you to everyone that popped in, sent me cards or presents or sent emails and messages, I am a very lucky girl!

Here's my cake - I might now be 33 but clearly I haven't grown up!

And here are the lovely blue lillies Mr Hippy gave me along with some Sunflowers (my favourites) from my lovely neighbour:

Aren't they absolutely stunning? I'll post another picture up of them once they have opened out.

The card I'm showing today features the "Hello Love" Hostess stamp set from Stampin' Up! You can buy this set with your free £25+ when you spend £150 or more (contact me for more details). Hostess sets are only available to those who earn credits and are cheaper than the other sets in the catalogue and so they are great value for money. If you wish to spend your Hostess Credits on other things in the catalogue instead then you are also welcome to do that.

Anyway, I wish you a happy Sunday evening and I'll be back tomorrow.

Sea Street Octopus

Morning crafters!

What a glorious morning! Today I have decided to do absolutely NOTHING in a bid to recharge my batteries a little bit.
Little Hippy has been doing really well getting to school - she even said goodbye without the aid of the teaching assistant this morning -  however I have had to become a bit more relaxed with bedtime to avoid a meltdown (she is really anxious about going to bed), but this means she is asleep not long before me which is really tiring and means I don't get much time to myself these days.

As the weather is so lovely today we are off to a BBQ later, and judging by the amount of beach tents we have been selling at work this week a lot of people will be hitting the beach! So I decided I should make a beach-related card. I opted to use the sweet little octopus in Sea Street, one of the new stamp sets from the new Stampin' Up! annual catalogue which was launched on Tuesday.

Stampin' Up! Sea Street

I've added some tiny pearls for bubbles and used some of the Lost Lagoon wavy paper from our "Moonlight" paper stack to give the illusion of water. Isn't it cute??

I've placed my first order from the new catalogue, just have the agony of waiting now!! There is a link on the left hand side of this page if you'd like to view it online.

Back tomorrow with another project, enjoy the sunshine everyone!

Morning crafters!

Morning everyone!
Firstly, a BIG thanks to all the ladies that came to classes this week, it was lovely to see you all and enjoy some precious time together crafting, I hope you liked the projects that we made and I will let you all know when the next class will be.

Are you all enjoying the new catalogue?? There is a link on the left hand side of the page for anyone that would like to have a look but hasn't got a hard copy. The products are available from the Official Stampin' Up! webshop, just press the "Shop Online Now" button to browse or buy. If you'd like a hard copy of a catalogue then do get in touch and I'll send you one out.

I leave you with today's card; another made with the post-it note technique, isn't it fab? I don't think the photograph does it justice, actually.

Back tomorrow!

Good morning all!

Today the new Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue begins!! The moment we've all been waiting for -  Wooohoooooo!

To celebrate the NEW Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue a group of us Stampin' Up! demonstrators decided to do a blog-hop so that we could show you all what lovely products (and projects you can make from these products) are available!
Don't forget to visit the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop to browse or buy. Just use the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page and make sure my name is at the top (Lauren Huntley) to select me as your demonstrator.

If you'd like to join as a demonstrator and join in all the fun, then select the Join tab at the top of the page.

Buttons for the Blog Hop (to go forwards and backwards) are found below at the bottom of the page.

Here's my card for the day:

Again, this is a card I made for Mr Hippy. I wanted to make him a scary trees forest (he likes strange things!) and I thought it would be a different way to use the tree out of the new "Nuts about You" Hostess stamp set. I have added stars (which I carved from the Undefined Stamp Carving Kit) and some rhinestones for added twinkle.
I just love the "You & Me" tree heart carving from Nuts about You to add to the tree.

Ok, so off on your Blog Hop adventure. The next blog up is Kate Skelton's:

And to go back to Cayleigh May's:

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the Blog Hop!!
