Hello Love!

Good morning all.
It's Monday again, they seem to come around so quick these days! What did you all get up to? I spent the weekend chilling out and preparing myself for another crazy busy week ahead. I have two classes at the beginning, and so it will be non-stop for a few days.

Today I thought I'd show a simple card off as a contrast!

This was made using one of the new Hostess Stamp Sets which will be available from tomorrow onwards. The set is called "Hello Love" and is just gorgeous.

I've used the colours Hello Honey (a new one) and Elegant Eggplant which go together beautifully.

The new annual Stampin' Up! catalogue will be out tomorrow (I can't wait!!) so remember to call back and check out the Official Webshop by clicking the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of this site.

Thank you for stopping by!

Family cards and a Potato Clock

Morning everyone!

I promised Little Hippy that I would post up a picture of one of her cards and put it on my blog, and tell you all about it, so here it is:

She made this for Mr Hippy who (along with his dad) is always joking about getting up at "Potato Clock". Being a bit random in the Hippy Household we talk about this ALL the time.  It comes from the following joke:

Paddy goes into a John Lewis department store and asks the shopkeeper "Excuse me Sir but do you sell Potato Clocks?"
The shopkeeper looks at him and says "Are you taking the p*ss? We sell Cuckoo Clocks, Carriage Clocks, Grandfather Clocks, Alarm Clocks.... what the feck is a Potato Clock?"
Paddy says: "I don't know but I start my new job at nine tomorrow, and my wife said "You'd better get a potato clock...."

So she has made a picture of an actual Potato Clock (you can get them, Google them!) but as you can see she hasn't quite got the joke seeing as she has 9.30 down as the time.... but then she is six!!

We enjoy making cards together and it is brilliant therapy for all the stress we are under at the minute. I like to make cards for Mr Hippy while he is working away. Here's the latest card I sent him:

Nuts about You, Stampin' Up!

This is actually a SNEAK PEEK preview!! These stamps are from a set called "Nuts about You" which is just GORGEOUS and will be one of the new Hostess Sets in the new Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue (starting on the 1st July).

Nuts about You, Stampin' Up!

The hearts were stamped from the tiny heart in the Just Sayin' set, and I have done a few little additions with a marker pen (the grass and the dots in the sky). Mr Hippy loved it!

Don't forget you can browse or buy in the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop by using the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page, and new products will be available from the 1st July 2014.

Hello, Sailor

High Tide, Hello, Sailor, Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
I'm waiting for Little Hippy to get ready for school so I thought I might as well use this small opportunity to post. No doubt she is managing to get copious amounts of water all over the bathroom right now, so I thought this card would be apt!

This morning's project was created very simply by using the High Tide designer series paper and Hello, Sailor stamp set. I thought that the paper was so beautiful and evocative in itself (swirling stormy water with fish) so I've added a little bit of stamping which doesn't stand out too much.... I think it's like a little piece of art!

Both High Tide and Hello, Sailor are retiring at the end of this month when the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue finishes, so if you'd like to get your hands on these still there is still time to order them. Use the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of the page to browse or buy the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop.

Regarding Dahlias

Regarding Dahlias, Stampin' Up!

A super quick post today. This is a really quick card to make and features the lovely Dahlia out of the "Regarding Dahlias" Stampin' Up! set. I love it and I use it a lot. I've used Elegant Eggplant for the flower and some Tempting Turquoise for the simple sentiment.

I've used some simple Silver Baker's Twine and some Crumb Cake cardstock. A simple greetings card made in just a few seconds.

Perfect Pennants #2

Perfect Pennants, Stampin' Up!

Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you are all enjoying the GORGEOUS weather today! Not a bit like the water drops on today's project, in fact it is very hot and sunny here in Surrey! I have received some new stamps today so I am indoors having a go with those; I should probably be doing something useful but it's been a tough week with Little Hippy and so having some time for me today. And why not?

This card is a slightly different take on Sunday's card - it's basically the same but with slightly different colours and layout. It's amazing how changing elements ever-so-slightly can give a card a completely different look.

The sentiment is from "Perfect Pennants" and again I have used some "Moonlight" designer paper stack paper. Some silver Bakers Twine and some Rhinestones, all mounted on "Crumb Cake" cardstock and all available from Stampin' Up! on the 1st July 2014.

You can browse or buy from the Stampin' Up! Official Webshop by using the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page.

Back tomorrow!

Happy Together - A Dozen Thoughts

Happy Monday everyone!
Today's card is inspired by my love for Mr Hippy.

A Dozen Thoughts, Stampin' Up!, Perfect Pennants

As anyone that follows this blog knows the last year and a half haven't been very easy. Last July I found myself on my own again, my boyfriend having left with no notice. We were such good friends but it turns out it wasn't right for him.  It was a complete shock and for a while I was very, very sad. Just getting through the day was hard enough, let alone get creative, and anyway; all my creativity had done a runner.

In the months that followed I went on a couple of disastrous dates (a friend egged me on to trying internet dating, something I said I'd NEVER do) and so I decided that enough was enough; it was a bit of time for me. I'd had enough of men and had come to the realisation that in my position (being a single mum and all) it would probably take years to find a decent bloke, let alone manage to find enough dates (to find this perfect man) to go on.

So I resigned myself to a few years at least being single and being the spiritual, optimistic girl I am I wasn't too worried about this. I'd decided that the perfect man was out there for me but not to worry about finding him. A time to grow and change and nurture the relationship with my little girl whilst I went on my way.
Without realising it my whole world was about to change!

Whilst I was waiting for the last payment of my internet dating subscription to go through (so I could cancel it!) I received an email from a chap who seemed very nice. His email was friendly (and not too friendly), he didn't curse or make suggestions I was uncomfortable with. He was very proper and polite and seemed to enjoy all the things I did. I found myself thinking... "Oh go on, just one more date"... so I went on one more date.... and the rest, as they say, is history.

Unbelievably we've been together nine months nearly already, and I'm looking forward to what the next year brings! Lots of exciting things are in the pipeline for Mr Hippy and I.... Watch this space! I don't want to give away too much yet!

So back to the card then! The sentiment "happy together" (isn't that sweet?) is from "A Dozen Thoughts" and the heart is from the "Perfect Pennants" stamp set - both from Stampin' Up! of course. I have used the "Gorgeous Grunge" set for the ink spots and some rhinestones to set it off. The colours I've used are Melon Mambo, Coastal Cabana and Elegant Eggplant.

Back tomorrow with another idea for you all,
Happy Crafting,

Happy Summer Solstice!

Good afternoon everyone! And a very happy Summer Solstice for yesterday, to those who celebrate.

I watched the sun come up at Avebury stone circle yesterday morning after spending the whole night awake in anticipation. I was joined by a lovely group of friends, old and new, and when the moment came we weren't disappointed; it was the most beautiful sunrise and the day that ensued was just gorgeous.

So I am waning a little today it must be said!!

I made a little wish as the sun came up so I thought that today's card was really apt, both the sentiment and with the colours I've used.

Again, I've used paper from Stampin' UP!'s Moonlight Paper Stack, and the sentiment and star is from the Perfect Pennants stamp set. A bit of Bakers Twine and some rhinestones have set the card off.

Don't forget the current Stampin' Up! catalogue only lasts until the end of the month so get your last minute purchases in before it is too late; many of the stamp sets are retiring, however we will have lots of lovely new ones soon, too! Use the "Shop Online Now" link at the top of the page to browse (or buy from) the Official Webshop.

Have a blessed Sunday everyone!

Moonlight Designer Series Paper

Good afternoon!
Today's card is apt - butterfly wings ask where is the time flying this week?! Along with being busy at work (we had our annual stocktake) I've been making preparations for Summer Solstice.

This project reflects the time of year with sunny yellow honeycomb paper and lovely "Blackberry Bliss" coloured butterfly.  This paper is from our new Moonlight Designer Series Paper Stack - I love the colours in this. You'll recognise the paper doilies, the Papillon Potpourri butterfly stamp and the Four Frames stamp set (the polka-dot frame behind the butterfly); all remaining in the new catalogue.

Get in touch if you'd like to know more about Stampin' Up! products or go ahead and browse or buy in the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop (link is at the top of the page).

I'm off to spend the night in a field of standing stones and welcome the glorious sunrise tomorrow. Have a blessed Summer Solstice tomorrow whatever you are doing to celebrate!

Life in the Forest toadstools

Life in the Forest, Stampin' Up!

Evening everyone,
Just a quick post from me today. Sorry for the lack of posting yesterday, I went back to feeling a bit rubbish again and so I took a well earned day off from blogging. And with Little Hippy's OCD it is difficult sometimes to find the time for things like this! Stick with me for the next few days, though, as I have more projects coming using products from the new Annual Catalogue which will be starting on the 1st July 2014.

Today's project is a simple one using the toadstool stamp from the Life in the Forest stamp set which I absolutely adore! I stamped in black Versamark Ink and then coloured using Cherry Cobbler ink and a Blender Pen. The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

You can browse or buy these products in the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop; just use the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of the page.

Back tomorrow with more designs,
Happy crafting!

Sea Street - Basic Card

Good morning,
Here's another card made with Sea Street, one of the new stamp sets in the new Annual Catalogue from Stampin' Up! I have used four of the stamps from this wonderful set.

Colours used are Night of Navy, Hello Honey, and Blackberry Bliss - these three colours work really well together I think.

I have used the grid paper from the Moonlight designer paper stack, also new out on the 1st July.

Thanks for stopping by!

Two New Colours! 2014-2016

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow

Good morning,
Well it has been a lovely weekend here in the Hippy Household. I've been feeling a bit under the weather as you all know, but have been cheered up by having the gorgeous Mr Hippy down to stay. He's currently working away a lot so any time we can grab together is enjoyed and well spent. He has been pampering me and generally being the angel he is. On Friday night we went out for dinner with my lovely cousin and his girlfriend - the highlight of the evening was accidentally setting fire to the menu - I was happily reading it completely unaware that the top of it was burning - so funny! Poor Mr Hippy is only learning now what he has let himself in for!

As he has been so good to me this weekend I've had a chance to try out two of the New In-Colours from Stampin' Up! which will be available to customers from the 1st July onwards.

These are the bottom and middle colours of this card; they are called "Mossy Meadow" which is a gorgeous shade of green and "Lost Lagoon" which is the gorgeous teal in the middle. (I also used Pool Party for the top which compliments the other two colours brilliantly). The other three colours in the new In-Colour series are: "Hello Honey", "Tangelo Twist" and "Blackberry Bliss".

The sentiment is from "Teeny Tiny Sentiments", an old fave, and the "Lovely as a Tree" stamp set which will also be staying in the new catalogue (hooray!).

Stampin' Up! Lovely as a Tree, Lost Lagoon, Mossy Meadow

There are only two weeks left now before the big day - so exciting! If you'd like a catalogue then please don't hesitate to get in touch and I'll send you one. Browse or buy Stampin' Up! products (in their Official Webshop) by using the "Shop Online Now" link at the top left hand side of this site.

Mr Hippy will be cooking my family a roast dinner for my mum and dad later, looking forward to it! I hope you all enjoy your day, whatever you are doing.

New Catalogue Sneak Peek!

Good afternoon crafters!

Sorry for the delay with this post... I haven't been trying to keep you all in suspense on purpose but I've had a really nasty sore throat and ear ache these last few days. After getting Labrynthitis at the beginning of the year and being unwell with it for weeks on end it seems that if I get a bit run down then my ear starts hurting again - cue lots of falling over as my balance is then out. So funny!

I'm feeling much better today thankfully, so I've had time to photograph the project I was going to show you. It's made with a NEW stamp set that will be in the new Annual Catalogue - so you're getting a little sneak peek of some of the goodies that will soon be yours.

The stamp set is called Sea Street and it features this lovely octopus, and the school of fish. The sentiment is one that will be sticking around (along with the matching dies); so you may recognise that (Itty Bitty Banners). The paper is from one of the new designer paper stacks, it's called "Moonlight" and will be available with all the the other new goodies from the 1st July 2014.

If you'd like a catalogue then please don't hesitate to get in touch and remember you can browse and/or buy Stampin' Up! products from the Official Online Webshop using the "Shop Online Now" button at the top of this blog (left hand side).

Back tomorrow with more inspirational ideas, thank you for stopping by,

Happy Watercolour, Stampin' Up!

Good morning crafters!

This morning's card was made using the Happy Watercolour stamp set, which will actually be retiring at the end of the month (the new catalogue starts 1st July 2014).
This is a brilliant stamp set when the only options for creativity you have are stamping - you get to layer the image up with the watercolour background stamp and the dots and the main image (the flower). Brilliant for those quick-to-make projects.

Of course this card would look completely different with other colours, and would work really well (perhaps better?) for notelet-sized cards...

I'll be back tomorrow with a Sneak-peek project - you'll get to see a project made with something from the new catalogue - so stay tuned!

Enjoy your day today, it is going to be a beautiful day.
Back tomorrow,

Hello, Sailor

Hello, Sailor Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone,
Another nautical card today, I absolutely love anything to do with the sea when it comes to crafting! There is so much scope for your imagination.

I absolutely adore this sentiment - "you're my best mate" and it comes from the "Hello Sailor" stamp set found in the Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Catalogue:

Hello, Sailor Stampin' Up!

The matching paper is called "High Tide", and I added a little bit of Silver Baker's Twine and some tiny rhinestones.

All of these products can be found in the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop (use the "Shop Now" button at the top of the page to browse or buy) but don't forget that the new catalogue will be coming out on the 1st July so these products will be retiring! Get 'em while you can!

Back tomorrow with more inspiration! Have a crafty day,

Modern Medley Paper teamed with Chevron Punch

Good morning all!
We're back round to Monday again and what a week that was. I was kept extremely busy with work and Little Hippy. Little Hippy is six and has a lot of energy as most six year olds do! I often get to the end of the weekend absolutely shattered and not at all rested ready for the working week to begin. Today is certainly no exception!

Here is a recent picture of her for all the Little Hippy fans:

Today's creation is very similar to the rainbow card I posted a couple of weeks ago. I've used the Chevron Punch to punch out a decorative pattern along the bottom of the card front, and lined it with Stampin' Up!'s Modern Medley Designer Series Paper. The sentiment is from "Happy Day" which is also retiring at the end of the month (new catalogue coming on the 1st July - hooray!).

A perfect masculine card.

Stampin' Up! Wetlands and Happy Watercolour

Stampin' Up! Wetlands, Happy Watercolour

Good morning,
Super simple card today. I've used the gorgeous watercolour stamp from the Happy Watercolour set to lay down some colour in the background (Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist). I stamped some of the colour off first before adding it to my project.

I then used Ear;y Espresso to stamp the image and the sentiment, both from the Wetlands stamp set which looks like this:

Stampin' Up! Wetlands, Happy Watercolour

I have been using this stamp set a lot recently, it is surprisingly versatile. The Whisper White card front was then mounted on a Whisper White card.

Perfect for masculine cards or maybe even a sympathy card (if made with more elegant colours).

Don't forget you can browse (or buy in) the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop by using the "Shop Now" button at the top of the page.

Thank you for stopping by.

Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge

Stampin' Up! Truly Grateful

Here's my entry for this week's Sunday Sketch and Stamp Challenge. I've used Stampin' Up!'s "Truly Grateful stamp set which I had in my stash. I teamed that with Crushed Curry and Night of Navy cardstock, and used Stampin' Up!'s largest circle punch to cut out the wheatsheaf. I used Early Espresso ink for the stamping and also the sentiment, which is also from the Truly Grateful set.

This was the plan for the challenge:

I hope you liked my take on my entry! Back tomorrow with my usual inspirational post. We will be another sleep closer to the new catalogue - hooray!

You're Amazing tie-dye card

You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

This is a follow on from Thursday's card - I've used the same technique but different colours and stamps. This card contains hues of Pool Party, Coastal Cabana and Bermuda Bay - graduating colour rather than contrasting colours this time around. It works just as well!

You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

The balloon is from the "You're Amazing" stamp set which is retiring at the end of the month as we move into the new catalogue. Not long to go now, I am getting so excited!! If you'd like a catalogue then please don't hesitate to drop me a line and I'll get one sent out to you.

Wetlands tie-dye card

Good morning stampers!
A minimal, yet bright and colourful card today - I had so much fun making this card.

I used Whisper White cardstock and Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Rich Razzleberry inks. I got the inspiration for this card from an American Demonstrator called LeeAnn Greff, so even though I've used different stamps credit goes to her.

I've used the wheat stamp from the "Wetlands" stamp set and the "thank you" sentiment from the "Happy Watercolour" set. I've used Basic Black ink to stamp these. So simple and effective.

You can browse or buy Stampin' Up! products in their Official Webshop by clicking the "Shop Now" link at the top of the page. We only have until the 30th June for the current catalogue, please let me know if you'd like a copy of the new annual catalogue (starting 1st July) and I'll send you one out.

Walk in the Wild - Stampin' Up!

Walk in the Wild, Happy Watercolour stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
How are you all today? What crafty things will you be (or have you been) creating today?

I wanted to show an animal project today and so I made this card. It has been CASEd from demonstrator Dena Lenneman ~ although my background, mounting paper and sentiment are all a little different from her creation.

Walk in the Wild, Happy Watercolour stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Instead of brayering some colour onto the background I actually used a stamp from the "Happy Watercolour" set, the sentiment is from that, too.

The pheasant is from the "Walk in the Wild" stamp set; as always everything used here is from Stampin' Up! and you can browse or buy the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop by clicking the "Shop Now" link at the top of this site.

Three Flowers - Happy Day

Stampin' Up! Happy Day

Here is my second challenge card of the day for The Crafter's Cafe Challenge - this time the challenge was to use at least three flowers on your card so here is my creation.

The "hello there" sentiment is from the Happy Day stamp set which I use an awful lot. I'll be very sad to see it go! I couldn't resist finishing this project off with pearls, lots of pearls!

Back tomorrow with more stampy ideas,

Sentiment Challenge

I wanted to start taking part in some crafty challenges so I have chosen one from The Cheerful Stamp Pad.

The Cheerful Stamp Pad Challenge  was to use a sentiment as the main focal point of the card. I love nautical themed cards and as it has been a while since we had one thought this would be perfect! I'm not usually a great fan of the colour blue, but am really pleased how it has come out.

I've used the You're Amazing stamp set along with Itty Bitty Banners - teamed up with the Bitty Banners Framelits and Ovals Framelits. I've used the High Tide paper and some Night of Navy cardstock. All available through Stampin' Up! (click the Shop Now button at the top of the page to browse or buy these products).

Do you take part in any card making challenges? Can you suggest any?

Hello There - Stampin' Up! Happy Day

Stampin' Up! Happy Day, Chevron Punch

Good morning crafters,
A quick and easy project today ~ but one I think you'll agree is simply beautiful. This card was made so easily using some Whisper White cardstock and some slithers of some coloured cardstock. I opted for bright colours - Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Tempting Turquoise and Rich Razzleberry. I used the Chevron Punch to create the holes and then covered the slits with the cardstock - easy!

The sentiment (stamped in Basic Black ink) is from the Happy Day set which is retiring at the end of the month - the new Annual Catalogue will be packed full of lovely new products (and a handful of the old ones, too) so have a browse at the Official Stampin' Up! Webshop "Retirement List"; just click the "Shop Now" button at the top of the page to have a look at what's going.

Stampin' Up! Wetlands

Stampin' Up! Wetlands

Good morning crafters!
Today's project is a very simple card featuring the Wetlands stamp set. I've stamped the birds three times making sure to line them up with a Stamp-a-majig to create a line of birds. So simple yet so effective.

Having used Black StazOn ink to stamp the birds, I've used two Stampin' Write markers and a Blender pen to shade around them giving the project a little bit of colour. Using the StazOn means the image you have stamped won't smudge as you blend the colour in.

Don't forget you can order or browse the Stampin' Up! webshop using the "Shop Now" button at the top of the screen. Back tomorrow with more project ideas,
