Craft fair fun!

We had so much fun yesterday! We got up super early and joined the car-booters for a table-top sale at Mytchett Community Centre:

Business was quite slow as it was so gorgeous and sunny outside, and a lot of people didn't realise we were inside the hall (the car-boot was outside) but we had a great time anyway and met lots of other traders. We are all ready for our fair at the end of the month, now.

Here are some of the candles I took with me - not hugely popular but I think it was the wrong time to sell these; I have no doubt they will go down well at Christmas:

I have so much exciting news in the next couple of days - our next "Best Of" set and of course the release of the new Annual Catalogue on Tuesday. So stay posted!

Animal Talk

Good morning Stampin' Uppers!

As you know I'm at a craft fair with my lovely down-line Lynne today; so it's a fairly quick post from me, and then I'll update you all about our adventure tomorrow.

Today's card was actually CASE'd from the new Annual Catalogue which starts 2nd July 2013 (you can order a copy of this using the button on the top r.h.s. of this page) - Animal Talk is actually a stamp set that is carrying over into the new catalogue from the old one, which I personally am really pleased about as this stamp set has bags of character:

Animal Talk, Stampin' Up!

If you're wondering what shade of orange I've used that's actually Tangerine Tango - not a colour I can say I use often, but it turns out it is a fantastic colour to use! I shall definitely try to be more adventurous with colour from now on.

If you'd like to make this card then please get in touch and I'll give you the details - it was created using only Stampin' Up! products; and as a SU demonstrator I am able to help you with any queries or orders you may have.

Stampin' Candles

Good afternoon everyone,
Well this week has been sooo busy, I've been working on a commission for some wedding stationery - a huge table plan, favours for 100 people and 10 table centre-pieces; plus I've had classes this week, I've got a Stampin' Up! party tonight and I have a craft fair tomorrow.

All this of course has been teamed with the regular chores that need doing at home, plus job hunting, and attending some activities at my daughter's school (it was the school family picnic today) plus I made it to the gym this morning, too.

It's fair to say that I'm now pretty pooped!

One of the things I've been enjoying creating this week is decorated candles. All you need is tissue paper and a heat-gun - isn't the result magic?

This stamp is one that's about to retire (from the Stampin' Up! "You are Loved" set) available through me until the 1st July - I think it worked perfectly with the Real Red ink. A candle that you'd be proud to display in your home, I think.

You are Loved, Stampin' Up!

I've decorated a variety of candles ready for the craft fair tomorrow (wish me luck!). I shall post some more pictures of them up at a later date.

You are Loved, Stampin' Up!

I'm collecting Lynne at 6.30am tomorrow morning - I'm looking forward to a lay-in on Sunday!

Please get in touch if you would like to know more about Stampin' Up! products or if you would like a catalogue or to place an order - I'd only be too glad to help.

I'll be back after the fair with mine and Lynne's adventure!

More jotters....

Morning all!

Established Elegance, Stampin' Up!

The craft fair I am doing is looming! I have been decorating all sorts of notepads and jotters ready for our sale.

I've used the typewriter stamp from the retiring "Established Elegance" set from Stampin' Up! which is just perfect for a jotter! The "First Edition" DSP also goes perfectly.

I was so happy with this and I hope that my customers snap them up!

If you haven't worked it out yet I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator so I can help you with all your enquiries and orders, all you have to do is drop me a line at

Back tomorrow!

Probably my favourite sentiment from the new "Happy Day" set that will be appearing in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue starting 2nd July 2013. I've also used the Natural Composition paper that will be carrying over - I have really fallen in love with this stuff:

Happy Day, Stampin' Up!

Such gorgeous crafting supplies! Love them.

I've used the new In Colours, too, so this card is a proper sneak-peek - there are only 6 more sleeps until the new catalogue begins after all. If you'd like your copy then use the Pre-order button at the top of the page and I'll get one sent out to you ready for the fun to begin!

Happy Day, Stampin' Up!

I love the way the Natural Composition paper is embossed, adds an extra dimension to your projects with no extra work from you at all!

Back tomorrow crafty peeps, don't forget to pass your Stampin' Up! enquiries over to me, I'd love to help!

The Open Sea

Lulworth Cove

Good morning Crafty Hippies!
We managed to get away at the weekend; it was a very impromptu jump-in-the-van-quick type trip and we hit the road not knowing exactly where we would end up......

Durdle Door

We found ourselves at Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door... It was a beautiful day and although these pictures from my mobile don't really do the day or the scenery justice, you do get some idea of its beauty.

This stretch of coastline is part of the Jurassic coast - it is so evocative and even 'feels' Jurassic if you can catch my drift (excusing the pun!).

Of course this meant that when I got home I had to make a sea-themed card. This is a CASE'd card, though; my version of Crafting Clare's card. Very cleverly she used the Woodgrain stamp for the rolling sea.... a totally inspired idea.

I used a Brayer to colour both the sky and the sea, and strips of Cherry Cobbler card to line the picture. The  stamp set is "The Open Sea" and the sentiment is from "Delightful Dozen"; and sets off the card perfectly. You could change the sentiment to "Happy Birthday" and this would make a perfect masculine card.

Demonstrator swaps

One of the benefits of being a demonstrator for Stampin' Up! is that you get to meet lots of other Demos at events and we often trade "swaps".

These are card fronts or small gifts that have been made with Stampin' Up! products and they're useful for ideas for future projects and parties, or for showcasing at events.

Today's card has been inspired by a swap that I got from one of the German demonstrators I met at Convention last year. I have tweaked the colours and the stamp set and the layout.

Why not become a demonstrator? It's lots of fun and there are many other benefits of joining up. I am an active up-line - that means I actively help and support those that decide to join my team.

More information can be found on this site and we can have a no obligation chat - don't hesitate to get in touch to know more.   07896 314573

Postage Due

Short post today!

I've used the Postage Due stamp set here and some Fan Fair DSP to cover this notebook ready for the upcoming craft fair at the end of the month. Some Bakers Twine Cotton and Voila! Boring notebook transformed into cool, bespoke notebook!

Saturday, 22 June 2013

Thanks a ton! Again!

More from my little whale friend.....

I'll be super sad when he disappears at the end of the month! As you know I've used him so much since I got him, but I can't wait to see what Stampin' Up! replace him with! I'd like a big elephant, a fox or a cat stamp.

Summer Love

Morning everyone!
And a very happy and blessed Solstice to those who celebrate it!

I love the summer. One of my favourite things about the summer is the weddings! It seems I have reached "that age" whereby a lot of people seem to be getting married (or having babies) - and so I have a few weddings to attend.

One of those I am doing the stationery for. I will be showing you all the work I did after the event (which is yet to come) but here is one small sneak-peek (I'm full of those this week!) now:

It's a label for a table-plan. I have used a plethora of stamps and images to build up this beautifully vintage tag. I'm really pleased with it and can't wait to show you more!

If you have an up-coming wedding I can provide you with everything you need to make your own bespoke, beautiful stationery for the day - name place-cards, invites, thank you cards, favours and whatever else you require. All you need is a little imagination, some help from me and wonderful Stampin' Up! products.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more, require a catalogue, would like to order or for any other Stampin' Up! enquiries -

Smile! Another sneak peek!

Happy Day, Stampin' Up!

Good morning!
Here's another of those notepads. I've used some Polkadot Parade DSP and a sentiment from a brand new set (coming 2nd July 2013) which contains this lovely "Smile" sentiment. I'm not going to give any more away than that!

I think this notepad has something of the vintage about it (or Minnie Mouse! lol!).

You can easily decorate notepads and notebooks with designer paper to give them a new lease of life, or to give as a gift.

If you'd like to order Stampin' Up! products then contact me on:  - don't forget there is a Pay Now button on the top left hand corner of the screen to pre-order your copy of the new Annual Catalogue; it will be sent to your address ready for July 2nd.

Until tomorrow,

Friendship? Yes please!

As you all know we went climbing on Sunday. It is one of Mr Hippy's hobbies and we went with his friend Mr Chill, plus Mr Chill's girlfriend.

It was lovely to escape it all and catch up with good friends. I had a go but as it was my first time in many, many years I am obviously a complete novice and didn't get very far! Suffice to say I still ached the next day, and thankfully there are no damning pictures of me in a harness(!).

Here are the boys doing their thing; Mr Hippy is belaying for Mr Chill:

Of course being away meant that I didn't get anything done over the weekend, which is both a blessing and a curse. I should have been preparing for the upcoming Craft Fair but I've had a little bit of time this week to catch up. Here's one of the notepads I've made ready to sell:

From my Heart, Stampin' Up!

It features a beautiful stamp from the set "From My Heart" - which has all sorts of beautiful sentiments on. I cleverly used a circle punch to cut around it and I re-stamped it so that I could cut out the Friendship banner at the top; which I then mounted with sticky pads. I love it! What do you think??

Here is the "From My Heart" stamp set:

From My Heart, Stampin' Up!

It is available through me as are all Stampin' Up! products. If you'd like to order or have any questions then please don't hesitate to get in touch:

New In Colours sneak-peek

Good morning everyone!

I thought we'd have a bit of a sneak peek today and look at the new In Colours that will be available in the new Annual Catalogue from 2nd July onwards:

In Color 2013-2015 Stampin' Up!

Aren't they gorgeous?? I'm thinking Ice Cream Parlours....  Strawberry and Pistachio ice cream and mint choc chip - yum!! These aren't the names but they aren't far off. Oh, I'm such a tease!

Here's a close up:

In Color 2013-2015 Stampin' Up!

I've used a mixture of punches (square, Scallop circle) and some dies (Sizzlits and Framelits). The sentiment I've used is also a sneak-peek from the new catalogue.

If you'd like a copy of the new catalogue then you can pre-order it using the button at the top left hand side of this page - it will be sent out to you ready for the commencement date of July 2nd. It is packed full of beautiful ideas and products.

If you have any questions then don't hesitate to get in touch!

Happy Musical Birthday!

Good morning everyone!

You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

This week I have been working hard as I have a craft fair coming up in a couple of weeks' time. I shall post up the details nearer the time but it's in Mytchett on the 29th June 2013.

As well as having a Stampin' Up! table I shall have a table with which to sell my crafts on, so do come along!

You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

This means a lot of the cards you've seen recently will be on sale at the fair. This card has been made using the "You're Amazing" set from Stampin' Up! and the musical notes are made using a Stampin' Around Wheel. I used a brayer to apply some Wisteria Wonder to the centre. The beautiful dotty pattern around the oval is made using a "Designer Frame" - an embossing folder which you run through the Big Shot.

If you've seen any Stampin' Up! craft supplies that you'd like to purchase on this blog then contact me - I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I can sort your order for you:

Get Whale Soon...

Oh, Whale! Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
Are you having a good weekend? We're off to Kent this morning for a climbing trip (Mr Hippy enjoys a bit climbing), apparently the weather should be a bit better over there ~ it is grey and hugely uninspiring here in Surrey.

This morning's card is a CASE from Stamps to Die for. I've been doing a few more CASE'd cards for the blog recently - not because I like copying but because there are some amazing creations out there and it's lovely to have a go and show you that anyone can do it.

Here's that famous whale again (he's been used a lot this month!):

Oh, Whale! Stampin' Up!

This was such a simple card to make but is really beautiful. I used two pieces of blue DSP and then simply layered the waves. I made them using a circle punch so it was so easy.

The sentiment and the hearts are also from the "Oh, Whale!" stamp set ~ this is only available until the end of the month as it is retiring. It can be found in the Spring/Summer catalogue and is priced at £20.95 for wood-mount and £16.95 for clear.

If you have seen any craft supplies on this blog that you'd like to purchase then please get in touch - as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I can order these items for you; I'd love to be your demonstrator!

Details can be found at the top right hand side of this page.

Back tomorrow, enjoy your Sunday everyone!

You're Amazing Washi Tape

Good morning everyone,
I've been playing with that washi tape again! This card has been made using the Epic Day This & That washi tape - I used it to create stripes going down the card and then stuck a huge sentiment on top! Despite using a Coral colour (Calypso Coral) I think this is a perfect card for a man.

Stampin' Supplies needed for this card:

Classic Stampin' Pads (ink): Basic Black
Card stock: Whisper White, Calypso Coral
Stamp Sets: You're Amazing, Teeny Tiny Sentiments, French Foliage
Punches: Corner Punch
Other: This & That Washi Tape, Stampin' Dimensionals, Stampin' Write Marker, SNAIL adhesive, Scissors

Don't forget being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I can order for you wherever you are in the UK - drop me an email or telephone with your requirements!   07896 314573

Kindess Matters Crumb Cake

Good morning crafters!

This is a card I CASE'd from Ilina Crouse; isn't it beautiful? It utilises the Kindness Matters set which will sadly be retiring at the end of this month.

The butterflies were cut out by hand and mounted on some Crumb Cake card stock which I have stamped with the same colour using the French Foliage set (also retiring).

This & That Gig Tickets

This & That, Stampin' Up!

Good morning!
Those of you that follow this blog will know that I finally took the plunge last week and started my This & That journal; choosing to decorate it with old tickets from past concerts and gigs and days out.

The matching papers, washi tape and stickers really help create a co-ordinated piece of art and an extra bit of stamping here and there really sets off the look.

This & That journal (and its accessories) is still available and will be appearing in the new Annual Catalogue (due out 2nd July) so you aren't too late to grab yours.

Please get in touch if you would like to know more about this product or anything else that you've seen on this Stampin' Up! blog - and don't forget I can order for you, too.

Until tomorrow crafters!

Stampin' Up! Designer Series Papers

One of the best things about Stampin' Up! is their designer series papers. There are SO many to choose from!

This card has very little stamping and the bulk of the card front has been made using their Patio Party DSP. This makes for a quick and easy card.

All orders can be taken at

Designer Frames embossing folders

Good afternoon!
Here's a super quick post today as I am preparing for a workshop for later tonight! This card was inspired by the Designer Frames Embossing folders (which I am pleased to say will be in the next Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue!) which you run through the Big Shot- here you can see I have used the square one in Wisteria Wonder. I've based the rest of my card around that.

Stampin' Supplies for this card:

Classic Stampin' Pads: Wisteria Wonder, Early Espresso, Sahara Sand
Card stock: Whisper White, Wisteria Wonder
Designer Series Paper: First Edition
Stamp Sets: You're Amazing, French Script, Itty Bitty Banners
Adhesives: SNAIL adhesive, 2 Way Glue Pen, Stampin' Dimensionals (sticky foam pads),
Accessories: Designer Frames, Labels Collection Framelits, Big Shot
Other: Dazzling Diamonds glitter, Crumb Cake Stampin' Write Marker, Scissors, Stampin' Mist & Scrub,

This & That

Good morning all!

Well, I finally took the plunge and started my This & That book. I started off with the front cover and used the This & That stickers and matching designer series paper to decorate it:

I also added a bit of stamping too - I used the ink blots and the post stamp from the French Foliage set (which is sadly retiring at the end of this month) with some Basic Grey ink:

Sometimes I get a bit nervous about starting a new project; it's hard to take that initial jump in but I'm so glad I did!

I'm using my This & That book to store old tickets that I've saved from various gigs, adventures and days out. I've been collecting them on and off since 2008 and now I have the perfect place to store them.

The This & That range is still available; please contact me for more details

A Curly Cute thanks

Fabulous Florets, Curly Cute Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone!
Well, what a beautiful weekend. I think most of us have been out in the garden at some point so I thought the next card for this blog had to be one with flowers on.

I love this flower from Fabulous Florets; I have used this set non-stop since I got it. I have stamped over some Patio Party designer series paper and then carefully cut the flowers out. Isn't it cute??

The "Thank you" sentiment is one from the set "Curly Cute" which is retiring at the end of the month. If you'd like to invest in this set then now is the time to purchase it!

Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator you can of course call or telephone any orders you have through to me; I'd only be too glad to help!

Enjoy the rest of your weekend and I'll see you back here tomorrow,

Washi Tape and CASE

Good morning!
Here at Stampin' Up! our ethic is what we call "CASE" - that is we "copy and share everything".

This is because we love what we do and we want to share it with our customers, people that are interested in Stampin' Up! and other demonstrators. Sharing (as demonstrators) helps provide support with planning classes and demonstrations, and ensures we can all have a go at the wonderful designs out there made possible by using our wonderful craft supplies (and the brains of our other demos!!). Another of the many benefits to being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator (ask me about it!).

I don't often CASE designs, but every now and then I see something that catches my eye that I'll want to have a go at. More often than not I tweak it enough for it to become my own, anyway.

Today's card is a CASE of one designed by "Crafting Clare" Vicky Hayes, with little tweaking, so credit must go to her. It uses the Washi tape from the Epic Day "This and That" suite of products.

If you don't already know what Washi tape is it's a low tack tape. It sticks well but is fairly repositionable; you can tear it and stamp on it and write on it - it's brilliant stuff!

This and That Washi tape, Stampin' Up!

I've used 3 colours in this card; Crumb Cake, Basic Black and Calyspo Coral. I used one of the Teeny Tiny Sentiments stamps which says "friend to friend". The blotches and postage stamp are from "French Foliage" (retiring soon; get your set now) and I think this makes a great card for a guy.

You get three rolls of Washi tape (the three shown) for £4.50 (5.95 Euros) in the This and That Washi tape pack, which is a bargain. Please contact me if you'd like to order some.

Until tomorrow!

Your questions - All about me

Good morning crafters!
We'll have the daily card post at the bottom, but today we're going with a different format. Yesterday I received a lovely message from a wonderful lady who apparently follows this blog religiously (thank you) but wanted to know (and see) more about the person behind this blog....

Since I am a real person (!) and this blog is mine to do whatever I like with (woohoo!) I thought "why not?" So here's a little bit about me:

I'm Lauren, I'm nearly 32 and I live in Surrey. I'm mum to a girl of 5 and I live with her and my partner ~ who has a huge beard and hair longer than mine, and is affectionately known on this blog as "Mr Hippy" ~ and we're very happy.

I think it's fair to say that I'm completely bonkers, and I'm lucky enough to have loads of friends (more than I can keep up with!) who would likely agree with that first statement.

We don't have a telly at home and so I have many hobbies- Fire Poi, fabric crafting, cross stitch, reading, listening to music, helping Mr Hippy do up our old VW T4 van and of course being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator ~ and running this blog. I run monthly card making workshops from my home, and I adore every aspect of paper crafting and sharing what I love.

We like to get to Festivals when we can, our little hippy escape from everything - and Mr Hippy and I just love being outdoors. Camping, walking and Geo-caching are more favourite things.

I worship the sun and anything that is bright, colourful or creative.

When I'm not looking after my family and doing all those other things I model for artists; mainly on a Pagan theme (think robes and medieval dresses, chalices bodhrans, standing stones) and I have been known to do some vintage modelling; and nude modelling for some fine art, too.

Most would pigeon hole me as a "Pagan" - that is I follow the old ways and the old calendar; celebrating and marking the seasons. Though I would call me "Me".
I'm pretty liberal in my views, though I can be old-fashioned at times; and I'd like to think I'm easy to get on with ~ though I can be feisty and I'll stand up for what I believe in.

I'm committed to providing excellent service as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator ~ I love what I do ~ and I'm working on it being my main source of income, which is gradually manifesting itself.

So that's me in a nutshell really!

Today's card is one made using the Rock'n'Roll technique - I've used Summer Starfruit and Raspberry Ripple for ink colours. I love this set "Summer Silhouettes" I've used the script stamp from French Foliage in the background. I am so sad to see French Foliage go; it is not going to be in the new Annual Catalogue (which starts 2nd July); if you'd like to buy this set before it disappears then time is running out.

Summer Silhouettes, Stampin' Up!

Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have seen something on this blog that catches your eye; I'd be more than happy to help you with your Stampin' Up! order.
