Stampers 6 Club

Good evening everyone!

I'm looking to start my Stampers 6 Club soon and still have space!

When your wish list is longer than your arm, a Stampers 6 place is a brilliant way to budget your purchases over a 6 month period and receive the hostess benefits for one of those months.

By purchasing £25 of Stampin’ Up! products every month for 6 months you build up your stamping supplies, stay on budget, and receive free goods.

Here’s how it works:

When you host a workshop, you need a minimum of £150 in sales to qualify for £25 of hostess pounds from the catalogue. So;

- In the Stampers 6 Club there are 6 members
- The Club runs for 6 months
- Each member agrees to spend a minimum of £25 per month, before postage
- Each month a different club member is the hostess and receives the extra £25 to spend on whatever they like in the catalogue.
-None of the members have to host a physical workshop.
- You’ll also get a free copy of the catalogue, if you don’t already have one

By joining my Stampers 6 Club, you get the chance to spread the cost while building up your collection and are still able to enjoy the free benefits.
Please let me know if you'd like a place by emailing

You're Amazing

Good morning everyone!

"You're Amazing" is the name of the stamp set I've used in today's inspirational card; but it's also a sentiment I find myself thinking of my family every day.

We've just got back from our annual VW Big Bang festival camping trip and Mr Hippy proved he is pretty amazing - he built the most amazing fold-out bed for our van and upholstered the cushions that served as our mattress, never having done any sewing in his life before. He put our new awning up without having to look at the instructions ~ and trust me; this thing is like a small village.

Little Hippy had only ever had one night in our van before, but she adapted well to camping over a few days and didn't complain once about the cold (though we did have a few tantrums over what she wanted to wear!). She slept through every night despite us being situated next to the event tent and despite the fact that it was minus two degrees at night.
She loved the racing and though she wasn't sure of the event tent at first with the noise and the crowds and the lights she soon got used to it and had a great time.. Children are so adaptable!

Little Hippy spent every day in the Circus Whiz workshop - a free workshop offering circus skills lessons, which fits the theme of this card:

You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

I used Baja Breeze and Chocolate Chip coloured inks with a splash of Crumb Cake. I used two Stampin'Around Wheels - Take a Ticket and So Many Stars. I've just got into using the wheels recently; they are so much fun and are practical as they can be used on larger projects (such as scrapbook pages), you just simply roll them along your page.

The "You're Amazing" stamp set has to be showcased as it is so beautiful. Costing £27.95 for wood-mount and £21.95 for clear-mount, the stamp set contains 6 stamps, the namesake "You're Amaing" stamp being really quite large:

Whale you be mine....? the question I asked Mr Hippy with this card......

Oh, Whale! Twitterpated, Stampin' Up!

Of course he said "yes!".... and who could refuse me when I make cards like this? Ha!

At my Creative Card Making Class on Monday I had 4 card designs ready for the ladies to make, and then we had a challenge session where they were given some paper and card, and a selection of stamps; and I asked them to make something from what was laid on the table.. This was my card!

This monochrome card is really basic and was so easy to make, yet I think you'll agree it's really effective!

To make this card you'll need:

Stamp set: Oh, Whale!
Ink pad: Island Indigo
Designer Paper: Twitterpated
Card-stock: Whisper White, Island Indigo
Other: SNAIL adhesive, foam dimensionals (sticky pads)

Pimp Your Card! ~ Part 2

Good morning!

Well Spring is most definitely here!! My favourite thing about the warmer weather is being able to hang the washing outside; not having it cluttering up the house and the lovely fresh feel it has to it. Makes me sooo happy!

Today we conclude Pimp Your Card (!) ...  if you compare today's card to yesterday's post you'll see that it is the very same card but with the addition of some extra card-stock, colour and some extra stamping:

Postage stamp punch, Postage Due, Stampin' Up!

The DSP I used was Fan Fair; and this paper goes so well with this travel-themed card. I used the round "Paris" stamp, and the ink blot image from the French Foliage set.. I really think it set the card off perfectly.

Ok, so here's a list of supplies for this card:

Stamp sets: French Foliage, Postage Due, Itty Bitty Banners (for the sentiment)
Inks: Classic Stampin' Pads; Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Pool Party
Card Stock: Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake
Designer Series Paper: Fan Fair
Punches: Postage Stamp,  1 1/4 Square Punch
Other: Linen Thread, SNAIL adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals (sticky foam pads)

Please contact me at if you'd like to order Stampin' Up! supplies; I'd be happy to help!

Pimp Your Card! ~ Part 1

Good morning everyone!

Well what a beautiful weekend that was! Lots of warm weather and sunshine; the snow already long forgotten! Perfect weather to get things done.

We had a super busy weekend. We've been working on our van getting it all ready for the first camping trip of the year - not long to go now. We've got one last cushion to upholster ~ I say "we" - Mr Hippy has been doing the majority of it (sweet pics of him on his sewing machine to follow!), I've still got curtains to make, but the carpeting throughout has been done and our cabin seats/bed is finished (apart from that one cushion cover). We're pretty much ready to roll. We've sorted our camping gear and packed it all up. We're just waiting for that perfect sunny weekend now!

So, in the style of Pimp Your Ride (or Pimp Your Van, as it is here) we're going to have Pimp Your Card today and tomorrow. Basically, today's card is a sweet, lovely card in its own right ~ but tomorrow we're going to pimp it up by adding some extra stamping and accessories.

Here it is:

Postage Due, Postage Stamp punch, Stampin' Up!

I used the beautiful Postage Due set by Stampin' Up! - perfect for travel-related cards or scrapbook projects. I also used the Postage Stamp punch which I love. A little bit of Linen Thread just finished the card off.

Don't forget Stampin' Up! have got some great deals on at the moment (ask me about them!) and you can order any of the products you see on my blog - I am a registered Stampin' Up! demonstrator

For the Mr Hippy fans here he is on his vintage sewing machine!

Awwwww! I love him!!

Check back tomorrow for the second part of Pimp Your Card

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 10

Just Believe, Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
Today sees the last day of my Inspired by Nature series. The inspiration for this card comes from Fiona Whitten of Oakfield Crafts, who made a similar card last week (thanks Fiona!).

The set I've used is Just Believe which is just brilliant for layering and creating a summer meadow effect. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to shade in some First Edition DSP - and then I punched out the butterflies from this shaded paper using the Bitty Butterfly Punch. This means the butterflies co-ordinated with the DSP border, but were coloured, too.

All the products used here are Stampin' Up! - don't forget they have some brilliant Hostess Deals on at the minute - get in touch with me (or have a nose 'round the blog) for more details!

Here's a brief run down of what you need to make this card - all items are Stampin' Up! and are available through me:

Stamps: Quint-Essential Flower Stamp

Designer Series Paper: Tea for Two, First Edition
Other: Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 8

Quint-Essential Flower stamp, Stampin' Up!

Good morning!
Today's card is inspired by "Stamp with Amy K".

Amy did her card in shades of blue and it had a different layout to mine, but the credit for inspiration for this card definitely goes to her.

Quint-Essential Flower stamp, Stampin' Up!

Using green and yellow has given a summery feel.

This card features the Quint-essential Flower Stamp, which I adore. It fits several of Stampin' Up!'s punches so that you can create a layered effect, like I have done here.

I've layered strips of green designer paper - perfect for using up scraps - and a bit of ribbon and a button and pearl for embellishment and there it is. Quick, simple and really effective.

If you would like to order Stampin' Up! products then please get in touch. There is a Buy It Now button on the order screen if you'd like to purchase a catalogue; however you can also view it online on the Stampin' Up! website, or from the link on this blog.

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 7

Good morning everyone!

Swallowtail Stamp, Stampin' Up!

Today's card is completely different to the card on Day 1 - but is made using the same Swallowtail Stamp from Stampin' Up!

This time I have stamped it in black StazOn ink (to prevent the colour running) and coloured with Stampin' Write markers and a blender pen  I then used a Versamark pen and some Silver Emboss Powder to emboss some silver lines on the butterfly, which were set using the Stampin' Up! heat-gun.

Swallowtail Stamp, Stampin' Up!

I mounted it on some Silver Glimmer paper and some Wisteria Wonder card-stock (one of my fave Stampin' Up! colours).

If you'd like to order Stampin' Up! products or know a little more about them, then don't hesitate to get in touch; I'd be happy to help.

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 6 (Get Well Soon Lynne!)

Afternoon everyone,

After a busy morning I'm back ready to post today's blog-note. Today's card is one I made to give to a lovely friend who has recently had an op, and has been a bit poorly.

Stampin' Up! babywipe, French Foliage, Perfectly Penned

Stampin' Up! babywipe, French Foliage, Perfectly Penned

Stampin' Up! babywipe, French Foliage, Perfectly Penned

I used babywipes and ink refills to create this gorgeous effect. I guess it's kinda tie-dye! The colours I used were Pumpkin Pie, Crumb Cake, Pool Party and Old Olive and I think they go really well together.

The stamp set is French Foliage which is a must-have! The sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned set; I love the font on this one.

Get well soon Lynnie!

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 5

Take Care, Stampin' Up!

Good morning,
Have you seen the special offer for Crafty Hippy customers this week? Scroll down to yesterday's blog post for the details.

Today's nature card is another birdy card. This beautiful branch, nest and eggs comes from the lovely "Take Care" stamp set, which also features the sentiments "Blessings" and "Take care".

It can be found on page 91 of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and costs £15.95 for a wood-mount set (or £12.95 for clear). I've elevated the eggs by mounting them on some Stampin' Dimensionals - sticky foam pads that give your projects depth (£3.25 for 300).

Take Care, Stampin' Up!

I used paper from the Neutrals Designer Paper Stack which costs £19.50 for 40 double-sided sheets of 12x12" papery yumminess.
The "Happy Birthday" sentiment is from the "Perfectly Penned" stamp set which features "Thank You", "Celebrate Today" and "Get Well" alongside (£14.95/£11.95).

The Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon is £8.95 and gives your projects feminine flair. This is a much-loved product by my customers. Ink pads used: Early Espresso, Pool Party, Wisteria Wonder, Calypso Coral ((£4.95 each).

Being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator means I can order any (or all!) of these products for you - drop me a line at or call on 07896 314573

I'll be back tomorrow with another nature-inspired card.

Inspired by Nature - Day 3

Good morning everyone.

Today's nature-inspired card celebrates RAIN ! - something us Brits are well acquainted with.

We've been spending a lot of time indoors due to the cold, rainy weather recently ~ but thankfully it means that we've nearly finished re-upholstering cushions for the bed in our camper van. Let's hope the rain stops soon as we're off on our first camping trip in a few weeks!

Million-Dollar Moments, Stampin' Up!

This beautiful stamp set called "Million-Dollar Moments" (a Hostess set) also features flowers and hearts that can fall from your card-sky instead. There is also a gorgeous duck and the following sentiments: "I'm here for you", "thanks a million", "falling for you" and "hello"; which I've used here.

I've used the colour Pool Party for the rain and the card stock. You'll be pleased to know that this retiring In Colour will now be staying as a result of the recent Colour Refresh.

Why not host a Stampin' Up! party with me (real or "virtual") and get this gorgeous stamp set for free? Please drop me a line if you would like to order or know more -

Stay warm and dry everyone!

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 2

Honeycomb embossing folder, Stampin' Up!

Good morning stampers!

Bee happy!

This beautiful card was one I CASEd from American demo LeAnne Pugliese. That said, I have changed the shade of yellow, the ribbon and the sentiment stamp used; so I guess it is more "inspired by" than completely copied.

This was such an easy card to make. I've daubed along the ridges of the Honeycomb with our Sponge Daubers, the honeycomb effect was achieved by using Stampin' Up!'s wonderful Honeycomb Emboss Folder. I used some Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon and used some StazOn ink to stamp the bees so that I could colour them in using my Stampin' Write Markers.

Honeycomb emboss folder, Stampin' Up!

The bee stamp is from the set "Nature Walk" - I have used this set so many times, it's wonderful, I love it.

As a demonstrator all Stampin' Up! products can be purchased through me. If you'd like to know more or order contact me at:

Inspired by Nature ~ Day 1

Stampin' Up! Swallowtail

Good morning everyone.

Today sees the start of my ten-part series "Inspired by Nature" - a selection of cards featuring animals, plants and flowers.

This idea came to me as we experienced some of the better weather last week, I wanted to celebrate the arrival of Spring and the journey towards Summer; shame today is so wet and grey!

First up is a card I made using Stampin' Up!'s Swallowtail stamp - which is HUGE - and absolutely gorgeous. I've managed to get a faded, washed-out look, but please be assured that this stamp prints a full image. More from this stamp later.

I used Whisper White and Crumb Cake card-stock; and four bottles of ink - Crumb Cake, Pool Party, Pumpkin Pie and Old Olive - being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator all these items are all available to purchase through me.

If you would like to learn more about Stampin' Up! and what I do then please get in touch-

Making your own personalised stationery

Good morning everyone,

Yesterday I decided to make some personalised stationery using the English Ivy Simple Sentiments pack. You get 20 lightweight sheets and 10 envelopes. I've basically added my initial using the Lovely Letters Alphabet set and some Crumb Cake ink.

English Ivy Simple Sentiments, Stampin' Up!

I also used the script and post-mark stamp from the French Foliage set - these are two really useful stamps that I use all the time:

English Ivy Simple Sentiments, Stampin' Up!

English Ivy Simple Sentiments, Stampin' Up!

I decorated both the envelope as well as the writing paper. You could just choose to do one or the other if you didn't want to go too overboard.

English Ivy Simple Sentiments, Stampin' Up!

And there you have it - personalised stationery!

STOP PRESS! Have you heard the news?

Yup, Stampin' Up! are changing their colours. They decided to overhaul all the colours in 2010 and said they would do a smaller colour refresh every 3-5 years to keep things fresh. The three years are up; and so it's time for a much needed change.

There are ten colours that are retiring. They are keeping 4 of the about-to-retire In-Colour shades you'll be pleased to hear (Calypso Coral, Pool Party, Island Indigo and Wisteria Wonder) and are bringing back a couple of colours from last year (Blushing Bride, Pear Pizzaz). There are also some new colours from even further back ~ and a completely new colour (the only one) which is called Smoky Slate - which was a gap in the colour scheme, and is bang on trend.

Here's how the new colour families are going to look:

You will be able to purchase the new colours (if you don't already have them from previous Colour Collections) when the new Annual Catalogue comes out on 1st July 2013 (exciting!)... In the meantime Stampin' Up! have advised that you stock up on retiring colour items now (if you would like them) as they are only available for as long as stocks last. This is all inks, card stock, refills and ribbon - anything with these discontinuing colours in.

There is another announcement to make (it's all happening this week) - the Watercolour Pencils and Crayons are going to be discontinued due to supplier issues. If you have these on your wishlist then you should also think about ordering these sooner rather than later as they will also be only available whilst stocks last.

Please contact me by email ( or by telephone if you have any questions or would like to place an order (07896 314573).

Spring has Sprung. Thank you so, so much.....

Spring Sampler, Stampin' Up!

Good morning Crafty Hippies!

I'm still using this stamp set "Spring Sampler" so much - it is just perfect for this time of year. There are 24 gorgeous stamps featuring a frog, wellies, jelly beans, sheep and many more. Changing the colours and the way you use the stamps means the possibilities are endless!

I have teamed it with a sentiment from the "Delightful Dozen" stamp set which has sentiments for every occasion.

I think the Summer Starfruit, Pacific Point and Gumball Green combo works so well, a bright, cheery card if ever there was one!

If you'd like to know more about Stampin' Up! products, or to order, just drop me a line

Fabric Flower

More Amore, Stampin' Up! fabric

Good morning!

Today I thought we'd have a fabric project rather than a paper-craft post. Here is a Kanzashi flower brooch I made using Stampin' Up! fabric and one of their Antique Brads - isn't it charming??

More Amore, Stampin' Up! fabric

This is the More Amore fabric - it costs £8.95 for three co-ordinating pieces measuring 45.7 x 68.6 cm - slightly bigger (overall) than a fat quarter. If you're in the habit of buying fabric you'll know that this is great value; especially for designer material.

After making the flower I used my glue gun to fix the Antique Brad (£5.50 for 20) in the middle and to secure a brooch back on the rear. You could also make this into a hair slide with the appropriate finding.

If you'd like to order any of the Stampin' Up! supplies you see on my website then don't hesitate to get in touch; as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I'd be happy to help!

Easter Toadstools

Everybunny, Stampin' Up!

Happy Friday everyone!
Well, I'm still showing off the "Everybunny" stamp set Easter cards I made - I couldn't miss showing you this one - it features two stamps; the toadstool stamp and the Easter sentiment.

This toadstool stamp could of course be used for any occasion, and it could be coloured brighter than this; for a summer birthday card (for example). I've used black StazOn ink to make sure I could colour the image without smudging.

I love the colour combo here - Soft Suede, Summer Starfruit and Marina Mist. Card stock and ink in these colours are available through me, a registered Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Don't forget to check out my Classes page, too, if you're local (GU12).

Soda Pop Top celebrations

Soda Pop Tops, Stampin' Up!

Morning crafters!

Here is a gorgeous card that I made using a Soda Pop Top (from Stampin' Up!) This was one of the Stampin' Up! supplies that I just couldn't wait to get my hands on. They are found in the Spring/Summer catalogue:

Soda Pop Tops, Stampin' Up!

They are brilliant and bring extra dimension to your projects, and are easily flattened with the Big Shot if you want to get the effect I have used. You can fill the centre with whatever you like and then fill with Crystal Effects. I have seen lots of necklaces and key fobs made this way, another great way to use these.

Sticky Strip, Soda Pop Tops, Stampin' Up!

I fixed the soda top to my card using the Sticky Strip tape, which is perfect for holding 3D projects together. It is extra sticky and double sided and you cut it to the length needed.

Petite Curly Label Punch, Stampin' Up!

Exmouth 2010

All this warm(ish!), sunny weather is making me think about the beach and summertime. We actually took a trip to Hayling Island on Easter Monday that was lovely, though really quite chilly and not as nice as the weather yesterday.

One of my resolutions this year was to get scrapbooking and so here is a page from 2010 when we went to Exmouth with my parents. Here on the beach, Little Hippy is really happy - and considerably smaller than she is now!!

I used Stampin' Up! products to create this page, as I do all my papercraft projects. Please let me know if you would like to order (or know a bit more) as I am a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.

Folding card

Good morning everyone!!

I hope you've all had a fantastic Easter weekend - it's absolutely glorious here today.

We started the holidays off with Good Friday at Wheel's Day - which is an annual car show held near Crafty Cottage. It was very cold and blustery - but it didn't rain like it has for many Wheel's Days - hooray!

I let Little Hippy have the camera to take photographs of the cars she liked - they all came out beautifully - I think this was down to her being just the right height!

Here is one of her shots:

She also chose the colours and components for today's card! She loves the moustache (as do I) and piggy stamps from the set A Fitting Occasion:

I used the First Edition paper (also a fave) with Soft Suede card-stock, which I think worked really well.

I also used my Simply Scored to create a folding centre for the card to make an interesting change to the usual card formula.

All the cards and projects on my blog are made using Stampin' Up! products. Please contact me if you'd like to order or know more.
