A Papillon Pot-pourri Day

Good morning Hippies, Happy Friday!

I for one am so pleased it's Friday. It's been an insanely busy week in an unusually busy month. I've woken up so tired this morning ~ I usually wake before the alarm but I was fast asleep in snooze-land when it went off today ~ and it's a little dreary outside; so I thought we'd have a cheery post.

Cheery of course means yellow, polka-dots and butterflies! Butterflies have been a constantly popular trend for us at Stampin' Up! and the "Papillon Pot-pourri" stamp set and matching punch has been a favourite with customers.

I've teamed it with the "Itty Bitty Banners" stamp set which has wonderful sentiments in such as this Happy Birthday; and I've used the "Dictionary" background stamp in Crumb Cake ink to add interest. I finished it all off with the Daffodil Delight "Polka Dot Parade" designer series paper (punched with the Decorative Lavel Punch), an adhesive pearl, and a bit of Linen Thread - voila!

All these items can be ordered through me, or in the Stampin' Up! ON-LINE STORE

Have a happy day!

Please contact me today to make your booking!

Super Simple Tuesday

So, as the heading suggests today is Super Simple Tuesday (maybe I should make this a regular feature?!). This means today's beautiful but simple card requires very little work:

Morning Meadow, Banner Greetings, Stampin' Up! Stampin Up

I've used the "Stripes" embossing folder on some Whisper White card stock (which I have run through the Big Shot), mounted that on a Whisper White card, then added some flowers from the "Morning Meadow" Hostess set - which I cut out with some scissors -  and the sentiment from the "Banner Greetings" Hostess set (I seem to be using Hostess sets a lot this week).

A few little pearls and your card is ready for someone special.

I've used Pool Party, Strawberry Slush and Baked Brown Sugar Classic Stampin' Pads - they co-ordinate beautifully. You could add more or less flowers, plus some leaves if you wanted to make more of an impact. I tried to keep it as simple (and quick) as possible.

Celebrate! I'm "Truly Grateful" for friends

Truly Grateful, Stampin' Up!

This is a mini card which ended up being a bit of a collaboration with my friend Lynne - she started a card (but didn't like it) so (being the lovely friend I am) I promptly chopped it up and added bits to it and turned it into something new!

I love this time of the year - the colours on the trees, the slightly colder weather and that feeling of anticipation - and the fact you spend more time with your besties inside (often with chocolate and a nice bottle of wine!) doing things that you love - which in our case is stamping.

We've used the "Truly Grateful" stamp set with a sentiment from the "Fabulous Phrases" stamp set - which comprises of thirty wonderful words to add to your card making and scrap-booking projects. The dotty paper is from the gorgeous "Polkadot Parade" designer series paper pack which I find I use so often. It is very versatile and in the right way can add a really vintage feel to some projects.

Don't forget if you'd like to buy Stampin' Up! products on-line (saving you time) you can order 24 hours a day at the Official Stampin' Up! On-line Store
There are so many gorgeous products to choose from and everything is categorised so it is super easy. Once you get to a spend of £150 (or more) you are entitled to £25 Stampin' Rewards to spend.

I'm truly grateful for the lovely friends (such as Lynne) that I've met during my time with the Stampin' Up! family. Why not ask me about becoming a demonstrator today.

Back tomorrow,

Hello, you

Good morning!
I thought it was about time I used the Regarding Dahlias stamp set again (I love it). I've used the Woodgrain stamp in the background, which I stamped over the dahlia (which was already stamped - I shielded it with a piece of paper). I then coloured the dahlia with a Stampin' Write Marker pen. An embossed "hello you" and a bit of Early Espresso Baker's Twine finished off the look!

A super quick (but effective) card - you can find all the products in this project in the Official Stampin' Up! on-line shop - you can browse or shop HERE  !!

You can still order the traditional way - drop me an email with the details of what you'd like to order - and I'm on hand to answer any technique, product or promotions questions you may have.

Simply Sketched - With Heartfelt Sympathy

Morning everyone,
I don't think I have covered Sympathy cards on this blog yet, so I thought it was about time.

Handmade sympathy cards are a lovely gesture at a time of great sadness. They show the recipient that you care about how they feel and how they are managing at this difficult period in their life.

For even the most seasoned of Crafters making sympathy cards is often difficult. Their design must be considered carefully. The most important thing about the sympathy card is the message it is carrying - therefore too many embellishments, a fussy design, or too much colour can be seen as inappropriate or unnecessary; and only gets in the way of what you are trying to say.

I actually like a little bit of colour on my sympathy cards, after all we not only mourn the passing of loved ones, but celebrate those lives, too.

The three main points to consider when making sympathy cards are:

Design: simple and elegant is best. You can personalise cards further by having a theme - something that is special to the recipient or carries special memories.

Colour: Not too bright, dark colours and tones such as purple and black are traditional - however if the colours used bear significance then I really don't see a problem with it. However, just a jot of gentle colour is probably best.

Wording: Again, simple sentiments and wording is often best but (again) it does depend on the recipient receiving the card. In many ways I think sympathy cards are the cards people pay most attention to.

Simply Sketched, Stampin' Up! With heartfelt sympathy

My sympathy card was made using the Simply Sketched stamp set from Stampin' Up! - this is one of their beautiful hostess sets.

I have probably used a little more colour than what is seen on a lot of sympathy cards; but I tried to avoid block colour so that it would still have that delicate feel to it; which helps convey the message of the card.

Don't forget you can choose me as your Stampin' Up! demonstrator and as your Creative Coach I can advise you on techniques, products, promotions, orders, and all things Stampin' Up!

Merry Little Christmas....

Good morning,
A big "thank you" this morning to the lovely ladies that came to class last night. We had a lovely evening cutting and sticking, and as the season moves forward into winter we shall start to look at making some Christmas/Yule cards and gifts.

Today's card has been created using the "Merry Little Christmas" stamp set (£12.95 wood/£9.95 clear mount) and some patterned paper from the Season of Style Designer Series paper stack (£6.25).

The Christmas tree was made using the Pennant Parade stamp set from our Annual Catalogue (£19.95/£15.95). A few rhinestones set the card off perfectly!

All these products can be found in the Official Stampin' Up! On-line Store Here - along with all the other great products Stampin' Up! sell. Make sure you have a look in the Clearance Rack, too.

Enjoy your day!

Christmas is coming!

....and whilst I don't celebrate it I am busy preparing for the Christmas Shopping Night at my daughter's school.

I have been making cards using a mixture of old and new Stampin' Up! supplies. I have also been trying some different techniques and making use of all the ribbon and accessories I have here in my studio.

Today's card was made using the masking technique - using one of the Oval Framelits Dies I have masked off an area and sponged ink to create a night sky - adding Trees (using the Lovely as a Tree stamp set):

Lovely as a Tree, Stampin' Up!

I have used only current products for this card but will be showcasing some later in the week that have been made using old Stampin' Up! supplies, but they are adaptable to whatever stamps you have.

Lovely as a Tree, Stampin' Up!

If you'd like to buy the products needed (listed below) for this card the link to shop is HERE

To make it you will need the following Stampin' Supplies:

Cardstock: Island Indigo, Whisper White
Classic Stampin' Pads: Island Indigo, Pool Party, Basic Black
Stamp sets: Lovely as a Tree, Take Care (for the 'Blessings' sentiment)
Dies: Framelits Oval Dies (plus a Big Shot to run them through)
Adhesive: SNAIL adhesive
Other: Trimmer (to cut the card), Stamping Sponges

Truly Grateful

Truly Grateful, Stampin' Up!

This card was made using the Truly Grateful stamp set from Stampin' Up! - I love this set! It features 6 gorgeous stamps on an Autumnal/Thanksgiving theme which are so useful:

Truly Grateful, Stampin' Up!

This set is £24.95 for wood or £19.95 for clear-mount. You can order this product in the Official Stampin' Up! Online Shop here: - click the SHOP button (top rhs of page) and search "Truly Grateful" in the search bar. You'll find both sets of this stamp set on the second page of results.

Jewellery Up-cycle

Good morning everyone,
As readers of this blog know I love making jewellery and bags and up-cycling things; so today we're going to have a non-Stampin' Up! post.

I recently visited Glastonbury and one of the first port-of-calls for me is the charity shops. I found this glass bead necklace in one:

The pom-poms on it were faded and a bit musty smelling, and frankly I didn't like them. So I decided I would re-purpose the beads into something new:

I strung them with some dark brown hemp. I love using hemp; it has a good tensile strength.

And I added some beautiful spirals:

Regarding Dahlias

Regarding Dahlias, Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
Today's card features the stamp set Regarding Dahlias, which was one of the first sets I got from the new Annual Catalogue - I love it! The dahlia is a large stamp and the "Hello, You" is super, super cute.

Regarding Dahlias set:

Regarding Dahlias, Stampin' Up!

As you can see the sentiments that come with this stamp set are so useful and are so current. The "You're Invited" is particularly handy.

Regarding Dahlias, Stampin' Up!

The designer series paper used is Etcetera, which I've used a few times this week; and the sentiment has been embossed in white for extra dimension. Quick, easy and bold.

The delicate cherry-blossom stamping (made in Crumb Cake) was made using the Morning Meadow stamp set which is one of the Hostess Sets (available for free if you spend £150 or more).

Morning Meadow:

Morning Meadow, Stampin' Up! Hostess

Such a versatile set, I can see I'll be using these a lot.

You get £25 bonus pounds for spending £150+ and this goes up in increments - and you don't have to purchase this set - in fact you can spend your free hostess pounds on anything in the catalogue - the choice is yours!

And don't forget you can order Stampin' Up! products on-line from the Official Store - that means with a couple of clicks Regarding Dahlias (and Morning Meadow) can be all yours.

Isn't is beautiful? I love the colours and the feeling of peace.

Back tomorrow with the day's inspirational card post.

Masking technique

Good morning!
Today's card was actually made a few weeks ago when crafting with my friends and down-lines Jane and Lynne. It was the first time in ages that we'd had a chance to get together and the first time in even longer that we'd had to create something - there was also dinner, much wine, much chocolate and loads of giggling - so a perfect evening.

The best thing about being a Stampin' Up! demonstrator is definitely the friends you make along the way. If it wasn't for Stampin' Up! I wouldn't know Lynne at all - it was our shared passion that has brought us all together.

This card was actually a design inspired by Jane - you can look at what she does here - she has such a beautiful style! The main area and also the sun were achieved by masking - a really easy technique where you use card shapes and cut-outs (created by dies and punches) to create frames for stamping.

Don't forget that this blog (and Jane's) features Stampin' Up! products available to order through us Demonstrators. You can now also order online with me using the link here. Select the SHOP button at the top of the page.

Magnetic Shopping Lists

Good morning everyone!

The sun's shining today here in Surrey, I really love this time of year. Although we're winding down towards the end of the year (and there's a certain laziness about that) it's a time for new beginnings - the children are about to start school, and traditionally it's a time for preparation into winter - although any preparations we make these days are for the main celebration at the end of the year - Yule (Christmas).

With this in mind I thought I'd show you these lovely gifts. They are covered in Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper - the monotone black and white papers are from the Modern Medley set and the others are Polkadot Parade (as seen yesterday). Both paper sets available through me.

They take no time at all for producing a small, personal gift. Why not get some ready as stocking fillers? Or they would make perfect wedding favours tied with a bit of raffia and a label, or indeed for small birthday presents.

I bought the magnetic shopping lists already made with the magnet on the back but you could purchase some magnets (give eBay a try) and glue them on with a glue gun.

Papillon Pot-pourri

Good morning everyone!

After a couple of months' break I am back. I haven't completely got my mojo back but I've had a few enquiries this week and I am glad to see that my blog is still getting quite a few hits every day ~ plus the sun is shining! ~ so what better way to get started again.

I'd like to offer heartfelt thanks to my family, friends, customers and especially my lovely bunch of Stampin' Up! demonstrators who've helped me through this tough time. I couldn't have done it without you and without you I probably wouldn't be sitting here ~ typing on this blog ~ right now!

So here's the first card of my comeback. I've used the wonderful Papillon Pot-pourri plus the Polkadot Parade paper (and a tiny rhinestone) for this vintage-inspired card which I just adore:

Papillon Pot-pourri, Stampin' Up! Butterflies

This card is perfect for retro lovers - it was so quick and simple, too.

There will be a lot of news over the next few days where I fill in the gaps for both customers and myself - please bear with me!

I will also be posting up news of forthcoming community classes. So stay tuned.

Reasons to smile

Happy Day, Stampin' Up!

Afternoon everyone!
I've been so busy this week what with the new catalogue change-over; doing my friends' wedding stationery and searching for a new ("proper"!) job. I've secured myself an interview for a really good company this morning so I have been smiling a lot today!

In case you hadn't guessed already I love the "smile" sentiment from the Happy Day set - this is one of the new stamp sets for this year's catalogue. Here's an image view of the set:

Happy Day, Stampin' Up!

I've also used the French background script stamp "En Francais" and the Modern Mosaic set (and matching punch!), along with the new In-Colors.

As a demonstrator, these sets and all current Stampin' Up! products are available through me - just drop me a line if you'd like to order.

Back tomorrow with more reasons to smile, hopefully!

NEW Stampin' Up! Catalogue 2013-2014 ***released today!***

It's here! Today the new Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue is here, I am SO excited!!

To celebrate our new publication a few of us Stampin' Up! demonstrators have taken part in the Stampin' Stars blog hop. You have landed here by way of Julie, I hope that you loved what she had to share! Next stop is Nicky

The project I am showing today is a cute trio of notebooks made with some gorgeous new DSP ~ both musical notes and birds designs from Modern Medley ~ and some Silver Glimmer Paper (which has carried over from last year):

The best thing about Stampin' Up! is it's not all about cards and scrap books! There are so many wonderful projects you can create using Stampin' Up! goodies.

If you have any questions or would like to order just get in touch - I'd be so happy to help:   07896 314573

Best of.... Butterflies!

Good morning everyone!
This week is proving to be very exciting indeed! Tomorrow we see the launch of the new Annual Catalogue; and as it's the 1st July today we get to see this month's "Best of" stamp set. Which features butterflies!

Each "Best of" stamp set features one new stamp (in this case the butterfly that fits the Elegant Butterfly Punch) and the others stamps in the set are favourites featured from the last 25 years.

As Stampin' Up! have only been in Europe for 5 years this means that many of the images in these sets have not been seen by us in the UK, making these sets extra special for us.

"Best of Butterflies" is available from today all the way through until 31st March 2014. Just get in touch with me if you'd like to order this set.

There will be a new celebratory 25 Year stamp set every month until October and they are all priced at £13.95

Back tomorrow with an on-line copy of the new catalogue - I shall be placing the first orders tomorrow so just get in touch if you'd like anything.

Craft fair fun!

We had so much fun yesterday! We got up super early and joined the car-booters for a table-top sale at Mytchett Community Centre:

Business was quite slow as it was so gorgeous and sunny outside, and a lot of people didn't realise we were inside the hall (the car-boot was outside) but we had a great time anyway and met lots of other traders. We are all ready for our fair at the end of the month, now.

Here are some of the candles I took with me - not hugely popular but I think it was the wrong time to sell these; I have no doubt they will go down well at Christmas:

I have so much exciting news in the next couple of days - our next "Best Of" set and of course the release of the new Annual Catalogue on Tuesday. So stay posted!
