Good morning all.
Here's the card I made this morning; it's my favourite theme - trees!
I used a few different techniques in this card, you can't really see from this photo (but you can the one further down the page) that the background is actually stamped with the Woodgrain stamp available from Stampin' Up! to give it a lovely wood-grained background.

I stamped the pine tree from the Lovely as a Tree set. I did this first in Garden Green; I then used the Stamp-a-majig tool to (carefully) re-stamp over the top ~ but a little to the side ~ in Basic Black. I then used some Sahara Sand to stamp with the Woodgrain over the top. Next, I used the Woodgrain stamp to pattern the other bit of Whisper White cardstock and the card blank.
I cut the box quite small and ran the edges of the cardstock through my ink pad to give it a blackened edge. I added a silver brad. It was then mounted on the larger bit of card which had also been blackened and had been mounted (very thinly) on some Garden Green cardstock. I then mounted it (again) onto the card base.

I decided against adding a sentiment, feeling that the tree spoke for itself!! But there is plenty of room of the card if you wanted to do so. A perfect card for a man, or for any nature lover.

  1. Thanks so much, I was really pleased with this card, although the picture doesn't really do it justice! xx
