Happy Handfasting

Hi there everyone!

So this Bank Holiday weekend gave me the chance to escape a bit for a few days which is lovely.

First stop we had the pleasure of going to a pirate-themed handfasting on Sunday which was brilliant! This was down in Avebury, Wiltshire where we joined close friends and the lovely couple. Here is a photo of me with good friend Noelle (I'm on the right):

This was the card I made based on thank you notes made by the lovely Cate Terry of Blue Angel Crafts :

Not the best picture in the world (I'm still half asleep I think!) but you can probably see that I stupidly managed to smudge the black ink, then promptly forgot to take a picture of the second (non-smudged) card I made. But you get the idea! C*O*N*G*R*A*T*U*L*A*T*I*O*N*S Jax and Mark! xxxx
I used Marina Mist and Pear Pizzaz colours which I think complemented each other perfectly, set off with some Crumbcake (one of my faves). I used the "Just Believe" stamp set to stamp the leaves.
Next stop on the road trip was a visit to Bridgwater to visit Mr Crafty Hippy's family. We were spoilt rotten and soon it was time to move on to Glastonbury to visit some friends who were also camping in the area. It was so lovely to catch up with them, I hadn't seen them in years yet it felt like only yesterday.
I think next year is going to spent mainly camping, based on the wonderful trips we've had this year. Let's hope the weather is better next year!!

Creative Classes

Last night saw the latest of one of my Creative Card Making classes, where I was joined by the lovely Jane and Wendy - thanks for coming girls!!

I think these classes are going to be a real boon for a lot of people (including me) over the Autumn and Winter; the dark nights are drawing in already, it's getting cold, and it will most definitely keep us all out of trouble over the  months to come!

We had a fantastic time as always, it was great to see the girls get into their creative flow and make some wonderful cards; tweaking the designs I presented them here and there a little bit to make them their own. Here is a card with a distinctly autumnal feel to it, although the colours are reasonably bright and summery still; just right to give to someone at this time of year:

I used the Woodgrain stamp from Stampin' Up! which is both huge and beautiful! - I can see myself using this a lot in the near future; alongside the stamp set which is actually called Autumn Splendor. I used Wild Wasabi cardstock and Beyond the Garden Designer Series Paper and finished it all off with a bit of grosgrain ribbon in Marina Mist.

My classes are booking up quickly now, to the point where I am holding 4 a month to accomodate everyone that would like to come! There are still spaces available and the class is only £10.00 so drop me a line if you are interested in coming along.

Owl Builder

I am absolutely in LOVE with the Owl Builder Punch from Stampin' Up! Everytime I use it I find myself asking "why didn't I get this before?" - at only £15.50 I can actually say it was worth every penny.

I have seen a whole array of different cards on the tinterweb showing wonderful creations made from this punch, and not limited to owls; you can make penguins and all sorts of other animals using this punch.

Here's my latest card using the Owl Builder Punch:

I've made several of these cards; they're going to an old peoples' centre to be sold with a percentage going to charity, along with several other designs.
The background stamp is called Fine Flourish (another stamp I LOVE) and the ribbon is gorgeous "Perfect Plum" taffeta.
Don't hesitate to email or call me if you would like to sample Stampin' Up! goodies or place an order from me; I'd be pleased to help!

RSVP Thank You

Love is in the air!!
After a busy weekend away at a Hen Party I made this card to say "yes please" to another wedding invitation, it seems 2012 is definitely the year for saying "I do":

It's a fairly basic card, and shows how less can be more by using some Twitterpated paper and a flower from the Creative Elements stamp set to produce this girly, summery look. I have also made a variation of this card with rounder corners, which also works really well!

Well tonight has been spent making the last of my preparations for tomorrow's Creative Card Making evening where 3 ladies will be joining me to make 4 lovely cards, come back tomorrow to hear all about it.

Good night all!

Creative Card Making evening

So the blog has been fairly slow this week due to my little girl being really poorly, which meant a lot of crafting was on hold. But I did manage to hold my Creative Card Making class on Thursday night which was lots of fun, as always.

I managed to get a sneaky shot of the girls crafting in action!!

We had a really good time, we had lots of cake and a bottle of wine and had a good catch up while we  made some beautiful cards. Louise was really good at it (better than me!) and Jane also found her flow and made some beautiful pieces.

Here are the cards we made:

Please get in touch if you would like to come along to a Creative Card Making night. They are only £10 a head and you take home 4/5 projects. Contact me on 07896 314573 or  for more details, or keep your eyes peeled on here!!

Cole's 2nd Birthday

This is a card I forgot to post up a couple of weeks ago, so here it is a little late!

As you can see I used the Fox and Friends stamp set from Stampin' Up! which is gorgeous. I used some dies to cut out Cole's name and the number 2.

Boho Blossoms

This is the lovely card I made today.

It is based on a card by Jenni Pauli (I love her work!), but I only used the Boho Blossoms punch to make the flowers. This is a simple yet very effective card - so very easy to make!!

All you need is cardstock in whatever colours you fancy, and the punch (plus a little sentiment in the corner if you so wish).

You could make this same card again using hearts or butterflies, or you could mix those in with the flowers - the possibilities are endless.

Pedal Presents

Here is a card using the Hostess set "Pedal Presents" from the Summer Mini Catalogue - I absolutely love this stamp set, it has given me a lot of pleasure!! It's a steal at only £9 Hostess Pounds and is available until the 31st August.

I teamed it with the sentiment "Treat yourself like your own best company" from the Creative Elements stamp set.

I used a trio of Real Red, Night of Navy and Soft Suede but using this stamp would look good in any colour combination. There are 6 gorgeous stamps that fill up the bike basket to choose from: balloons, presents, cake, love hearts, flowers and the cute little bird that is sat on the seat in the card I made (above).
