A closer look at the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin' Up! And a visit to some distant childhood memories...

Create this mystical Dragon Card using the Magical Day stamp set from Stampin' Up! plus some Embossing Paste
What do you think about dragons?!

One of my favourite dragons of all time has to be Smaug, who is the primary antagonist in J.R.R. Tolkien's 1937 novel The Hobbit.

Despite being described as 'a most specially greedy, strong and wicked worm' I love Smaug!! The idea of him guarding a large pile of treasure inside a mountain for 150 years was so evocative to me as a child.

Dragons have been portrayed in popular culture in many different forms over the years - radio, film, television, art, comics, puppetry, games, songs, toys, theme parks, shows, the list goes on and on.

Another dear childhood memory of mine was singing Puff the Magic Dragon, oh how I loved this!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
in a land called Honnah Lee
Little Jackie Paper loved that rascal Puff
And brought him strings and sealing wax and other fancy stuff, oh!
Together they would travel on a boat with billowed sail
Jackie kept a lookout perched on Puff's gigantic tail
Noble kings and princes would bow whene'er they came
Pirate ships would lower their flags when Puff roared out his name, oh!
A dragon lives forever but not so little boys
Painted wings and giant rings make way for other toys
One grey night it happened, Jackie Paper came no more
And Puff that mighty dragon, he ceased his fearless roar
His head was bent in sorrow, green scales fell like rain
Puff no longer went to play along the cherry lane
Without his life-long friend, Puff could not be brave
So Puff that mighty dragon sadly slipped into his cave, oh!
Puff, the magic dragon lived by the sea
And frolicked in the autumn mist
in a land called Honnah Lee

Anyway, enough of my childhood day-dreaming... let's look at today's project and what you need to make it!

The gorgeous (and very friendly) dragon in today's project is from our new Magical Day stamp set. Demonstrators and customers alike are having so much fun with this set:
Here is the Magical Day Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!

You can create all sorts of magical fun with this.  I'm so glad Stampin' Up! came up with a fantasy stamp set as in the time I have been a Demonstrator (nearly 6 years) there has been one Fairy set and that's it.

I created the background using the Shaving Foam Technique. If you click on the link you'll find instructions, videos and more information on how to do this and create amazing backgrounds for your cards and scrapbooking projects.

You'll find all the products you need to make this card in the chart below. I'll be back soon with more ideas!
