Vintage Leaves

Good evening everyone!
How are you all doing? It's the last day of January, can you believe it? The month has flown by, as did last year. I'm still sharing posts from the Autumn!

Today's Stamps...
This post should really should have been called 'Autumn Leaves', because of the colours I used, but Vintage Leaves is the name of the stamp set. The sentiment is from another of our Photopolymer stamp sets, Blooms & Wishes

Vintage Leaves, stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Colour Combination
I used quite striking colours in this project - Always Artichoke, Crumb Cake, Delightful Dijon, and Basic Black. Of course you could use Classic Stampin' Pads in any colour.

I'll be back tomorrow with another great Stampin' Up! project,

Lift Me Up Embellishment Gift Box

Wooden Embellishment Gift Box, Stampin' Up!

Good afternoon!
Today's make is an embellishment gift box. This was so easy to make. I bought a wooden box and filled it with die-cut shapes, punched shapes, ribbon and buttons. There are so many things you could put in it - tags, ink refills, paperclips and more.

This would make the perfect gift for a fellow crafter.

How to make this box...
I started off lining the box with some Designer Series Paper - in this case the FREE 'Carried Away' paper you can get during Sale-a-bration when you spend £45 on products (scroll down to the bottom for more information). However, it just didn't look right and the sections in the box were SO deep.

Wooden Embellishment Gift Box, Stampin' Up!

So I decided to try something a bit different instead. So I made little boxes in Night of Navy Cardstock and inserted them, raising the bottom. The box now looked much smarter:

Wooden Embellishment Box, Stampin' Up!

I then stamped and die-cut some hot air balloons from the Lift Me Up Bundle (also available in Clear Mount), and added some ribbon and buttons...

Wooden Embellishment Box, Stampin' Up!

I have been working hard this week to produce projects other than greeting's cards and I have to say I really enjoyed this project so much.

Woodland Embossing Folder Picture

Woodland Embossing Folder, Textured Impressions, Stampin' Up!

Good morning crafters!
This week I have been so busy with my studies (I'm studying to be a Clinical Aromatherapist) and and holistic clients that I didn't think I'd find much time to craft. However, a few early mornings later and I've done quite a bit this week!

Today's project is a framed picture that is my own design. I am so pleased with it!

How to make this project
To make this you need to invest in the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, plus some Ink Refills and an Aqua Painter. I simply coloured the embossing folder before running it through the Big Shot and then mounting it in a frame. The frame cost less than £3, so this is a really cheap but beautiful project.

Succulent Trend - Live, Love, Grow - Miss You Card

Garden inspired...
One of the things I'd like to do this year is get out in the garden. Mr Hippy and I have a small yard and we didn't get much of a chance to enjoy it last year.

Live, Love, Grow, Stampin' Up!

Succulent Trend...
Succulents are a big trend for 2017 - and Stampin' Up! are always on cue with their stamp sets. The gorgeous succulent stamp set I've used for this project is Live, Love, Grow and I think it has to be one of my all-time favourites.

Co-ordinating colours
For this project I've used Classic Stampin' Pads in shades of green - from left to right Old Olive, Bermuda Bay and Emerald Envy. The woodgrain effect is the Hardwood stamp (also available in Clear Mount) and has been stamped in Soft Suede.

FREE gift when you spend £45 on Stampin' Up! products
It's currently Sale-a-bration and that means a free gift from the Sale-a-bration Brochure for every £45 spent on Stampin' Up! products between now and the 31st March. Now is the best time to shop!

I can't craft without...

Every now and then I do a post about my favourite craft supplies - today I list ten things that I could not be without. As a Stampin' Up! demonstrator I personally craft with all of these items.

To buy any (or all!) of these items click the Shop Now button at the top of the page. If you have any questions about these, or how they work, then please get in touch and I'll do my best to answer your questions.

1. SNAIL adhesive
Absolutely the best paper craft glue on the market and I've tried many glues. SNAIL applies a controlled amount of adhesive directly to your project, sticks fast and is of archive quality - your hands and work area never get sticky. Best for card making and scrapbooking. £6.25/£4.00 (refill)
Snail adhesive, Stampin' Up!
2. Sponge Daubers
Use these on the end of your fingertips to add a distressed look to any project. Use on stamps or directly onto projects. Also good for stamping circular areas of ink to create an unusual background, or for applying ink to stencils. £4.50 for 5
Sponge Daubers, Stampin' Up!

3. Adhesive Remover
No-one is perfect! Remove unsightly adhesive and save your project. Works like an eraser and removes sticky glue trails. £3.25 for one eraser.
Adhesive Remover, Stampin' Up!
4. Stamp-a-majig
I've talked about my love for this item before! A must-have for any stamper - this little beauty helps you position every stamp exactly where you want it. A simple bit of kit that is so easy to use. £11.00
Stamp-a-majig

5. Stampin' Scrub & Stampin' Mist
Ok, so I'm cheating here a bit as these are actually two items, but they work in perfect harmony! The Stampin' Mist smells gorgeous - you spray it on to the "wet" side of the Stampin' Scrub and you rub the stamp until it is clean, drying it on the "dry" side of the Stampin' Scrub pad. Voila! You have clean, dry stamps; even the most detailed ones. The plush, black washpads are removable so that you can clean them. Another absolute must. Stampin' Scrub is £15.50 and Stampin' Mist is £4.00 (60ml bottle, then £8.50 for a 237ml refill bottle)

Stampin' Scrub, Stampin' Mist, Stampin' Up!

6. Color Caddy
Ok, so this is a little more expensive than some of my other must-haves, however this is absolutely perfect for storing all your ink pads and for all your ink refils (they sit in the top). This ensures there is no leakage from your lovely juicy ink pads and a quick sweep of the hand spins it around ensuring you can reach all the colours you need. Color Caddy costs £54.00

Stampin' Up! Color Caddy UK

7. Stampin' Dimensionals
These double-sided adhesive foam squares add depth and dimension to your projects. Use them to raise up parts of your projects and add interest and style. Instant bond. 300 in a pack.
Stampin' Up! Stampin' Dimensionals

8. Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
No craft stash is complete without this black, acid-free ink pad. You'll love the coverage it gives. Refills are available. Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad £5.50
Stampin' Up! Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad

9. Fine Tip Glue Pen
No more sticky messes! Reach for this when you need whisper-thin strands of glue. The slender precision tip lays down a fine line of glue - great for adhering delicately detailed paper die cuts, teeny embellishments, sequins and bits of glitter. £6.25 for 30ml/1oz.

Stampin' Up! Fine Tip Glue Pen

10. Washi Tape
This can be used in so many ways. As well as being bright and colourful and used on your projects to decorate them, you can also use it for other things. For example to mark out areas for sponging, or to attach your project to your grid paper while you work on it. It comes in lots of colours and patterns. Various colours and prices

Stampin' Up! Gorgeous Grunge & Dragonfly Dreams - the perfect pair

Gorgeous Grunge & Dragonfly Dreams, Stampin' Up!

I love the simplicity of this card, isn't it stunning? I have chosen to go without a sentiment as I don't think that every card needs one. I can't get enough of this Dragonfly Dreams Stamp Set.

How did I make it?
It was really easy. First, I picked out my colours. I chose a rainbow but you could choose several shades of a colour (or two) which would work really well also. I stamped the lines using the Gorgeous Grunge Stamp Set (available in Wood Mount or Clear Mount) in the colours below.

Which colours did I use?
Running down from the top... Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Pear Pizzazz, Marina Mist, Pacific Point, Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant, Melon Mambo, Rose Red and Archival Basic Black for the dragonfly. Night of Navy Cardstock for the base of the card.

Don't forget...
That you can claim a FREE gift from the Sale-a-bration Brochure for every £45 spent on Stampin' Up! products (excluding Shipping) between now and the 31st March 2017. There are links on the left hand side of this website to help you with this. Any questions just give me a shout!

Ahoy! Stampin' Up! Seaside Shore Stamp Set - plus a recipe for Amazing Fish Pie

Good morning all!
This week I have been inspired by all sorts of things. When creating my projects I look for things that I love, that are interesting, or catch my eye. Or it may simply even just be my mood that affects what I decide to craft.

What caught my eye this week?
This week it was Fish Pie!

Mr Hippy and I went for a dinner at our friends' house and they made a fantastic Fish Pie which got me on to thinking about the seaside and fish and everything nautical.

I'm going to share the recipe with you and share my project too.

Amazing Fish Pie
To make this dish you will need:

Boiled Eggs (one per person)
Potatoes for mash – enough to cover chosen dish size and depth of topping
Fish pieces – as much as you want – around a piece person
Milk – half a pint to cover the fish and make the sauce (may need more if doing bigger pie)
Onion – cut into four pieces
Bay leaves – 2 – 4
Plain flour approx. 2 tablespoons
Butter or marg – 2 oz
Parsley – good two tablespoons
Salt and pepper

1. Boil eggs and set aside.
2. Boil potatoes for mashing and set aside (keep warm)
3. Place fish, onion and bay leaves in a frying pan, cover with milk and cook until fish is done for approx. 10 mins
4. Melt butter in a pan, add flour to make paste for the sauce – then add milk from the fish. Season.
5. Place fish in oven dish, season, add chopped eggs (halved or quarted) add parsley and then sauce.
6. Finish with seasoned mash.

7. Cook in oven around 20 – 30 minutes when browning on top and bubbling appears up the side of the dish is often a good sign.
8. Enjoy!

Thanks to Lisa for the yummy dinner and for sending me the recipe!

Today's Project
So on the theme of fish I decided that I would dig out our By The Shore Designer Series Paper - that was the basis for the card.

I added the anchor from the Seaside Shore stamp set (available in Wood Mount or Clear Mount) and used the Labeler Alphabet to add the sentiment. I have been using this set a lot recently but then you can create so many sayings with it.

Seaside Shore Stamp Set, By The Shore DSP, Stampin' Up!

I'm hoping for lots of seaside adventures this year with Mr Hippy... we're happiest by the sea.

FREE gift for every £45...
Don't forget it's Sale-a-bration which means you can choose a FREE gift from the Sale-a-bration Brochure for every £45 spent on Stampin' Up! products... including any I've shown today. Use the links on the left of this website to see what's on offer.

The Love of Bright Colours - New Diary 2017

Good morning!
The sun is shining here in Suffolk and I am full of fizzy energy and excitement which is lovely. The days are getting a lot brighter and the promise of warmer times is filling me with enthusiasm!

My choice of diary
Although late in the month I have finally got my hands on a new diary, so I can finally get organised for the exciting year ahead. Usually I use Mat Sewell's Our British Birds Diary which has lovely graphics and information on British Birds and has a fantastic Month to Date section which is really helpful. This year I bought the Moomins 2017 Diary which is larger but has beautiful pictures which won me over; I am a huge Moomins fan.

Moomin Diary 2017

Inspiration for my project
The colours on my new diary were the inspiration for today's card - nice bright tones of yellow, blue and pink.
Lift Me Up Stamp Set, Up and Away Thinlits Dies, Stampin' Up!

Stampin' Up! products used
I used the Lift Me Up stamp set and matching Up and Away Thinlits Dies, which are available as a Bundle (Save 10%). The Bundles are available in either Wood-mount or Clear-mount, or you can buy the stamps and dies separately.

The yellow is our bright and cheery Daffodil Delight, and the blue is Pacific Point. I added a pop of pink with Melon Mambo, and there are some very discrete clouds stamped in Soft Sky.

The sunshine rays were stamped using a mask cut out using the Sunburst Framelits which I run through in the Big Shot.

Really simple and lovely.
