Beautiful You Dancing Lady

Beautiful You card, Stampin' Up!

Beautiful You
When I first saw Beautiful You I didn't really think that this stamp set was for me, if I am completely honest. However the more I saw demonstrators and customers using it the more I liked it and so a couple of weeks ago I invested in it.

It is SUCH  a gorgeous set and I'm really enjoying the cards I am making with it.

Beautiful You, Stampin' Up!

The idea behind this set is that not everything is always perfect, but while we're here we may as well dance. This is such a lovely idea - it is true that we should always live in the moment and make the best of what we've got. True positivity, true hippy mentality!

You can buy it in either a Clear Mount or Wood Mount set.

I used an Aqua Painter and watercoloured in Wisteria Wonder and So Saffron.

If you want to see more fantastic Beautiful You creations simply Google 'Beautiful You Stampin' Up!' - there are so many gorgeous projects created by customers and demonstrators around the world.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project,

Jar of Love - Simple Stampin'

Jar of Love, Stampin' Up!

Hello! Less is more?
Do you think that sometimes 'less is more'?? I do! I absolutely adore 'Clean and Simple' (CAS) cards - although they can be a bit tricky.

Today's card is CAS and I'm wondering if it is too simple? Like it is missing something? Even though I can't work it out I am entering it into one of this week's AAA Cards challenges - Game #88 - Stencil. For this challenge you have to create a CAS card using a stencil.

How I made this card
I stamped the Mason jar from the Jar of Love stamp set and then used a heart die (from a retired set) to cut a hole in a bit of waste card to use as my stencil. I sponged through the stencil using the Real Red Classic Stampin' Pad and a sponge which I cut down to a small piece. I wanted a solid image so I used lots of ink.
I then stamped one of the sentiments from Jar of Love - 'Bless your Heart' in Basic Black.

If you have any suggestions as to what this card is missing please let me know! Usually I get CAS cards right but occasionally they're hard to figure out.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project,

High Tide - Let hope be your lighthouse

High Tide, Stampin' Up!

Good morning!
Today's project is one with a nautical theme - anyone that knows me or has visited this blog before will know how much I love nautical and sea-themed stamp sets!

Well, I will be selling these cards (and other gorgeous things) at the Needham Market Summer Mind, Body & Spirit Fair on the 15th July 2017, where I will be with my Crafty Hippy stand - please come along and say hello!

How I made this card
I used the gorgeous High Tide stamp set and several colours - Always Artichoke, Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Pacific Point, Real Red. I used some Marina Mist and Whisper White cardstock.

Framed Pictures
I also made some matching framed pictures which I will showcase later in the week.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project,

Beautiful You Triple Tealight Gift Box

Beautiful You, Stampin' Up! Tealight Holder

Good evening everyone!
Today's project is a sweet little Tealight Holder featuring the gorgeous Beautiful You stamp set. I purchased this in Clear Mount, but it is also available in Wood Mount.

I created this little box after receiving something very similar at Team Training. Inspiration credit therefore goes to lovely Lynne Russell - thank you for the idea Lynne!

Beautiful You, Stampin' Up!Beautiful You, Stampin' Up!

I used some Subtles Designer Series Paper which has unfortunately sold out now, but you could use any of our gorgeous papers for your background. I used an Aqua Painter to watercolour my lady in, I used Calypso Coral and Wisteria Wonder.

I finished off with some Basic Black Baker's Twine.

Back tomorrow with another project,

Happy St George's Day! - Dragonfly Dreams

Dragonfly Dreams, Stampin' Up!

Hi everyone!
I am SO exhausted. It has been such a busy few weeks and I struggle with fatigue anyway so I am glad the school holidays are over. We've had a lot of fun and I am looking forward to concentrating on work again and being able to pace myself.

Happy St George's Day!
Today's card is bright and bold and features the reddest red we have - Real Red as per St. George's Flag. Unfortunately I don't have a dragon stamp to celebrate the day so I've made do with a dragonfly! You can't see from the picture but there is a gorgeous little Rhinestone in the middle.

I used the Dragonfly Dreams stamp set which is a big hit! There is so much you can do with this set and it comes with several gorgeous sentiments:
Dragonfly Dreams, Stampin' Up!

If you Google 'Stampin' Up! Dragonfly Dreams' you'll see many beautiful projects made with this stamp set, or use the 'Dragonflies' label on this website (right hand side of this page).

If you want to know more about this project and have questions about how it was made, or any other aspect of Stampin' Up! please don't hesitate to get in touch on the email address above.

Have a happy St. George's Day!

Stampin' Up! Swirly Bird - Simple Card CASE - and yesterday's trip to the Zoo!

Swirly Bird Stampin' Up!

Good morning everyone!
How's it going?

So we had an absolutely FAB time yesterday with Little Hippy - Mr Hippy took us to Colchester Zoo. Now, as I explained yesterday, I don't do zoos. I don't bet on horses, I don't do circuses (with animals in) - I don't do anything that exposes animals as entertainment for humans but with an open mind I went along as I had been educated that Colchester Zoo do a lot for conservation and animal charities.

The Zoo (voted 11th best zoo in the world) opens with beautiful gardens and several gorgeous statues:

Bear statue Colchester Zoo

We had fun on the train that takes you around the park and into the Lemur enclosure - today the Lemurs were hiding from us humans:

Train ride Colchester Zoo

Little Hippy enjoying the statues:

...and measuring herself against the height of a polar bear (on all fours!):

Polar Bear Height chart Colchester Zoo

We had a really lovely day and learnt a lot and Little Hippy loved it!

After a long day a simple card...
I was exhausted after all that walking. I have being trying to increase my steps each day and although I didn't hit as many walking around a zoo as I thought I would, I did more than enough for me! I was shattered at the end of it and so I thought I would do a CASE.

I have CASEd Val Moody's gorgeous Swirly Bird card. I have changed the original sentiment and I've used slightly different colours. This is such a great card that uses very little supplies.

Stampin' Supplies
To make this gorgeous card you will need:

Swirly Bird Photopolymer Bundle (matching stamps and dies)
Banners for You stamp set
Tuxedo Memento Black Ink
Big Shot Machine
Whisper White Cardstock
Basic Black Cardstock
Emerald Envy Classic Stampin' Pad
Watermelon Wonder Classic Stampin' Pad
Blushing Bride Classic Stampin' Pad
Multipurpose Liquid Glue
Stampin' Dimensionals

Bee Happy! Little Hippy has come to stay!

Dragonfly Dreams, Stampin' Up!

Good morning all
It's still the Easter Holidays for us - Mr Hippy and I have three children between us and the school holidays have entered a third week as two counties have overlapped... this week Little Hippy has come to stay!
Little Hippy, Crafty Hippy, Stampin' Up! Blog

So this blog may be quiet on and off until the weekend. I think today we are going to the zoo. Now anyone that knows me will know I love animals and I don't do zoos - not advocating animals for entertainment - but the zoo we are going to has rescued many of the animals and has done a huge amount of work for conservation and education, so I am going to go with the flow and hope Little Hippy learns a lot today.

Today's project
Today I chose to share a bright and cheerful project to celebrate our time with Little Hippy. I call this my Bee Happy Card and was something I threw together. I'm really happy with it! I shall list all the products you need to make this card.

Stampin' Supplies
To make this card you will need:

Whisper White Cardstock
Basic Black Cardstock
Soft Sky Cardstock
Soft Sky Classic Stampin' Pad
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set
Sheltering Tree Stamp Set
Butterfly Basics Stamp Set (also available in Clear Mount and Wood Mount)
Linen Thread
Rhinestone Basic Jewels (currently sold out)
SNAIL Adhesive (refill available)

I'll be back tomorrow with news of what we got up to. Enjoy your day whatever you are doing.

Sheltering Tree CASE in alternative colours - Emerald Envy and Mint Macaron

Sheltering Tree stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Good morning crafters!
A very happy Good Friday to you all. I hope many of you will be taking the opportunity to get inside your craft rooms/spaces and make some wonderful creations. I hope to be able to do this too as I pick up Little Hippy on Sunday for a week as it is the Easter Holidays where she lives.

I've discovered Instagram...
As I said earlier in the week I have discovered Instagram. Still working out how to use it but I think I've pretty much got the hang of it now. If you want to follow me my Instagram name is lauren.hippy and I mainly post regular day-today stuff as well as a bit of crafty stuff, so if you want to see what Mr Hippy and I get up to add me!
Instagram,

Today's project - Sheltering Tree
A week ago I posted a CASE of a card by Michelle Long. Well, this is the same card ** as the one I made then but in different colours! Thank you so much for the inspiration Michelle xxx

I used the Sheltering Tree stamp set to stamp this gorgeous tree - you could use any combination of colours that you wanted, but for this card I used Mint Macaron and Emerald Envy. Mint Macaron is one of the In Colors that are due to retire soon, so if you don't have this colour be sure to buy it soon.

Customise using the Labeler Alphabet Stamp Set
I used the Labeler Alphabet for the sentiment, and it's brilliant because you can use it to create any sentiment you like.

Suite Sayings Birthday Card

Good afternoon everyone!
I hope you all enjoyed the weather yesterday, wasn't it fab? Spring has most definitely sprung. We went to Framlingham Country Show, their 'Festival of Dogs' which was absolutely brilliant. I really enjoyed the Security K9 show, fantastic dogs who were so well trained. What did you get up to?

Today's project features the 'they say it's your birthday' sentiment from Suite Sayings - I love this set so much. It is also available in Clear Mount.

I used the ink splodge from Gorgeous Grunge (also available in Clear Mount) and some sequins from the Bermuda Bay Sequin Trim. The large 'Hooray' is from the Watercolour Words set which I've used a few times this week and is always a favourite.

Inks used are Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Tuxedo Black Memento Ink.

Papillon Potpourri Butterfly Birthday - A Quartet of Stamps

Papillon Potpourri, Stampin' Up!

Good morning! Four stamp sets on one card...
I wanted to create a grungey look, and I think I achieved that but it took four stamp sets to make this card.

The background ink splodges are from Gorgeous Grunge of course (available in Clear Mount also) and the honeycomb is from Butterfly Basics (available in Photopolymer, Wood Mount and Clear Mount). The sentiment is from Endless Birthday Wishes (another favourite of mine) and the butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri (also available in Clear Mount).

Punches
You could fussy-cut the butterfly out but I used the Elegant Butterfly Punch. The butterfly is sitting on some Playful Palette Designer Series Paper which I cut out with the Decorative Label Punch.

I used Tuxedo Memento Ink and Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pads and finished off my project with an Enamel Shape. Voila!

I'll be back tomorrow with more Stampin' Up! ideas, thanks for stopping by,
