Creating interesting backgrounds with Watercolour Paper, Drawing Gum and Aqua Painters

Good afternoon all!
A bright and cheery project this morning! As you might have guessed I can not WAIT for the Winter to be over. I'm so sick of the dark and cold. I'm waiting for the gorgeous sunny days of the Summer, my most favourite part of the year - hurry up!

Aqua Painters, Drawing Gum and Watercolour Paper card, Stampin' Up!

I started with a few colours in mind that I wanted to work with - Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Tempting Turquoise.

I then had a brainwave - perhaps I could use some Drawing Gum to create a spiral on some Watercolour Paper and then use Aqua Painters to wash over, creating an interesting background for my stamping.

I used the Drawing Gum and then set the Watercolour Paper aside to dry while I worked on another project. I gave it just over 2 hours to be absolutely sure that it was dry before watercolouring. The Drawing Gum easily rubs off the Watercolour Paper as it is designed for that, however if you are using it on cardstock you have to rub a little harder for a bit longer.

I think this card has a Hawaiian feel to it!

Time of Year
With a background as bright and crazy as this I knew I need to use a large sentiment stamp. The 'thinking of you' stamp from Time of Year was perfect. This set is only £9.00 and is one of our reduced-price Hostess Stamps which are only available when you earn Stampin' Rewards,

Free gift for every £45 spent on products
Don't forget it is also Sale-a-bration until the 31st March 2017 which means a free gift for every £45 spent on products (while stocks last). This could be a stamp set, or some designer paper, or one of our other gorgeous free gifts. Take a look at the Sale-a-bration Brochure to see what is on offer.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project for you to try,
