Going Places Designer Series Paper teamed with The Open Sea

Looe Harbour, Cornwall

Good morning!
On Monday we took a stroll around Looe Harbour and managed to dodge the rain. The night before was extremely windy (Mr Hippy's dad lives on a cliff) due to Storm Katie, but it didn't stop the many tourists from heading out. I managed to get a few snaps before the rain really started and I had to put my camera away.

So of course there needed to be another nautical project! But this is the last one for the week, I promise:

The Open Sea stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I love simple stamping projects for when there are busy days like these with stuff to do...

By The Tide

Good afternoon!
Well I managed to get down the cliff last night which was no mean feat. After 6 months of barely moving (I got very ill last year) obviously I have no stamina, but it was a bit of a shock to see that my muscles were very weak and wobbly when I have always been so strong. There is lots of room for improvement but it was so lovely to be able to get out and get some fresh air - and all without feeling dizzy - it feels like I am starting to get my life back again which is amazing. We went down to Blackie Ball beach as the locals know it to do some fishing but alas it was just too choppy and dangerous. We had to come all the way back up the huge cliff again (I only just about got down it!) and circumnavigate the rather menacing looking sheep (big horns!) but it was a lovely trip out. It has given me the inspiration for today's card, another nautical project:

By The Tide, stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I used the By The Tide stamp set for this card, I love the lobster in it, it looks great stamped in Calypso Coral as I have done here.

All the Stampin' Supplies needed to make this card are at the bottom of this blog post - don't forget Sale-A-Bration finished on the 31st March 2016 - you get a FREE gift for every £45 you spend on Stampin' Up! products.

Here's to more hill climbs!

Going Places Designer Series Paper - 'Wish Big' Masculine Card

Going Places Designer Series Paper - 'Wish Big', Masculine Card

Good morning everyone! And a very happy Easter to those who celebrate.
I'm writing from a very stormy and wet Cornwall today. We had gorgeous weather on Friday and then it all went downhill -  presently the sea is so noisy and rough, I love it.

Today's card colours are reflected in the weather a little - the blue sea with lots of choppy white, and a dark sky. I'm glad to say it is brightening up!

I love making masculine cards because they can be a bit of a challenge, although Stampin' Up!'s co-ordinating papers and colours make it so easy to create every project.

The Stampin' Supplies are listed at the bottom of this post on the ticker.

Go Wild Designer Series Paper

Go Wild, Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!

Hello!
Today's card has everything you could want - polkadots, butterflies, pearls, monochrome... ok, so they're some of the things I love in a project! But the Go Wild designer series paper I used on this design is just sooooo cool.

I decided to leave the card without a sentiment, but you could easily add one. I think monochrome is great for guys or girls, although the butterfly might be a bit girly for some.

A little reminder that we're into the last few days of Sale-A-Bration - it ends on the 31st March 2016. It is our annual promotion where you get to choose a FREE gift for EVERY £45 you spend on Stampin' Up! products- there is a range of goodies to choose from. So now is the best time to buy.

The Stampin' Supplies for this card are listed in the ticker below.

I'll be back soon with more projects and some videos, too. I am so looking forward to presenting how I do certain techniques and showing you how to make some beautiful cards... See you soon,

Craft Room Tour

Hello!
So today I thought I'd take you around my craft area as I know many of the other demonstrators have shown you around theirs, and I'm sure that many of you are curious!

In this new house (I've been here since July) I don't have a whole room dedicated to my crafting, but instead a corner of the kitchen. I am so lucky as this is one of the nicest rooms in the house and it means that I can still be a part of family activities and get my crafting done. It is such a lovely space. It also means that I can hold classes downstairs and have all of my stamping products to hand.

It gets a little chilly in the winter, sitting by the back door, however this is such a small part of the year that it really doesn't matter. In the summer I can have the back door open and listen to the birds singing outside as the breeze wafts in. And it's so lovely to craft on a Sunday while lovely Mr Hippy cooks our roast dinner.

Have a little Google of "Stampin' Up! Demonstrator's Craft Room" in images - there are some simply amazing spaces!

Where do you craft? Do you have a whole room or a sacred area dedicated to your craft? I'd love to hear about your craft space so please feel free to leave comments.

I'll be back tomorrow with another project - keep coming back for more videos and inspirational posts,

A Dozen Thoughts Stamp Set

A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Good morning all!
A bright and cheery card project from me today. This card was made very simply using a bit of stamping and a strip of Designer Series Paper - in this case the 'It's My Party' paper from the Spring/Summer Occasions Catalogue (link on the left of this page).

I stamped the sentiment 'hello' from the A Dozen Thoughts set using a Stamp-a-majig - this little tool is amazing and helps you line up your stamps on your projects exactly where you want them. It is one of my favourite tools and should be in everyone's stamping kit!

A Dozen Thoughts is a fantastic stamp set and has just the right sentiment for every occasion:
A Dozen Thoughts stamp set, Stampin' Up!

I think I will do a blog post soon on my must-have crafting accessories - I have published these before but it is probably about time I covered the basics again.

As per normal all the Stampin' Supplies you need to make this card are in the ticker below!

Stampin' Up! Training Swaps

Papillon Potpourri stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Good morning all!
We have some BEAUTIFUL sunshine here in Needham Market today - just gorgeous! And I have woken up feeling a little better today. Going to Natalie's (my upline) training on Sunday has taken me two nights to get over! So this morning I have photographed my 'swap' (above) and a selection of the other girls' 'swaps' to show you.

For those that aren't in the know 'swaps' are a small project or card front that we take to events to literally swap with each other. Not only are these swaps lots of fun to do (and hand out) but they also serve to give each other ideas and another style of project to add to displays at classes or shows or craft fairs.

Going to events and training is another great benefit of becoming a Stampin' Up! demonstrator - it really is a special family with a real sense of community spirit. Click here to read more about joining up.

The Stampin' Supplies for my projects are listed below in the ticker as normal.

No. 1 ~ Fiona Harris
This gorgeous little box (made with the All Boxed Up Kit) had a gorgeous little chocolate rabbit inside (yum yum!) - thanks Fiona!

No. 2 ~ Kim Fee

Hello - Sale-A-Bration stamp set

Hello Stamp set, Sale-A-Bration, Stampin' Up!

Good afternoon all,
I'm popping by to say 'Hello' - I've been absent in the last few days. One of the reasons for this was I went to a Stampin' Up! monthly training session yesterday - I will post up some photographs of the 'swaps' I received there when we finally get some good light! It was very interesting to hear what other demonstrators had to say and we ate lots of cake. Today I am absolutely exhausted as a result - I will sleep like a baby tonight!

Today's card is really simple - single layer stamping - and yet looks really beautiful. It was so quick to make and would be ideal for when you need to produce a lot of cards very quickly.

The background paper is from the Go Wild Designer Series Paper Stack and is a favourite of mine. The blue is actually Island Indigo and I have used both the Classic Stampin' Pad and Cardstock. The 'Hello' stamp set is actually one of the FREE gifts you can choose when you spend £45 on products - in fact you get a free gift for every £45 you spend on products during Sale-A-Bration - this only goes on until 31st March 2016, so there are only 10 days left to make the most of this fabulous offer.

If you would like to know more about being a demonstrator then please don't hesitate to get in touch by calling or dropping me a line,

The Open Sea

The Open Sea, Stampin' Up!

Good morning all!
Well yesterday I went back to the doctors with my ongoing health issues. I am now having injections every other day for the rest of the month. Hopefully that will give me some much needed energy. Today I have been sorting through some photographs (I got a camera for Yule) and I think my favourites have to be those of the sea. This is a photograph that I took in December of Portwrinkle, Cornwall - which is where Mr Hippy's dad lives:

Even though I am scared of the sea it absolutely fascinates me, and I am truly happiest by the sea. I find it very inspiring and thought that today we should have a nautical-themed project as a result.

Today's project was made using the Going Places Designer Series Paper, The Open Sea stamp set and the Going Global stamp set (for the sentiment).

The Open Sea stamp set:
The Open Sea, Stampin' Up!

Don't forget that as it is still Sale-A-Bration (until the end of March 2016) you can choose a FREE gift from a selection for every £45 you spend. Have a little sail (see what I did there?) around the website or contact me for more information.

All the Stampin' Supplies for this project are found in the ticker below. I'll be back tomorrow with another creation.

Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set - Time in the Garden

Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set

Good morning all!
Today's card project is bright and colourful - like some of the weather we've had this week in Needham Market - I think it's safe to say Spring is here!

We have been spending some time out in our garden, Mr Hippy has started painting the fence and has (unfortunately) pulled up some of the plants that were already here - eeek. It is looking a bit bleak but we're going to add some plant pots, soon, and maybe an arbour and climbing flowers. It will look lovely when we finish it, I guess transition is never good!

Here he is preparing a fire in the garden. Love that boy!

Today's card has a garden feel. That's thanks to the Sprinkles of Life Stamp Set and the Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper that I used for the background. There are 48 sheets - 4 each of 12 designs - so you can bring so many different looks to your projects:

Pretty Petals Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!

I love this paper!

The Sprinkles of Life stamp set is our Charity set - if you purchase this Stampin' Up! give a donation to the Ronald McDonald House Charity. To date Stampin' Up! have given over a million dollars to this wonderful charity that helps children in need.

This stamp set is really clever - you can create a tree, a cloud or an ice cream!

Sprinkles of Life stamp set, Stampin' Up!

It costs £19.00 and is a Photopolymer set. You can't see from this picture but I have used some sparkly Clear "Wink of Stella" on the leaves and some tiny pearls (Pearl Basic Jewels) to enhance the flowers on the tree.

You can find Pretty Petals and Sprinkles of Life, and the other Stampin' Supplies I've used, in the ticker below.

It's My Party, Designer Series Paper, Stampin' Up!

You can use this for card making, scrapbooking, home decor projects and more. You can also get matching Washi Tape and Enamel Dots:

Stampin' Up! Owl Builder Punch

Good morning all!

So here it is, as promised, a project with the Owl Builder Punch - it's been over a year since I played with this and so I decided to make a little nurse. Isn't she sweet?

There are so many things you can make with the Owl Builder Punch - Google it - you'll find reindeer, bats, Minions, Hallowe'en ghouls, lions, turkeys, cows... and of course owls. There are so many possibilities! The Owl Builder Punch has to be the most common item ordered amongst my customers.

Here's a link to a party owl I made some years ago http://www.craftyhippy.co.uk/2013/05/owl-builder-punch.html

Everything you need to make this project is in the ticker below.
Happy Crafting!
