Today's project features the Lovely as a Tree stamp set. I think these firs are gorgeous.
I'm finding that I'm thinking more and more about autumnal and winter themed cards, and even though my picture (above) was taken on a sunny October day you can see that there's not much light! Time to take the photography inside!
Firs are a genus of about 50 species of evergeen coniferous trees in the Pinaceae family - they're closely related to cedars. They're found in North and Central America, Europe, Asia and North Africa.
In terms of my cardmaking, I find nature to be a huge inspiration, but there is something about fir trees that really gets me going - they make me think of mountains, snow, adventures, bears, Alaska, the Aurora Borealis ... and Father Christmas!
The Lovely as a Tree stamp set is one of Stampin' Up!'s oldest stamp sets, it is a firm favourite with many of my customers.
To create the card you need the following supplies:
Lovely as a Tree stamp set (Wood-mount or Clear-mount)
Whisper White Cardstock
Memento Tuxedo Black Ink
Rich Razzleberry Classic Stampin' Pad
Dapper Denim Classic Stampin' Pad
Basic Black Cardstock
I gently dipped the sponge in both colours of ink and scraped up the paper in a vertical line and repeated that process. I then stamped the fir trees.
The picture is a bit dark but there are lovely hues of purple and blue.
