Good morning all!
So on my butterfly travels this week I found this brilliant website: http://butterfly-conservation.org/ - Butterfly Conservation are an organisation who are dedicated to saving butterflies, moths and our environment. They do some fantastic work - they reported only last month that the High Brown Fritillary experienced its best season in ten years with numbers increasing 180% compared to 2013.
For those of you that are only visiting my blog for the first time this week and don't like butterflies don't worry - this is not a butterfly blog, I'm just doing a week of butterfly inspired cards as we have so many beautiful butterfly products at Stampin' Up! Come back later for more projects.
Today's butterfly project is very similar to the 3D butterfly I made earlier in the week, but this one is in different colours and doesn't have another butterfly on top. It was made by stamping by the beautiful Swallowtail butterfly from Stampin' Up!
I used a mixture of colours: Tempting Turquoise, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Wisteria Wonder and Caypso Coral. I used a Blender Pen to lift the colour from our Classic Stampin' Pads. The sentiment comes from the lovely A Dozen Thoughts stamp set.
I used Black StazOn to stamp the butterfly (so it wouldn't bleed when colouring) but you could use Memento ink instead.
This was the card featured earlier in the week which I had embossed in black embossing powder before colouring:
