Stampin' Up! Convention 2013

Good morning Stampin' Uppers!

As I've had a bit of an absence in recent months I've been unable to tell you about my trip to Manchester to the Annual European Stampin' Up! Convention.

This took place in chilly November and my team mate Lynne and I were joined by lots of other ladies (and a couple of gents!) who are demonstrators - both those who do it purely as a hobby, and those who earn money from it and make it a career.

We listened to talks and saw some fabulous demonstrations of techniques - I think it's fair to say we had a fantastic time and came away full of inspiration!

Here are some of the pictures - I'm sorry that I don't have names to credit the wonderful creations shown here. If they are yours please contact me and I'll credit them:

My downline and friend Lynne

Some wonderful creations. If they are yours please get in touch!

So much inspiration to be gleaned from this trip!

Such bright and beautiful creations; I especially like any of the rainbow-inspired pieces like the "Dare to Dream" project above.

If you'd like to become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and join my team (or you'd like to find out more information) then go to the Join page of this website for more details.

More Polkadot Parade

Good morning all!
I've been using Polkadot Parade (Stampin' Up! designer series paper) a lot this week - I love it! It is so versatile and I love the vintage look it gives things.

Shown is a notepad that I covered with it; the stamps are from Mixed bunch and Regarding Dahlias.

There are six lovely colours in the pack of Polkadot Parade; Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry:

This Designer Series Paper is available in the Official Stampin' Up! On-line Store along with the rest of the range.

Making a Map

This morning we have a basic pictorial on how to make an effective map for your card-making and scrapbooking projects:

First brayer your cardstock with So Saffron Classic Stampin' Pad; or your chosen shade of yellow.

Add some Wild Wasabi (or your chosen shade of green) - you do NOT need to worry about it looking neat or even remotely map-like!

Take some sponge - I've used a chunk of a simple cleaning sponge - and daub some Island Indigo (or similar) ink from the Classic Stampin' Pad to your project. Again, it does not need to resemble a map - magic will happen when you stamp over the top:

Stamp your "World Map" over the top of your card stock and then add black Stampin' Emboss powder and heat set.

Voila! As easy as that. Perfect for all those nautical, travel or perhaps masculine projects.

Back tomorrow,
Lauren

Happy New Year everyone!

Good afternoon crafters!

A very happy New Year to you all !

One of my New Year's Resolutions is to get this blog back up and running after a few months off. To be honest 2013 was a fairly turbulent year for us in the Hippy household; we had the untimely and unexpected death of a well-loved family member and then Mr Hippy decided that life needed to take him elsewhere and so he has moved on (I hope) to better things. I wish him all the luck in the world.

The very end of the year saw a huge improvement for me, however, as I met a new Mr Hippy! I won't say too much about him (as I'm sure you'll read more about our adventures as the year goes on) except that he is wonderful and beautiful; and (as you can see!) has the most gorgeous, green, soulful eyes. Here we are on a trip out during December:

I'm full of hope and expectation for 2014 and so I thought I'd start the year off with a celebratory card. I'm a bit rusty as I have not crafted in such a long time but I'm sure my creations will pick up slowly; so please bear with me!

Stampin' Up! Tag It, Bakers Twine,

The stamp set is called Tag It and Stampin' Up! donate £2 to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Charity when you buy it. It is available to order on-line using the link at the top left hand side of this blog.

I used Stampin' Write markers to colour in the stamp set - Wild Wasabi, Calypso Coral, Soft Sueded, Pool Party and Wisteria Wonder. The cardstock is Whisper White and Baked Brown Sugar and the stripes are from the Gorgeous Grunge set (also available on-line).

The Bakers Twine is in Early Espresso - Stampin' Up! offer it in five wonderful colours. Take a look in the on-line shop.

There will be lots of exciting nuggets of news in the coming weeks as we have both the Spring/Summer Catalogue and Sale-a-bration commencing on the 28th January. I can't wait!

Back tomorrow and wishing you all the best for 2014; cheers!!
Lauren
