Retiring stock

Good morning crafters!
Are you all well? I'm still trying to get over this virus! Every day I wake up feeling better and then by about 3pm I am feeling rubbish again; we went out for a walk on Sunday and I had to rest for the entire afternoon, it completely wiped me out! Here is a piccie from our excursion - we went to the Devil's Punchbowl and Tabby had a great time climbing trees:

The Stampin' Up! Retiring List is being released on Friday 31st May as the Annual Stampin' Up! Catalogue is finishing at the end of June. Please order now to avoid disappointment. Sometimes they reduce some of the items, but it is impossible for me to say what will stay, what will go and what will be reduced. What is certain is that the items will fly off the shelves after the Retiring List is published; so get in early if there is something you really want to avoid disappointment.

Please note that after tomorrow night I will be unable to process orders until the 3rd June - unfortunately the publication date of their list clashes with me being in the middle of nowhere!  I will endeavour to place orders on the evening of the 3rd of June for anyone that wishes to wait and see what is still available.

What else is new this month??
I shall be running a give-away early next month so please check back next week for details. You could win yourself a bundle of Stampin' Up! goodies in my easy-to-enter competition.

Have a great day!

Glimmer Paper Madness

Morning!

So I went a bit over the top with the Glimmer Paper this week! I'm not sure today's card actually works having it on there, but I have been in a sparkly mood this week (despite getting over a horrid virus) and everything that has been created has ended up with some on, ooops!

Lovely as a Tree, Silver Glimmer Paper, Stampin' Up!

If you're wondering what stamp set I've used for the leaves it's the wonderful "Lovely as a Tree" set which is just beautiful and has so much detail. I've coloured the leaves in with a bit of Always Artichoke and Soft Suede using Stampin' Write Markers and one of our fabulous Blender Pens which you can basically use to watercolour images.

The sentiment is from the Teeny Tiny Sentiments which has 24 different phrases for all kinds of occasions. I use this set time and time again, it is so useful.

If you have seen something that you'd like to order then please get in touch, I'd be happy to help! the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk

Oh, Whale! stepped up!

Good morning!
Here is today's card which is the stepped up version of the card that I made yesterday - all I've done is add some Silver Glimmer Paper and a bit of ribbon:

Oh, Whale! stamp set, Stampin' Up!

Doesn't just a little bit of embellishment make such a difference!?

I'm really looking forward to the new Annual Catalogue which will be out at the beginning of July - I can't wait to see what new embellishments there are.

Don't forget you can order any of the products you see here as I am an official Stampin' Up! demonstrator, for more information visit the Shop page of my site or contact me at the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk

Have a happy Sunday!

Today's news

Good morning everyone!

Some not so brilliant news today; Stampin' Up! told us last night that they are having some issues with their on-line shopping site and (consequentially) have had to temporarily close it. I'm very sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience.

They are doing their very best to resolve the issues that have come up, and they anticipate the on-line store to be open in a couple of weeks. Of course I will do my very best to keep you all informed. The new demonstrator sites still work though, so do check back for blog updates.

Today's card features the Oh, Whale! stamp set. It's a quick and simple card that I will be "stepping up" tomorrow. I've teamed it with the Sunshine & Sprinkles DSP which is my favourite out of all the Stampin' Up! papers. I love the colours in this card, you could even make the whale pink and it would still "work".

We're off to the children's cinema morning in a minute, which costs only a £1! We're going to see Wreck it Ralph.
What are you all up to this weekend?? Do leave me comments I love to hear from you!

Owl Builder Punch

The Owl Builder Punch - the most ordered item by my customers.

Owl Punch, Builder, Stampin' Up!

EDIT - 11th July 2017: Sadly, the Owl Builder Punch has now retired and is no longer available. However! We still have lots of gorgeous punches - click HERE to view them.

This punch (118074, £16.00) is a firm favourite. As well as robust he's very versatile - just Google "Owl Punch art" and see what you get!

The paper I have used is the Patio Party set (126916, £9.95 for 12 double sided sheets - 2 ea of 6 designs) which is just beautiful and the colours are very cleverly combined. This paper is now retired, press here for the latest papers.

Don't forget you can now order Stampin' Up! supplies on-line (or you can email your orders through to me) - the link for my Official SU blog (which I don't use much) is here: http://www.stampinup.net/esuite/home/craftyhippy - but you can simply press the "Shop Now" button at the top of this screen to go shopping.

You don't need a catalogue for on-line ordering as there are pictures in the on-line store, and everything is categorised.

Enjoy your Friday crafters! Back tomorrow,
Lauren

Acrylic blocks

The Open Sea, Stampin' Up! Acrylic blocks

Good morning Crafty Hippies!
Today's project is a slightly more masculine card. I achieved this effect by rubbing Acrylic blocks (meant for holding the clear mount cling stamps) in our ink pads, and then rubbing onto the card to create this effect. Minimal effort for maximum style!

I think it has created a beautiful sea-scape! I was intending to make a sky and then silhouette it with plants and flowers; but I finished with a sea instead, so used the ship stamp from the set "The Open Sea" to finish the look. I haven't put a sentiment on it, but it wouldn't spoil it to do so. A perfect card for a man.

I guess the beauty of crafting is that sometimes a project will take on a life of its own and you'll end up with something different to what you set out to create.

Acrylic blocks from Stampin' Up! are big and chunky - they're fantastic quality and are a must if you use clear-mount stamps. We have them in a variety of sizes:

Acrylic blocks, Stampin' Up!

The largest block (F) measures 12.4 x 15.2cm to give you an indication of size. These (as are all Stampin' Up! products) are available to order through me - you don't have to be local or have a party as many people think.

You can also order online here

See you tomorrow!

This new option means you'll be able to shop any time of day or night, on any day of the year.

      • Look out for on-line only promotions. I will keep you up-to-date.

        • Once you have finished placing your order, you'll receive a confirmation email confirming your order number.
        • When the order has shipped you will receive a UPS tracking-number email so that you can track your order.

Brilliant news from Stampin' Up! HQ eh?? What do you think of the changes? Please let me know I'd be interested to hear what you think! See you tomorrow, Lauren xx

        Letter It ~ One Love

        Good morning all!
We've got a bit of a "hippy" card this morning as it features a tie-dye effect featuring the phrase "One Love".

If you don't know "One love" refers to the universal love and respect expressed by all people for all people; regardless of race, colour, culture, religion or gender. One Love is also one of my favourite songs (ever!) by the beautiful and talented Bob Marley.

        Letter It, Stampin' Up!

I was really happy with this card and I know that the recipient is going to love it. I used the "re-inkers" (little bottles of ink) that Stampin' Up! sell to top up their ink pads to create the tie-dye effect; and they're brilliant for all sorts of projects.

        Letter It, Stampin' Up!

I used the "Letter It" alphabet set which is one of many gorgeous alphabet stamp sets that we sell. I used some little brads between the letters to add interest. The globe is from the set The Open Sea.

Have a happy Tuesday and spread a little love!

        Love & Laughter

        Morning everyone!
On Saturday we had the pleasure of attending our friends' wedding. I made the card first and then had the usual dilemma of what to wear!

        Here's what I decided on:

Those that know me well know I love the 40s and 50s lifestyle thing so I opted for a little bit of retro goodness!

It was a lovely day, so thank you and a huge "Congrats" to Sam and Anna xx

The card I made is based on the design in the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue and featured a lovely mix of yellow, silver and grey. I added a little bit of ribbon and used differing shades of card to decorate:

Love and Laughter, Stampin' Up! Weddings

I used the fabulous "Love & Laughter" wedding stamp set which worked perfectly. I embossed the images in white and embossed some silver hearts as well as using some of our gorgeous Glimmer Paper to punch some hearts out. I also used the fabulous corner punch to round off some of the blocks of colour; this gave the card a softer feel to it.

Love and Laughter, Stampin' Up! Weddings

        Papillon Pot-pourri Smile

        Hi everyone!

This weekend we went camping - we spent the time at Pulse Festival in Southampton. It was much warmer than our last camping trip, though we still had to wear lots of layers to keep warm!

Despite the cold and the distinct lack of summer here is a piccie that sums up the weekend:

Don't know if you can make it out but Mr Hippy had a perfect smilie in his beer.

What else is making me smile? The Papillon Pot-pourri stamp set is! I have used it over and over again; and butterflies are just right for this season's cards. I used the matching punch, too:

        Papillon Potpourri, Stampin' Up!

        Elephantastic!

        Good afternoon everyone!

        You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

STILL not tired of playing with this little (or should I say - BIG) fella - I think he is so cute and I love the fact that you can colour in his party hat!

This stamp is of course from the "You're Amazing" set which (as you've seen) I can't stop playing with. It's my stamp set of the month, I think.

I used the hearts from the Confetti set - you can colour some of them in (some of them print in block colour) - I've also used the mini heart punch from Stampin' Up!

A real quick, easy card for a special birthday.

Become a Demonstrator for my team!

        Morning all!

Did you all enjoy the extended weekend? It was great wasn't it? To be honest I didn't get a whole lot done as we spent the weekend visiting family, but it was well worth it.

Tonight I am holding my regular monthly training session for my demonstrators; this is also a social evening as much as training. We like to get together and offer each other help and support; plus practical advice in the way of techniques and crafty hints. Plus there is usually something yummy to eat!

My team is currently expanding and if you're creative and enthusiastic I'd love you to join! It costs £99 to join Stampin' Up! as a demonstrator and you get to pick £155 worth of kit to get started. You get a business supplies pack of over £45 - that's a whole lot for your money.

There are lots of benefits (a great discount, special offers, freebies) and if you join my team you'll get great mentoring and support. What's not to love?

If you fancy joining click here - scroll down and you'll find the link to join my team; there's also a button on the front of my blog.. You can also find me (Lauren Huntley) on the Stampin' Up! demonstrator locator on their website and join using the special button once you pull up my details.

        Here's today's card!

Have a great day! See you tomorrow,

        Framed Butterfly

         Good morning all!

Here at Crafty Cottage we're really enjoying the summery weather; such a change from wet weather! In this country there only seems to be two seasons, really ~ winter and summer.

We made good use of the dry weather this weekend and went to visit Mr Hippy's mum; it was her birthday last week and so we went for a lovely walk yesterday and dinner out last night.

We visited Fyne Court for a ramble - we saw loads of lovely wildflowers and butterflies. Which the dog loves to chase, here's a pic of him for the doggy fans:

With so many lovely butterflies about I thought today's card would have to be butterfly-shaped in some way; in fact I have made a lot of butterfly-themed cards recently.

        Papillon Potpourri, Stampin' Up!

I've used two colours here: Summer Starfruit and Island Indigo - there is only one word for them both: Lush.

        Papillon Potpourri, Stampin' Up!

The butterfly is from Papillon Potpourri.

I used the oval frame from the Designer Frames embossing folders set which I ran through my Big Shot. I added a bit of "bling" (rhinestones) and some Designer Series Paper. With a "For You" sentiment (Itty Bitty Banners) this card is finished. Perfect for summer birthdays, thank you's or to give to a butterfly lover for any occasion.

All Stampin' Up! products are available to order through me: the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk

        You're Amazing - again!

        Good morning all!

I'm still using this set a lot - You're Amazing - I love it! This time I focused on using the hot air balloon rather than the elephant. I've also used the namesake sentiment (the others are "happy birthday" plus "winner" and "ticket".

        You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

I've used  trio of colour here - Early Espresso, Pool Party and Calypso Coral - I'm so glad that these In Colours are not retiring!

        You're Amazing, Stampin' Up!

I've used some rhinestones and I've double stamped the "Amazing" part of the sentiment ~ and raised it up ~ for extra colour and dimension. I love the vintage feel to this card.

        Creativity

Another little gem to add to Thursday's.....

This is so true! Sometimes ~ if I haven't crafted for a while~ I get really nervous about sitting down and making something. I guess I worry that I will have lost the ability to create something that made me happy ~ even though it is more about the taking part, than the end result. So I put it off, which is silly.

Today's card wasn't borne out of doubt; quite the opposite ~  but even so I was in for a pleasant surprise at the result that came out with playing with only a few bottles of ink.... I love it when that happens! Every now and then you create something that you just didn't think would look as good as it does.

I can't tell you how happy I am with this beautiful, rainbow ~ even tie-dyed ~ effect.

You are Loved, Stampin' Up! Baby wipe technique

I used 4 colours to make this card - Pacific Point, Tempting Turquoise, Melon Mambo and (I think) Daffodil Delight. I was a bit annoyed because after I used them I put them away as soon as I could... then realised I couldn't remember what the fourth colour was.... so it's a bit of a mystery!

I used the beautiful heart from the "You are Loved" stamp set. The card stock is Wisteria Wonder which is a fave and one that I am so glad is staying and will be in the new Stampin' Up! catalogue that starts in July.

If you would like to come along to one of my classes and recreate this card and this technique, then head over to my classes page or drop me a line. If you'd like to order Stampin' Up! products then also get in touch - I am a registered Stampin' Up! demonstrator who can sell to you wherever you are in the UK

        Musical Happy Birthday

You're Amazing, Musical Notes, Stampin' Up!
        Good morning all,

I'm hoping the recipient of this card won't be looking today ~ but as it's a couple of months before her birthday I'm sure to get away with posting it now even if she does peep! (Though I've perhaps given too many clues there!).

I am really SO happy with this card - I used the oval frame from the Designer Frames embossing folders from Stampin' Up! to create the raised window.

I used the Musical Notes Stampin' Around Wheel to print the gorgeous notes onto the card and on the colour card stock for the butterfly - this card would make a great card for a man - I'm thinking you could take the butterfly off if need be. You could also fill in the frame with different coloured card stock; I opted to keep this one simple.

The sentiment is from the You're Amazing stamp set which I have been using a lot this week. So simple and yet so effective - the simplest cards seem to be my favourite.

If you'd like to order Stampin' Up! supplies then please don't hesitate to get in touch the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk - don't forget there are lots of deals on at the moment - click on the links on my blog to find out more information.

        Pro-craf-ti-na-tion

        Morning all!

I've been working hard this week on lots of orders and enquiries; and I have had my head down designing some wedding stationery (photographs to come) and getting ready for this week's Stampin' Up! parties.

So today I thought I would just post up a quick piccie of something I found on my travels around the tinterwebs.

Procraftination... surely most of us are guilty of this!? I know I am!

I'll be back tomorrow with our regular daily card inspirational update. Don't forget that there are lots of great offers on with Stampin' Up! at the moment, so be sure to have a look around my site and contact me if you need any further details.
