Cheeky baby

Tea for Two Stampin' Up! paper scrap booking card making

Good morning everyone,

Here's another scrapbook page made with the "Tea for Two" Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up! The blue strips are from the Sycamore Street paper which are one of the Sale-a-Bration freebies.

This is an 8 x 8" page - I'll probably do a second half to this one with the word "Monkey" on as I found another photo that was a part of these set - and it's adorable! And so cheeky - just like my girl.

I used the Notable Alphabet set from Stampin' Up! which is just gorgeous and can be seen here:

Notable Aphabet Stampin' Up!
I really recommend this for an alphabet set - it's uber-cute and since investing in it I have used it loads. I always use a Stamp-a-majig to make sure that I can stamp the words together neatly, which gives a professional look to your cards and projects. Ask me for more details about that.

Please let me know if there is anything I've used that you would like to purchase - I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and can order Stampin' Up! supplies for you wherever you are in the UK.

Don't forget that we are still in the middle of Sale-a-Bration - free stamp sets and goodies for every £45 you spend on Stampin' Up! Choose me as your Demonstrator today xx

Tea for Two scrap-booking fun

Good morning all,
One of the things I wanted to achieve (creatively) this year was to spend a bit more time scrap-booking.

Last week was half term and I had some time off from my other (read "proper") job, so I had some time to sort through some photographs and get myself organised.

Stampin' Up! Tea for Two scrap booking

Here is my little girl in 2008. Sadly I can't remember how old she is here but I'm guessing somewhere around the 6 months mark.

She was such a lovely, happy baby.

I have used Stampin' Up!'s "Tea for Two" Designer Series Paper here exclusively to make this page, along with some Very Vanilla and Calypso Coral card-stock.

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: N/a
Ink: N/a
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral
Paper: Tea for Two
Punches: Word Window, Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Square
Other: SNAIL adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Marina Mist Stampin' Write Marker

More tea?

Stampin' Up! Tea for Two paper

This is another of my Tea for Two creations.

I absolutely adore this paper, although I wasn't sure about the colours at first. I'm not really a pastels girl, preferring louder, brighter colours - but this is such a great set of papers that the colours have really grown on me.

I've chopped some of the paper up, cutting out pictures and wording - and added a few pearls and a tiny bit of stamping. A lovely card that you could make in a few minutes.

I'm really looking forward to scrapping with this suite so that you can see some of the pages in their entire glory, rather than the bits I've haphazardly chopped off!!!

To make this card you'll need:

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: Kindess Matters
Ink: Crumb Cake
Cardstock: So Saffron
Paper: Tea for Two
Punches: N/a
Other: Pearls, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL adhesive

Welcome, Dylan!

Stampin' Up! Storytime paper

Good morning everyone.
I'm hoping I have posted this late enough in the week for my friend to have received this card in the post! I'm not sure if she looks at this blog, and although she is a good customer of mine: I'm sure she has her hands full right now! So hopefully I have played this one safe enough :-)

This card celebrates the arrival of Dylan ~ welcome to the World, baby Dylan!

I'm not sure you can tell from the picture but it is actually quite a large card - even so I had trouble fitting his name on it, so I staggered the letters out. They are cut from the Storytime Designer Series Paper - and they were so gorgeous there wasn't the option to not to use them.
The best thing of all about this card is that the lamb in the picture has some significance to the recipients, too!

I really hope they like it - not my usual sort of card, so a nice change for me to make something different.

After ordering and receiving the "Storytime" DSP I have decided to get another pack of it and finally start to scrapbook my daughter! Not literally, don't worry!
I haven't actually got a nice book of photographs of my daughter printed, despite making them for other people. So time to get organised!

Stampin' Up! Storytime paper

You can get this lovely paper through me as I am a Demonstrator for Stampin' Up! It costs £9.95 for 12 sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided 12"x12" designs) - and don't forget that we are still in the middle of Sale-a-Bration - which means free stamp sets and goodies to choose for every £45 you spend on Stampin' Up! Choose me as your Demonstrator today.

To make this card you will need....

Stampin' Supplies:

 Stamp sets: Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Night of Navy
Cardstock: Night of Navy, Whisper White
Paper: Storytime
Punches: Word Window, Corner Punch, Small Heart Punch
Other: SNAIL adhesive

Congratulations guys! I can't wait to have a cuddle with Dylan.

Mr Owl is back!

Good morning crafters!

I thought it was about time Mr Owl made an appearance again, I've somewhat neglected him a bit even though he is one of the best punches EVER made!

I thought I'd just make a quick post today and just list what you need to make this card, as my last few have been a bit long winded (phew, I hear you all say). I just can't help being a chatterbox :-)

To get Owl-tastic you'll need....

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: Daydream Medallions, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Marina Mist, Early Espresso
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Paper: First Edition, Polkadot Parade
Punches: Owl Builder Punch, Word Window

A "Perfectly Penned" thank you

Stampin' Up! Perfectly Penned, Fabulous Florets, Summer Silhouettes

Good morning all!

This beautiful "Thank You" sentiment is from the Perfectly Penned set. Isn't it a beautiful font? I love it.
It seems to go really well with any Autumnal or Botanical projects, which I just adore making.
It features four sentiments :
Stampin' Up! Perfectly Penned

I think it has a sort of 70s Carpenters feel to it, don't you think? Probably another reason why it appeals to me so much.

I used some of the Sycamore Street paper that was free with the Sale-a-Bration offer running at the minute (a FREE gift for every £45.00 you spend on Stampin' Up! - ask me about it!) and I used a couple of stamp sets to get the wonderful leaves and flowers.

Here is a full run-down of what you need to make this card:

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: Perfectly Penned, Fabulous Florets, Summer Silhouettes
Ink: Midnight Muse, Summer Starfruit
Cardstock: Whisper White
Paper: First Edition, Sycamore Street (2013 Sale-a-Bration)
Punches: N/a
Other: SNAIL adhesive

Please let me know if you'd like to order any (or all!) of these supplies; I'd only be too happy to help  the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk  07896 314573

Tea for Two - Step 2

Good morning all,
Here is the second part of my vintage, tea-inspired card step-up.

As you saw yesterday, I made a simple card using only clips of Designer Series Paper and absolutely no stamping whatsoever.

Here is how the "pimped" card looks now:

Tea for Two - Stampin' Up! paper

Just adding a little bit of stamping and a punched-out sentiment has made such a difference, and has taken a plain card and made it look that little bit different.

I used the gorgeous leaf stamp from the Madison Avenue set which is one of the Sale-a-Bration freebies this year. It has a scandinavian feel to it which I absolutely love.
You can get this stamp set FREE with a purchase of £45 - in fact you can choose a different freebie for every £45 you spend (so £90 = two freebies, and so on). There are 17 wonderful gifts to choose from in the promotion this year.

Please contact me for details.

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: Madison Avenue (2013 Sale-a-Bration stamp set), Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Crumb Cake,
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Calypso Coral, So Saffron
Paper: Tea for Two
Punches: Large Oval, Scallop Oval, Corner Punch
Other: SNAIL adhesive

Tea for Two - Step 1

Good morning everyone!

Today's post is the first of two parts. I'll be showing you today how you can make a simple, gorgeous card - and then step it up (or "pimp"!) to make something even more special - which I will showcase tomorrow.

Stampin' Up! Tea for Two paper

Notice this card doesn't have any stamping on it at all?

I cut out pictures from one of the sheets of "Tea for Two" Designer Series Paper available from the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer Seasonal Catalogue and mounted them on the Calypso Coral cardstock. I absolutely adore this vintage-inspired paper.

You get twelve sheets (2 each of 6 double-sided designs) of 12"x12" loveliness for £9.95 - perfect for scrapbooking as well as card making and all those other wonderful projects you'll all have in mind.

Stampin' Supplies:

Stamp sets: N/a
Ink: N/a
Cardstock: Calypso Coral, So Saffron
Paper: Tea for Two

Come back tomorrow to see how I step this card up - again, really simply - to make an even better card.

Polkadot Parade

Good morning all!

Today's card is made using the fabulous Designer Series Paper "Polkadot Parade" which is to be found in the Annual Stampin' Up! catalogue.

This 12x12 paper is just gorgeous and features 6 of the "Getting Started" family of colours (£9.95 for 12 sheets): Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Rich Razzleberry - and Whisper White.

I've found this paper to be SO useful, as well as super-cheery:

Stampin' Up! Polkadot Parade Rich Razzleberry

Here I've used Rich Razzleberry - the butterfly (cut with the Elegant Butterfly Punch) demonstrates the other side of the paper.

The stamp set I used to make the patterned circle is "Daydream Medallions" (£32.95/£25.95) - I have used this set over and over again - a must have for any serious craft collection.

Stampin' Supplies:

Cardstock: Very Vanilla
Paper: First Edition, Polkadot Parade
Ink: Rich Razzleberry
Stamps: Daydream Medallions
Punches: Elegant Butterfly
Other: Pearl, SNAIL adhesive

Video-tastic!

So, I have stepped into the 21st Century (finally).

I thought that it would be rather good to start making some videos and showcase what's on offer from Stampin' Up! - with the intention of posting up some tutorial videos - once I finally get the hang of it!!

This is my first video and in true Lauren-style I simply could not wait until tomorrow to make this.... Of course such a task would have likely benefited from some proper sunlight (rather than a lamp!) and I need to learn how to stop moving around quite so quickly (*blur alert*)- but everyone that knows me will tell you I have a lot of nervous energy and just can't sit still........

Whatever! -  it was a lot of fun!!

I'm sure for some of my customers it is probably nice to put a smile and a voice to a name..... And thankfully my card-making skills are better than my video-making ones......!!

Busy as a Bee

Yep, that's been me this week, hence my lack of posts... I've had lots of family stuff on and I've been feeling a little run down... but I'm glad to be back.

How are you all doing? Got much crafting done this week?

Today's card pays homage to my busy bee-ness! The gorgeous stamp I used is from a set called "Spring Sampler" which can be found in the Stampin' Up! Spring/Summer seasonal catalogue priced £34.95/£27.95

It features 24 wonderful stamps including - a sunshine, an umbrella, a frog, an Easter egg, a pair of wellies, jellybeans, a sheep and of course the wonderful bee:

Stampin' Up! Spring Sampler - Bee

Here is a close-up of the cheeky little fella:

Stampin' Up! Spring Sampler - Bee

I thought I would colour one of the bees differently - the lucky chap is Tempting Turquoise - and I think this worked really well. It's good to stand out! .....What is it Coco Chanel said?

Oh yes...... "In order to be irreplaceable one must always be different"

I couldn't agree more.

If you would like to order Stampin' Up! products, or to know more about Stampin' Up! and what I do then please get in touch - the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk 07896 314573

Boxes Ticked!!

Good morning everyone!

I don't know if you remember me sharing my New Year's Resolutions on here? I'm not usually one for making them ~ preferring to make changes whenever they are needed ~ but I was looking back at my blog this morning and found the post and just had to read it through. These are the goals I had set myself:

1. Take up exercise.
2. Take time out for myself.
3. Start jewellery making again (a passion) and get an Etsy shop started.
4. Stop worrying. About everything and anything.
5. Do more camping this summer.
6. Get to as many festivals as I can

I'm doing OK so far!!

I've started exercising and to date have lost 2.2kg and gone down a dress size (hooray!). I've been trying to take a bit more time out for myself by being a bit more organised and occasionally abandoning the blog (!) for a few days to have a breather.
The Summer and the festival season hasn't started yet ~ so not quite achieved those ~ but we are making headway with getting our van sorted and have purchased a few tickets for things we really want to do.

I'm not sure I'll ever quite get to grips with the not worrying thing but I have started making jewellery again ~ and I've taken all my shots ready to start building an Etsy shop (which I hope to get done by the end of this month). So all in all I think I've done quite well!

Did you set yourself some goals? Have you achieved them? Has it been hard??

Losing weight has been a long journey to keep myself motivated ~ thankfully my other resolutions are a bit easier to maintain:

Turquoise Spiral Earrings £7.50

Jewellery making. Hooray!

These earrings have been made by me (sat here in my little cottage) with love; they have a bright and beautiful chunk of turquoise, Tibetan Silver spirals, and Sterling Silver ear-wires. They can be yours for £7.50 plus postage and packaging (£1.50 to UK, I'll also post overseas).

The spiral is the oldest symbol known to spiritual practices is found in every culture in the world and represents the ever-present cycle of life, growth and renewal. When used as a personal talisman it helps consciousness to accept the turnings and changing of life as it evolves.

Turquoise clears the mind for meditation and opens your eyes up to the wonders of the World!

If you would like to purchase these and get a bit of cosmic consciousness please get in touch!!  ~ the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk

Primrose Petals Lobster

Good morning everyone!

It's been really sunny here in Surrey over the last few days, Spring is on its way! I have soooo much planned for the next few months ahead; I'm starting to wonder how I am going to fit it all in considering I'm already running to a very tight schedule!

I'm hoping the lighter evenings and mornings (they're also on their way - smiley face!) means I come out of hibernation mode and I manage to get even more done!

I spend a fair bit of time pouring over the new catalogue, daydreaming and planning all the wonderful things I'm going to create! The new Spring/Summer catalogue from Stampin' Up! has loads of cutesy, vintage, and colourful ideas for those Spring and Summer cards and projects.

I've also been dreaming about getting out in our VW Camper conversion down to the sea ~ catching crabs and finding some Samphire for our dinner. Foraging is on my list of things to do more of this year. With all this in mind  it became a good bit of inspiration for today's card.

I've mentioned before how I especially like the new "By the Tide" (£24.95); this gorgeous stamp set comprises of 7 beautiful sea-scape stamps for your nautical projects.

By The Tide, Stampin' Up!

I used my Primrose Petals ink to stamp a lobster three times onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock; this was the absolutely perfect colour for stamping Mr Lobster!!

This picture shows just how juicy Stampin' Up! ink pads are; and how stamping this way is a technique within itself:

By The Tide, Stampin' Up! Lobster

I then added a sentiment for a really simple but effective card - perfect for someone who loves the sea!

By The Tide, Stampin' Up! Lobster

For those of you who are wondering what shade of blue I used to contrast it's Midnight Muse, I'm using this colour a lot since I invested in it.

Don't forget you get a freebie for every £45 you spend on Stampin' Up! right now, as we're in the middle of their fabulous Sale-a-Bration promotion.

If you would like to order Stampin' Up! products or would like to know more details then please get in touch, I'd be pleased to help you! the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk     07896 314573

Pop Up Posies Kit ~ Part 2

Happy Monday everyone!

To go with the card and flowers I gave my friend Lynne for her birthday, I also made her a gift. I used the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit to make a gorgeous label to attach to the bag of home baked biscuits I made her:

I used a Gusseted Cellophane Bag (£3.75) to hold the biscuits in, and a piece of Baja Breeze  1/8" Taffeta Ribbon (£5.25) to tie it all up.

The label itself is made from a piece of "Tea for Two" Designer Series Paper; plus the die-cut with handmade flower from the kit:

Pop Up Posies Designer Kit Stampin' Up!

I punched a hole in the top of the label and just threaded the ribbon through:

And Voila! A beautiful gift made from scratch. The photograph really doesn't do it justice.

Did you notice how cute the biscuits were?? They were actually made with the "Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamp" by Stampin' Up! (£15.50)

I chose the "Holidays" set which features a snowflake, heart and pumpkin stamp lid for the wooden handle:

Did you spot the Stampin' Up! logo'd biscuit?? That was from a set I got at Convention last year.

If you'd like to order the Pop Up Posies Kit or the Cookie Stamp or anything else you may have seen on my blog then do get in touch, I'd love to hear from you! the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk

Pop Up Posies Kit ~ Part 1

Friday saw the birthday of the gorgeous Lynne!! She is one of my down-line and is super crafty, so she deserved a card with extra-special effort!!

I decided to use one of the flowers from the Pop Up Posies Designer Kit (below, £11.95) which features in the new Spring/Summer catalogue which came out yesterday:

Stampin' Up! Pop Up Posies Kit

You get 9 die-cut labels, with everything you need to make 3 different types of flower to stick on top. It even comes with a gorgeous "Just for You" stamp as pictured in the card below, which isn't available separately:

Stampin' Up! Pop Up Posies Kit

I decided to stick mine to a bit of cream card stock to make a card. I used the "Vine Street" embossing folder which is one of the Saleabration freebies currently on offer; and the beautiful paper is from the "Tea for Two" Designer Series Paper. The yellow and white stripe paper is from the "Sunshine & Sprinkles" DSP - both are from the new catalogue and are just gorgeous. Plenty of bright, sweet colours for the coming season.

I also used some Daffodil Delight Stitched Ribbon to finish everything off. Happy Birthday Lynne!

If you'd like to get your hands on any of these products (and a free product for every £45 during Saleabration, which is on now) then please get in touch; I'm a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and I'd love to be able to help.    the_crafty_hippy@yahoo.co.uk   07896 314573

Thanks a ton!

I haven't been able to show you many Sale a Bration creations as I've either been too busy making other things or have had my eyes elsewhere ~ like on the new Spring Summer Catalogue (which is finally here!).

So I thought today we'd have a look at a card you can make with the Sale a Bration freebies; these are free items that you can get your hands on for every £45 you spend on products from either of the catalogues.

This is a creation that I have actually CASE'd from Julie's Japes; I've changed the shade of blue to Indigo Island, and tweaked it a bit to suit my own taste; but credit really must go to Julie:

Patterned Occasions, Sale a Bration 2013, Stampin' Up!

The embossing folder is called "Vine Street" and is JUST beautiful. I have used it countless times in the last week, and I think it is actually my favourite folder of them all.

The ribbon is from the "Sycamore Street" ribbon and button pack. You get 3 spools of ribbon (Tangerine Tango, Island Indigo and Pool Party) and you get a packet of 36 buttons (Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Tangerine Tango).

The stamp is from a set called Patterned Occasions - you get 5 gorgeous stamps in this set and is perfect for all occasions.

The Stampin' Up! Spring Summer Catalogue 2013

It's finally here!
I've been waiting for this moment for..... well, what seems like forever!! Personally I love this catalogue more than any of their other ones to date. It is that gorgeous.

Before we go into today's card, I'd like to wish my down-line Lynne a very happy 40th birthday!! I will be posting up her card on Sunday so as not to spoil the surprise!

Today's card has been made from a few of the new items available:
1. Paper Doilies - £2.75 for 24 of them (bargain) - stamp them, colour them, use them as accents.

2. Yellow zig-zaggy paper - from the "Sunshine & Sprinkes" DSP - £9.95 for 12 beautiful sheets of paper featuring whales, rainbows, sun-rays, stars, anchors, umbrellas - my favourite DSP to date.

Stampin' Up! Paper Doilies, Sunshine and Sprinkles, Tea for Two

3. The spotty paper is from the "Tea for Two" DSP - £9.95 for twelve retro sheets - think vintage tea parties mixed in with roses, honeycomb and newspaper cuttings....

The bakers twine can be found in the main catalogue, as can the punches for the butterfly and backing flower (in Midnight Muse). I cut the flower by hand and then layered it all up, not forgetting some pearls to finish off.

Enjoy your birthday Lynne! And enjoy the new catalogue everyone.  View the new catalogue here
