Christmas Deer

I was really excited and pleased once the new Stampin' Up! catalogue came out because it had a deer stamp (which is simply gorgeous) for making those holiday-season cards.

I love all wildlife, especially British wildlife, and deer are really special to me (they are considered sacred to people of Pagan persuasion). Deer are strong, proud and regal. The deer carries the message of purity and of walking in the light.
So you can imagine my joy when I opened up the catalogue to find such a wonderful stamp set - and priced at only £13.95 for seven stamps.

Here is the first of the two cards I've made recently with the beautiful stamp set:

Christmas Deer Stampin' Up!

I wanted to go for something less traditional, so I didn't use any shade of red for this card at all! Although there is a tiny bit in the paper. I've embossed the deer in gold and I have used the tiny bauble stamps that come with the deer - it is a simply stunning stamp set and I'm so glad I invested in it! I can see me having hours of fun with it.

The cardstock looks white in this picture but it is actually cream coloured.

I used the Designer Series Paper from the International Bazaar suite - which I am completely in love with. Not traditional Christmas/Yule paper at all but I think it works really well for something a bit different. It has a really folk-y feel to it, I'm really pleased with it.

If you would like to make this card (or one similar!) you will need:

Stamp sets: Christmas Deer, Teeny Tiny Sentiments
Ink: Pacific Point
Cardstock: Very Vanilla, Early Espresso
Punches: Corner Punch, Word Window Punch
Paper: International Bazaar DSP
Other: Versamark Ink, Gold Embossing powder, heatgun, Stampin' Dimensionals Foam Pads

Please drop me a line if you would like a catalogue, would like to come to one of my classes, would like to order some products or for anything else! I am always happy to help :)
